Reviews for Eastport Yacht Center
Nice one night stay..., 2016-10-04
Captain: , Magothy Marina, Pasadena, MD (10)

One night stay. Helpful staff. Nice floating pier. Easy in and out. Short walk to restaurants. Quiet night unlike what I experienced on the other side of Eastport.

Not a popular stop but great for Maverick, 2015-05-26
Captain: , Lloyd harbor ny (125)

Kimberly the yard manager could not have been more accomadating.
Though not a transient marina for large motor yachts like Maverick, Kimberly each year always finds a spot for us at the end of the haul out dock. Good showers and close to town.

Great location away from the crowds, 2015-03-31
Captain: , Virginia Beach (133)

We have stayed a few days here for the past two July 4th celebrations (2013, 2014). The location in Eastport is walkable to Downtown Annapolis, but quiet in the evenings. Nice restaurants available all over Eastport and of course Annapolis. The outside slips (where most transients are berthed) do get some wake traffic and are fixed docks, but its quiet in the evening. The showers as indicated by others are great/clean/air conditioned. Check in/out is a breeze.

Not Bad in an Pinch, 2014-10-07
Captain: , Herrington Harbour South (328)

Received slip 'out front'. Lots of wave action but that died down after sunset. Slept great! Dock hand very helpful but prefers talking via phone (as do I). Showers/restrooms brand new and clean. Two propane grills in 'picnic area'. Hung with the locals at Davis' Pub.

A very good service yard in Eastport with a few slips for transients., 2013-09-07
Captain: , Annapolis Md (280)

J Gordon located here is a first class repair facility with specialties in yoach systems and general maintianance. The facilities are reasonable and the dock are sound. It is a short walk to restaurants and a longer one to Annapolis. Located at the mount of Back Creek the passing boat traffic is high.

Easy access on Back Creek, 2013-07-10
Captain: , Deltaville (13)

Friendly staff. A working marina/boatyard, not a resort (no pool, restaurant/bar) but great bathhouse/shower. Good location in Eastport, easy walk to Eastport restaurants. The water taxi picks up on Back Creek every hour, or we walked across Eastport to the Charthouse'('great happy hour) and the water taxi picks up there more frequently to Annapolis.

Good location, decent marina at good pirces, 2012-08-10
Captain: , Londontowne, MD (470)

Friendly staff; they don't do VHF, so call on the phone. As in many marinas, it helps to be prepared to provide exact and detailed guidance to dock hands... so lines end up attached exactly where and how you want them. The location is excellent for walking access to town, especially the Eastport side... and especially compared to prices at the big Mears facility further inside Back Creek (although Mears has a pool and other amenities EYC doesn't offer). The water taxi, of course, is easily available for runs to Spa Creek, and regular taxis can provide more timely service to anywhere should that be necessary. The marina may or may not have available slips sized for larger boats, but they can sometimes allow a side-tie-up along the inside of the dock that leads to the travel lift well. AC is available on several pedestals in either 30- or 50-amp, but actual open outlets will llargely determing boat positioning.. which may end up exactly alongside the fixed pump-out station. That's not horrific, but it's something to watch for when deciding where exactly to lay alongside, if there's a choice. The head/shower/laundry facility is one of the nicest and cleanest we've ever seen in a marina.

Recently renovated heads & lounge, 2012-04-01
Captain: , Eastport, MD (532)

I kept my boat there for years before we purchased a slip further up the creek. I was back recently to visit a friend who lives aboard at EYC to find the heads, showers, laundry, and lounge have been totally renovated. And not just new paint or fixtures, but very tastefully done. As another post says, call ahead during business hours - they don't man Ch 16 (no problem as long as you know). Can't beat the location.

Need A Lift ?, 2012-02-08
Captain: , Baltimore MD (70)

Need a haul out for what ever reason this is the place. Ray (Travel Lift Operator) will take very good care of you boat and the pries are reasonable. Service, haulouts and repairs it's a 5 star

One Month Stay, 2011-10-05
Captain: , Sodus Point, NY (718)

We had been traveling for 4 months and needed to visit family and do maintenance/repairs. We had made reservation at a marina in Spa Creek and they decided to change the agreed upon rate due to the boat show. I called here, after hours, and got Kim on the phone. No rate changes during the boat show, $17/foot/month. She asked us to park at the travel lift for the night and she would get us to a dock in the morning. Pulling in, Ray (marina worker) came to help us dock and then helped us get to our assigned slip. Ray ended up being the marina%u2019s biggest asset. Helpful, hardworking and very knowledgeable about everything in the area. Also drove us up to get a rent a car. Leaving the boat for 2 weeks, was no big deal when we knew Ray was here. He walks the docks regularly and makes sure there are no vagrants and boats are tied well. Everyone here was friendly and helpful, but I would come back again because of Ray. Can't say enough. I hope they pay him well.

Facilities were clean, but only 1 stall in the men%u2019s room. Washer and dryer seemed to run 24 hours, but everyone was coming in for the sailboat show. They have bikes to rent and happy to provide quarters for laundry. We walked everywhere from here. Be sure to go to David%u2019s and buy Ray a beer. Safeway will deliver groceries for the big load (1st delivery is free).

Do Not Expect Frills, 2011-08-15
Captain: , Rock Hall, MD (179)

EYC is perfect if you are not expecting a resort-type marina and do not care about being in the center of things in downtown Annapolis. The marina office closed early so we had to arrive before 4 but we were told that if we let them know en route if we expected to be late, they would have someone stay.

Our biggest frustration was that we could not see the slip numbers from the boat. The slip numbers are painted onto the dock and only visible if you stand on the dock and look down at your feet. We circled around the basin for a bit while the young lady manning the office tried her best to direct us over the phone (did not answer the radio). She was helpful once she came outside to point out the slip to us.

Facilities were adequate.

The marina is in a good location within walking distance of good restaurants (Davis' Pub and Leeward Market).

Location, location, location, 2010-07-21
Captain: , Sarasota (1427)

First off, this is a yard more than a marina (yes, they have a lift). Most of the slips are for smaller boats (<35' or so). However, there are six bulkhead slips for larger boats. We kept our 39' trawler there for the summer of 2009. These slips are very protected and you don't get any of the "swell" from Back Creek. Given you're in Eastport, the slip fee is real value. The location is outstanding - within a 1/4 mile or less is a good deli, Davis' Pub, Boatyard Bar and Grill, and O'Leary's. City Dock is an easy one mile walk and you can ride the water taxi back for $2.
Update 6/10 We liked the place so much last summer, we came back for this summer also.

Small liveaboard community, 2010-04-14
Captain: , Annapolis, MD (1342)

One of the marinas that welcomes liveaboards. Facilities are spartan but everything works. This was my introduction to living aboard and I was quite happy at Eastport Yacht Center for about a year. Great location, decent facilities, and wonderful staff.

No weekend hours for the office staff, so make arrangements ahead of time.

Great people , 2009-07-30
Captain: , Absarokee Mt (1228)

Located starboard side of Back Creek, first place on channel as you come in, right past museum. No radio. Call on phone, 410 280 9980. Good location for walking to all the attractions of Annopolis. We dinghyed to Spa Creek, did the shops, spent one day at the Naval Academy. Docks fixed, cluttered, and narrow slips for sail boats.
