Reviews for Dozier's Regatta Point Yachting Center
value added!, 2016-10-13
Captain: , cruising (591)

We were able to stop and use their special Chesapeake Room for an informal Krogen rendezvous with a dozen boats. Outstanding facilities....... top notch bathrooms, loaner cars, fun stuff to do, covered porch with rockers, and excellent wifi. Dockmaster Jimmy took excellent care of us. We will be back for a longer visit and to use their new pool in the future.

Great Marina, Great Customer Service, 2016-10-13
Captain: , Chapin sc (240)

We stopped here to meet other Kadey Krogen boaters for a dinner in the marina's Chesapeake Room. Wonderful room for any type of event. Docks were great - very well maintained! Jimmy, owner and dock master, was very welcoming. Great lounge area with a computer and large screened tv. Also wonderful, huge porch with rocking chairs and a table at one end. Bathrooms, showers and laundry were very clean and nicely decorated. A very pretty area to walk and stores are only a few miles away by walking or bike or one of the loaner cars. On the day we visited the wifi was very weak but it was due to a few boats streaming movies. Guess that's something we all need to be aware of as we all need to SHARE a marina's wifi. All in all a great stop and beautiful marina. And they provide Boat US and MTOA discounts on docking.

Great Marina, 2016-09-01
Captain: , North Charleston, SC (622)

We stayed here in 2014 and again in 2016. It's a great marina with nice facilities, great heads and a nice (small) pool. The staff is very friendly and there's a couple loaner vehicles to get you to West Marinf, a big home center and a full gocery store.

Gracious from the Radio Call Onward, 2016-08-18
Captain: , Grand Rivers, KY (110)

It's amazing how many marinas don't answer VHF calls. I never understood that, but no worries at Regatta Point. Radio and mobile phone calls are answered with grace and courtesy. And that set the tone for our two day stay--grace, courtesy, and helpfulness all around.

Regatta Point is set just off the channel in an area well protected from wind and current. Transient dock access is easy and help is available if you need it. Docks are floating and nicely kept, with nearby power, water and on-dock pump out service.

The Marina facilities are lovely, with a veranda full of rocking chairs, a tidy bath house and pool and well-kept grounds.

Two minivans are available as courtesy cars and, amazingly, they had no check oil or other service lights lit. That's a rarity!

Jimmy was as helpful a Marina manager as we've run across, helping up find parts, new anchorages up the Potomac and services in Deltaville.

That pretty town is just three miles away and is perfect for provisioning, repairs, etc. The grocery is ample and a fresh produce stand is just down the road. And a West Marine Superstore and a good True Value complete the mix.

We'll be back to this wonderful little marina. We're sure of it.

An amazing place, 2016-07-24
Captain: , Charleston, s.c. (70)

We came for a night, stayed for two, and wished we could have stayed longer. Our kind of place: friendly, calm, beautiful. Jimmy was so gracious and helpful. We borrowed a car and toured Deltaville, where Main Street frontages mixes corn fields and store fronts. Rural and so nice. The stand out is J&Ws seafood-- worthy of the most discerning city dweller. Crab every way imaginable; and an incredible display of fresh fish. Spend several days at Dozier's to eat well and get in to the laid back, relaxed atmosphere of Marina and town. Doesn't get better than this.

B-n-B meets a Marina, 2016-07-19
Captain: , Prince William Marina, Woodbridge (100)

Checking in, was more like a Bed and Breakfast then a Marina!.....Jimmy and Nancy are so welcoming. The huge front porch with rocking chairs felt like our group of 3 boats were staying at a fine B-n-B rather than a Marina. They have a small pool to cool off, and a loaner car to use. Jimmy had restaurant recomendations (Eckharts sp?) that was spot on. Also a great protected location right off the bay.

Great Marina, 2016-07-13
Captain: , Occoquan, VA (352)

We stopped here for a couple of days on our last trip out to the bay. Doziers is a very friendly marina and the grounds, pool and docks are imaculate. We even had a dolphin swimming in the lagoon!! The entrance channel is quite narrow but there was plenty of water for our boat (4 foot draft). I would not reccomend trying to walk or bike into the town as the road has no room and the local driver are "aggresive" to say the least. There is a nice little restaurant across the harbor but you will need a tender to get there. There is quite a bit of boat traffic wake if you are out on the front dock like we were. Some people do not understand what "NO WAKE" means! We will go back as all in all, it was an enjoyable stay and we got to meet Jeff and see his new boat Red Head.

Good Marina, but FANTASTIC Dock Master, 2016-07-11
Captain: , Occoquan, VA (370)

Called at last minute for 3 boats overnight and Jimmy Mackey made our stay ABSOLUTELY FIRST RATE. He greeted each boat, personally helped each boat tie-up, was very engaging in conversation and recommending places to eat, and then facilitated a loaner vehicle to make our stay first-rate. The porch/views get rave reviews as does the water system and concrete floating docks. While small, the pool was nice--but the views off the porch were the allure for our group. We'll definitely be back--thanks again Jimmy for all you did!

Southern Hospitality, 2016-07-11
Captain: , Timonium (50)

Dzier is a small marina - docks are in great shape. Jimmy will welcome you with a smile and offer some great insight to Deltaville - it is a small town with limited options for dining. Don't expect a big party atmosphere - instead enjoy the rocking chairs under the covered porch and small private pool. If you plan on going to town, you'll need transportation - you can use the shuttle or get the keys for the marina truck. One to two night stop unless you like it real slow - then extend your stay and enjoy all of their small twon hospitality.

Dozier's Regatta Point, 2016-07-09
Captain: , Solomons (30)

This has become our go to marina for trips to the south of the bay. The facility and staff are A+, first rate. Wonderful porch with awesome views to the west, nice pool and neighborhood for walks, courtesy car is super easy (J&W's Seafood in town is NOT to be missed!!!). We have gone again and again. Just a very nice, convenient, clean, relaxing place.

