Opposite impression of restaurant, 2012-08-09
Captain: , Detroit (720)

Just viewed Marina from land and would concurr with most of the comments about it being pretty unkempt, if not horrible. I actually had to ask it it was open and operating, because it was not obviously in use based on the condition. Hard to tell if and where the power recepticles were, but whatever.

On the restaurant, I have to personally disagree, or at least I'm pretty surprised at the other commentary above. The Prices were shockingly high to me, like $7.50 for a cup of soup. Everything was like 50-100% higher than the atmosphere would lead you to think, even for waterfront.

And all 5 at my table found all the diverse food we had ranged from not good enough for the high price to down right horribly tasteless. Nobody liked anything and nobody wants to go back. If it was cheaper, I still wouldn't go back unless I had to, but at the prices they charge. Never again.

Waitresses were nice, so I tipped well, but I can't see supporting them again, unless they step it up quite a bit.

sunday buffet, 2012-02-19

The Sunday buffet is OK - the pickerel special is not bad - restaurant and bar not cheap especialy for people used to US pricing - docks suck and the owner does not seem to care - no fuel

Stay Away from Duffy's, 2011-12-28
Captain: , Sandusky, Ohio (20)

Difficult entry and exit, docks rock continously, more interested in the bar than the dock. Bird dung everywhere, sailboats beware. Great town, too bad this marina keeps people away!

OK place to tie up, lots of wakes, 2011-02-03

The people were friendly enough and the town is great, but the marina is pretty run down. The river current runs through the marina so entering and exiting is a bit of a challenge.

Not a great place to stay, 2009-07-02

This Marina is pretty dumpy. Seagull dung everywhere. I don't think they chase the birds away or wash the docks off very often. Not protected from the River traffic at all. Everytime a freighter goes by, the boat slams into the dock. This seems to be a hopping place at night. There is a very popular bar at the Marina. No bath house, you either use the bathroom in the bar, or sweet talk the staff to let you use an open motel room. The town is amazing! Really cute little town. Great little shops, neat fort to see from the war of 1812. Too bad there is not a better marina to stay at.
