Reviews for Elliott Bay Marina
A quality friendly Marina, 2017-04-16
Captain: , Seattle, WA (30)

We have moored two boats at Elliott Bay Marina over the past two years and generally are very pleased.

View of Seattle
Good staff
Two good restaurants
Nearby west marine and Whole Foods
Clean and Secure
Good showers/restrooms

No WiFi - excuses are made about cost but really
Narrow slips
Narrow fairways
Wind typically blows north/south across east/west facing slips
No line handlers after dusk

You do get a discount after 6 months which brings the price more inline with Shilshole, however Elliott Bay Marina is a difficult marina to dock in given the sizes of slips fairways and prevailing winds. Perhaps there a reasons why Shilshole Marina has a 1 to 2 year waiting list and EBM has none.

million dollar view, 2016-11-19

I've been on B dock for six months now. My experience with marinas is limited, probably 20 nights over the past twenty years before moving here, so take that into account. Power is a potential problem. I need 240 volts to run my heat and AC and this is not widely available here. some slips are wired such that you can use the two 30 amp 120v circuits together to get 30 amp 240v. Some, but not many, have 50 amp 240v. I was offered the opportunity to pay $450 to have the dock pedestal retired so that the two 30 amp circuits would be out of phase allowing their combination into a 240v supply. That's just rude. No wifi at slips is a drag. The pub restaurant is just that, think Sysco burgers and young unprofessional short time staff and you'll not be disappointed, but it is so convenient. those are all the negatives I can think of. I haven't tried the "fine dining" option. The facilities are great and the staff are terrific. Beautifully maintained. The views are extraordinary. There is a surprising amount of wildlife around, often see packs of seals lounging on the finger piers at night, herons, kingfishers, even a bald eagle. Not so much community, few liveaboards, feels more like a country club than a community. A little isolated if you are on foot but perfect distance from just about everything you could want by bike, or car. Loaner bikes available. Whole Foods, West Marine, Staples, Fuji Bakery and a wine store are minutes away unless you are walking. Many great restaurants within a few miles but the nearer ones, Magnolia and Queen Anne neighborhoods, are up steep hills so less bike friendly. It is expensive but you get what you pay for. Shilshole, where I spent a week for a haul out, for instance, is not much cheaper but has vastly inferior facilities and environment.

Top notch Marina, 2015-08-30
Captain: , mercer island (74)

We have been happy "tenants" on D-dock at EBM since 2002 - and we can only heap praise on the staff and the harbormaster for their always friendly and helpful attitude to their customers. The bathrooms are kept immaculately clean and the round-the-clock security makes the marina safe.
Only one "nit" - no free Wifi :-(

A true 5 star facility, 2015-08-16
Captain: , Kirkland, WA (4478)

Top notch marina in a great location. The excellent location includes some of the best views from any marina in the Seattle area. Great views of the Seattle skyline to the east and to the west views of the Sound and Olympic Mtns. Well protected from any weather, two restaurants at the marina itself. Excellent walking and biking paths.

Decent shelter, good shore power, close to shops, 2015-06-28
Captain: , PooleUK (933)

A great spot from which to base for a period, good shelter, decent shore power, clean dock water.
NO WIFI is frustrating!

Great location, 2014-07-21
Captain: , Tracys Landing, Maryland (350)

We were thrilled to get a slip here for a few weeks to explore Seattle. It was a bit noisy with all of the construction at the port (a new waste water facility), but it's a beautiful and peaceful location. The staff is friendly and helpful, the walking paths and buses make it easy to get around, and we enjoyed our stay.

Excellent as always, 2014-02-09
Captain: , Cowichan Bay, BC (838)

The only complaint I can come up with is no free wifi. BBX is here if we were BBX users and the office will hand out a wifi device on 24 hour loan but there's no free wifi in the slips. Otherwise its our favorite spot to tie up in the PNW. Great restrooms - friendly service including daily free coffee and donuts in the office - new floats, maybe a little tight clearance but no big problem there either.

We stayed here for the 2014 Seattle Boat Show, 2014-01-31
Captain: , Channel Islands, California (1149)

What a fantastic marina. They were pleasant, courteous, helpful, and competent. The marina is quite spic and span. The facilities are all modern and well maintained. I would come back here again given other choices. It is not as close to downtown as Bell Harbor, but taxi service is easy and inexpensive.

Best Marina in Puget Sound, 2013-12-05
Captain: , Seattle (313)

World class operation. Marina boasts two great restaurants. (Palisade and Maggy Bluffs) The facilities are the cleanest and most modern in the area. This is our home port and just a great centralized location in a park like setting.

Quick assignment, clean and nice folks (albeit in the slow season), 2013-11-28
Captain: , Beaux Arts (11)

We called about an hour beforehand for an overnight slip and was given a spit right away. Marina is very efficient and the folks were extremely nice. Filled up on Diesel gas and had a few beers at the Palisade bar. Moorage was expensive but overall a good experience.

Excellent place to overnight and enjoy great restaurants, 2012-09-06
Captain: , North Lake Marina, Lake Washington (260)

Palisade, the high-end restaurant, is our celebration place (for over 14 years). The downstairs, more casual, and less expensive Maggies Bluffs is also a great place for food. The marina itself is very clean and the showers/bathrooms and immaculate. Wonderful place for mooring.

Elliott Bay Marina, 2012-06-22
Captain: , Seattle, WA and Ft. Lauderdale, FL (330)

One of the most expensive marinas in all of Puget Sound but also one of the nicest! Clean, well maintained, plenty of free parking. There is both a grill "Maggies Bluff Cafe" and a 5 star restaurant "The Palasades" located in the marina complex.

The only negative is the presence of a bit of a seasonal surge from time to time near the west side of the basin.

Narrow Fairways, 2012-03-14
Captain: , Seattle (690)

While I agree with the other reviews that cite the nice docks, cleanliness, restaurant and a very helpful staff, the fairways are very narrow. This combined with the fact that many boats overhang their slips make the maneuvering tricky indeed. I moved over here from Shilshole, and I am moving back for this reason (only).

Excellent Staff, moorage assistance available, clean docks, exceptional Restaurant facilities..This is a very nice place to moor or visit.

Fine home port, 2009-07-18
Captain: , Seattle (250)

We're just starting our second year at EBM, and continue to be happy to call it home port. Great facilities and landscaping, clean and well maintained. Attentive, friendly and helpful staff (shout out to Doug and his crew!). Great casual dining at Maggie's and fine food at Palisade's (excellent happy hour).

The new cruise ship terminal adds interest, along with a little noise and added tension when departing via the east end of the breakwater. But overall, it's a plus. It will be even better when the ships plug into the grid and don't have to run their generators in port.

Elliott Bay Marina, 2009-05-14
Captain: , Seattle (10)

This is the best Marina that I have stayed at in Seattle. I've been there for just under a year. Doug, the harbormaster is incredibly nice and helpful, as is every other member of their staff. Maggie Bluff's has good food, too.

Nice marina, 2007-09-23
Captain: , Olympia (1435)

A very nice marina to stop at. Good food at the restaurants.

My Homeport, 2007-07-09
Captain: , Seattle, WA (33)

The new harbormaster Doug is very helpful, the staff outstanding, and the quality of the marina outstanding. This is probably the nicest place to stay in Seattle afloat.

Nicest in the area, 2007-05-10
Captain: , Seattle (5)

Absolutely enjoy this marina. I've been a tenant for over 5 years and have found the facilities to be top shelf.
