Reviews for E J Mertaugh Boat Works
Amaizingly friendly, 2016-07-10
Captain: , Muskegon MI (60)

We are trailer sailers, so we needed to park out truck and trailer while we were in the area. The municipal marina has no place for trailers, but when I approached Brad at Mertaugh, he was great. It was raining at the time, and he even gave us a ride back to the marina in his car. I think they are the kind of people who bend over backward to help others, and it was very appreciated.

Very good short stop marina, 2014-09-13
Captain: , Sandusky Oh (615)

Two very beautiful young women dock hands took our dock lines and knew exactly how to handle them. So that was a good start. They were very polite and scurried to help us take on fuel. We draw six feet of water and there was plenty of depth to spare. Some dockage, but we stayed at the City Marina.

Change of Review, 2013-06-29
Captain: , Big Torch Key, FL (1956)

Familiy owned and operated business makes everyone feel at home. Excellent mechanics and woodworkers. Small supply and parts inventory, but can have most items shipped in a day or two. Reasonable labor rates.
Now, although still friendly with excellent quality we have to downgrade our review after poor experiences with two friends. The first was moored at the marina and needed a fresh water pump replaced. After being told they would be right over to take care of it, it was a week later that he finally got the pump fixed and he said it was expensive. The other had to have a major repair on his keel. The original estimate has quadrupled and the work is not complete a year later. If having any work done, we would highly recommend getting a firm quote and time line for completion.
