Reviews for Eau Gallie Yacht Basin
Came for one night, stayed for five, 2016-12-03
Captain: , Dronten, NL (10)

Very basic and very friendly. I concur with other reviews. Super-great price. ACE hardware store within walking distance. On approach, don't bother finding Red Marker 12.? Presumed dead, but turn right at Green 13 and look for the travellift, it's there. I hope they have a slip next time!

Wow what a find! $1 a foot!!, 2016-06-16
Captain: , Key Largo (5330)

In 2015, been back many times.
You may find them hard to get a hold of, but worth the effort. they have very few transient docks.
exsellent prices, good electrc, great protection, nice town,, loved the poeple and the town, the view,be sure and do Sqidlips for happy hourz!
I will be back!

Quiet, hidden marina, 2016-05-07
Captain: , Michigan City, IN (828)

Date of stay: 4/18 and 4/19/2016
There are only a couple of spots for transients along an old fixed dock (no tide). Owner runs a busy boat canvas repair shop on site and was very accommodating. Local liveaboards were friendly. Walmart and grocery store within several miles. We rode bikes to Walmart on Wickam Rd. Caution: roads were not bike friendly.

Hidden gem, 2016-03-17
Captain: , Charleston (40)

We really loved staying here. Our sentiments are exactly as David O'Keefe said below. Doesn't look like much but its all you need. The price is right. Docked just off of travel lift. I was worried about our 4'2" draft but the folks assured me we were good and they were right. didn't have any issue with draft nor sucking up muck into A/C strainer. 50 amp plug in worked fine. Very nice people. Uber got us into Squid Lips for dinner. Easy bike ride to Starbucks if you're into that. Will definitely be back again.

Old Florida, 2016-03-15
Captain: , Sanibel (195)

January 21,2016. To start the river is beautiful and you can anchor right off the -docks in 6 feet of water. Room for 2 boats as per Skiipper Bob. plently of wildlife birds, manatee's etc. The basin is one of the oldest in the area the people friendly, short walk to town. It is the place described in Sailing to the Sun.One of the first books written about the ICW after the Second War. It has not changed much, still have a work yard. If you are looking for a resort this is not the place for you for everyone else it is a must.

A diamond in the rough, 2016-03-04
Captain: , Amelia Island, FL (507)

The adage "never judge a book by its cover" proved to be so true here. We arrived Wednesday with a certain amount of apprehension as we approached the dock. First off, the marina doesn't monitor any VHF. All communication is by cell phone. Our assigned berth was at the boatyard by the travel lift. The dock looked really tired and worn. we honwstly weren't sure we wanted to stay there. So after deciding to try it anyway we were so glad we did. The 50A power pedestal wasn't working but Dave, who helped us tie up, stayed with us until we got good solid power. Then he invited us to join in on the pot luck dinner the marina was having that evening. What a great group of people. As others have commented, the marina is a no frills basic service marina that is nearly full. The people there make up for the lack of amenities by an order of magnitude. That, plus a dollar a foot which includes electricity, and a very short walk to town makes the yacht basin a real gem. We'd stay there again without any hesitation.

One really nice place., 2016-02-02
Captain: , Apponaug R.I. (778)

We were going to stay for a few days. We stayed for two and a half weeks. Every Wed night is a pot luck dinner. What a wonderful time. Great people an great food. Wonderful very social place. We will return.

nothing pretensions , 2015-11-01
Captain: , Columbia, NC (160)

Nothing fancy - just a good old Marina that should meet most needs - TV, gas grill, washer/dryer, very protected, nice scenic river approach, must have cash or checks - no credit cards - very quiet - free 30/50 amp service - call ahead - very few transit slips available - call Karen at 321 432 8257 - not the listed phone number

My Kinda Place, 2015-10-09
Captain: , Iotta Louisiana (394)

Shallow approach, most always full... That would be for a reason. Low Key marina. Decent facilities, showers laundry, wifi etc, but not High End. Lots of liveaboards and leaving soon cruisers. Stopping for a week to rest and refit. 6 days in advance buys you 7. Met 6 good folks in 15 minutes including a ride to the Walgreen to get cash as no credit cards. Looking forward to the potluck on Wed. Would that there were more marinas like this around... Wouldn't spend so much time on the hook ;-)

Very Friendly, 2015-04-27
Captain: , Kent Island, MD (392)

