Reviews for Elizabeth Street Marina
Near Customs Dock, 2017-01-31

We anchored and the customs boat came out and told us we had to get a slip so the customs could inspect us. so we went to this marina and spend a couple days. The restaurant on site was closed but the maager came in one day and let us get drinks. Is a handy location to tourist areas. It seems they had problems with tourists being robbed but from this area past the Cruise ship docks there was 3 police per block. I still would not walk around much after dark. Customs did come inspect and after the bribe of 3 beers and the customary $20 for each person we had on board we were given our papers. Everyone was very polite both at customs, restaurants and this marina.

I initially spoke to Charles at 242-424-7374 who was not on site. Seems to be some confusion also as to who to speak to when you get there. Charles was good enough to let me dinghy into their dock once but with uncertainty as to whether or not I would be allowed to stay when I got there. Only person I was able to contact on arriving at 10am was a big Bahamian man (Andrew) who did not ask for money nor did he say I had to pay anything for tying-up but to whom I gave $5 as a courtesy. Next day I dinghied in and paid same man $5 (as a courtesy since he is the security man). On the third day I called Charles and asked how much to leave one bag of garbage and he said cost was $20 per bag. He also said that I should have paid someone named Kaly $10 for each dinghy tie-up. I paid Kaly $10 for dinghy tie-up that 3rd day. On the fourth day I again paid $10 for dinghy tie-up and was told by Kaly that I could not leave any garbage in the dumpster. At the end of the fourth day as we were returning to the dinghy Charles introduced himself and asked if we were being taken care of. I simply responded "yes" and left it at that. It looks like these folks have been taken advantage of by some not-so-honest cruisers and do not like cruisers in their own boat but rely on income from the big cruise ships ? In any case it was an expensive 4 days ($30) only to tie our dinghy and climb a very steep vertical ladder to the dock with no place to dispose of garbage. Obviously not a spot where you are welcomed to spend your money since the up-front charges are so high even before you begin to spend!

Not The Best Nassau Has to Offer, 2012-03-18

It was quite by accident that we ended up at this marina. While waiting for repairs to transmission we had a wonderful stay during the week. However, on the weekend the restaurants, and especially the upper level estblishment can be very loud late into the night, which is why I have created this marker. Our first Saturday night in the marina and the upper level establishment had a birthday party with loud DJ and music. You have been warned.