Last time thru Melbourne, we stayed at the Melbourne Harbor, and while it was very nice, we did not get to walk the 3 miles to Eau Gallie. This time we stayed at the EGYB for three nights over Easter, and it was great. There's no abundance of transient slips and there's no more than 5' of water, but the people are very friendly, and the area is definitely worth a visit

Can't beat the price, but not really for transients., 2015-04-07
Captain: , Massapequa,NY (1156)

Great price! Very friendly people, but not really for transients or cruisers. The basin is very small and shallow. The Marina is filled with small sailboats. Several scary dogs in the Marina that bark & growl as you walk by. My friendly Golden Retriever was attacked by one of these dogs & my husband was bitten on the hand. Wouldn't go back.

What a find!!!!, 2015-02-11
Captain: , Huntsville, AL (474)

OMG, what a find! I can't say enough good things about this place. A family owned and run marina, the people are wonderful and made us feel like part of the family. It doesn't have all the frills of some other places, but you won't feel more welcomed or meet friendlier people, and I'll take that over frills any day.

buck a foot, 2015-02-03
Captain: , Halifax Harbor (109)

The marina is close to town. very helpful folks with the Mom and Pop feel. well protected but check power when you hook up. The box nearest to me was not working properly. the marina helped me find good power.

10 day stay 14 Jan 2015, 2015-01-27
Captain: , Colonial Beach, VA (640)

This is a jewel of a marina. Reminds me of old mom and pa place with friendly people and residents. We left the boat here for over a week. It was cared for and we had some canvas work done that was great. The wifi is nothing to right home about but we'll come back. Great people and preety good facilities.

Friendly Place, Nothing Fancy, 2014-12-12
Captain: , Stuart FL (508)

First off, understand it's a buck a foot, 30 amp included. That being the case, what's not to like? On this date, the channel was 8-9 feet or more all the way through. There was 4+ in our slip nearly up to the parking lot. Several larger, deeper draft boats were in here, giving confidence to proceed up the fairway. Tying up was no problem. Karen is extremely gregarious and helpful. The WiFi works. So...enjoy!

Just off inside marker 11, 2014-04-07
Captain: , Oriental, NC (60)

Needed a safe haven from weather for one night. Needed a fan belt for our alternator.Missed it...had to turn around in a small basin... Price was right, one of the emplyees offered and took us to an autoparts store close by. So helpful! Would go back!

Our 40-ft. Mainship trawler was tied up to the pier in front of boat works., 2014-04-04
Captain: , Gloucester, Virginia (100)

Not the best location as pier is narrow, wooden with tall pilings. If windy when on pier, be careful. Walked into town and found a bakery, Ace hardware, and many antique and art shops. Showered and dined on board. Dockmaster helpful.

Great place to visit, 2014-01-16
Captain: , Savannah, GA (76)

I echo the previous comments, we stayed for 5 nights, it was restful, peaceful, and friendly. Karen did some excellent canvas work for us.

Good place to stop, long or short time, 2012-12-03
Captain: , Baltimore (119)

The title says it all. Layed up for a month here to go home for the holidays. Friendly folks but they only take CASH OR CHECK, no credit cards. Contrary to the section on services they DO have free internet. Down graded them from excellent to good because of the hassle with no credit cards (who carrys checks these days).

Nice people, 2012-10-23
Captain: , Sunset Beach, NC (1124)

I give it four stars because the people were the nicest we've met. And for $1.00 / foot, the price was right. They took us in for Thanksgiving 2011 and what a nice little spot.

Otherwise, if on the inside of the basin, the narrowest fairway I've ever seen but no current or wind. Very protected. VERY short fingers on fixed docks. We went in bow first and had to exit via our bow pulpit. This is not a transient place but they will take you in if they have room and you ask.

I'll say again, nice folks on the live aboards and local boats here.

A quaint, friendly marina, 2012-09-26
Captain: , Punta Gorda, FL (2709)

There may only be one or two transient spots open at any time, but it was a neat stop. There are a number of liveaboards who gather under the Temple of Knowledge (pavillion) to socialize. All are welcome. The facilities are certainly adequate, and the 2 private bath/showers are very decent. The price is certainly good.

very nice and clean, 2012-06-08
Captain: , Port La Belle FL. (10)

Nice little Marina. Unice style. Very frindly owners

wrong number!!, 2012-03-26