New RO Water System, 2016-07-01
Captain: , Annapolis (2677)

The marina installed a new RO watersystem in 2013. The water here is about the best of any marina in DVL! Easy in and easy out. Great staff very knowlegeable and experienced. Pool, loaner car. Also has a great Captians Lounge open 24/7. Large meeting room makes this marina polular with cruising groups and fleet rendezvouse.

Great Marina!, 2016-07-01
Captain: , Tracys Landing, MD (10)

Outstanding customer service and easy acccess off of Stingray Point. Regatta Point has great amenties (grill, pool, ice, wifi). Close walking distance to the Stingray Point Lighthouse to stretch the legs and a courtesy vehicle to stock up on provisions. Regatta Point also has a shuttle that runs (currently, $0.50 a person) to visit restaraunts as well as the Maritime Museum and walking trails. A great place to enjoy the sunsets from the many rocking chairs on the veranda.

Great Beneteau Rendevous, 2016-06-27
Captain: , Hampton VA (140)

Had a great stay here 6-2-16, we draw 7ft 2in and had a very easy time getting in. Jim is awesome! Nice pool and great showers. Can accomodate groups for large meetings. Wonderful skipper's lounge. Was easy to get to off the bay.

wonderful marina in a great spot, 2016-06-24
Captain: , Little Creek, VA (20)

Nice, peaceful floating dock Marina just off the Rappahanock River and not far from the Chesapeake. (Easy to find and get too - follow the info in other posts and stay close to the Reds)

Jimmy Mackey (sp?) was a gracious and professional host (dock master/GM) - provided line help, good conversation and helpful references for eating (there are no facilities on site and the choices 'in town' are slim).

Internet is available (but we didn't use), bath house and pool close and the rockers on the porch were great! Pet friendly.

We will be sure to visit again!

Favorite Stop, 2016-06-10
Captain: , Suffolk, VA (141)

Dozier's is our regular stopover in Deltaville. Easy in/out as it is the first marina you come to. Good floating docks. Pulled in after stormy ride down the bay, came in after hours but traded emails with the dockmaster (cell phone didn't have signal). He told us to take whatever open slip we liked and he would leave info in the captain's lounge. All was as he said! Doziers has some of the best bathroom/shower facilities we've found with individual bathrooms that are extremely clean. Nice small pool. Laundry. No food or other services but they do have a loaner car for dring the day. Bicysles to use, grills. Nice grounds. One thing... it is a little open to NW winds that can make it tricky, but otherwise a fine marina!

Great people, great place, 2016-06-08
Captain: , Cape Canaveral (1081)

We kept our boat at Dozier's over summer/fall 2015 and are doing so again for summer/fall 2016. A superb experience all around with every respect in 2015 and expect the same this summer. Recently, Jimmy Mackey, Dozier's harbor master, recommended Jimmy Olgers to repair my pilot house A/C system which a tech from Hilton Head had advised would require a new system due to a failed compressor at a cost of nearly $4000. Jimmy Oglers determined I only needed new start and run capacitors with a total cost less than $300. Great advice from Jimmy Mackey and great work by Jimmy Olgers. Regatta Point is a great place.

We kept our boat here for three months this summer (2014). Jack and Craig Dozier are great folks and run a clean, well appointed marina with super people as employees. Dave, Trisha, and Sissy were helpful, friendly, and just a real pleasure to be around. We look forward to keeping our boat here again.

Where is everybody?, 2016-04-26
Captain: , Iuka, MS (1120)

We were the only transients there on 4/21/16. Not many other boats either. Clean, well-kept facility. Loaner van to get to town. Also biked to Cocomo's (sp?) about 2.2 miles on flat roads.

Another Visit, 2015-11-01
Captain: , Hilton Head, SC (909)

October 2015
We wanted to come back to this memorable location on our own boat, on our southbound journey. Jimmy (the manager) and other local sailors were very friendly and helpful. Floating concrete docks. They have replaced their welll water system with a Reverse Osmosis system for good water.

Facilities are clean and top notch. Easy in and out.

June 2010;
Our captain, John Kretschmer, called to see if they could accomodate a 7' draft sailboat and we were reassured that if we stayed right in the middle of the channel, we'd be good. We were greeted at the long concrete floating dock and were treated to first class accomodations - very clean facilities, an air conditioned Captain's Lounge w/sat TV and pool on premises. A local restaurant Toby's, picked us up and dropped us off. All in all, a great visit. Will look to get back there. (Interesting sailboats seem to make their home there - a huge Gozzard, a mid 70s Swan 44, Fisher 37, Island Packet)

Great Marina Conviently located, 2015-11-01
Captain: , St. Petersburg, FL (210)

Dockmaster came out and helped us dock. He was very infomative. We borowed the marina loaner car 2 times to do some grocery shopping and hit West Marine. Also the local hardware store has just about anything you need. The marina also has movies they loan. Cocomo's is a good nearby restaurnant.
Departing a different dockmaster did not offer to help us depart and their pump out did not work.

Greast Place to Stay, 2015-10-31
Captain: , Ft. Lauderdale (420)

Arrived 10-24-15 with a marina sponsored dock party in progress. Excellent docks with r/o water. Great dockmaster. Beautiful setting.

Very helpful staff, 2015-10-20
Captain: , Mystic,CT (202)

Jim the manager was very helpful to us. Stayed late to help us dock. Clean bathrooms/showers. 24 hour lounge with TV, pool. Beautiful location!!!!

Nice Facility, 2015-08-15
Captain: , Corpus Christi, TX (702)

Have stayed here many times. Most recent rate was $ 1.85/ft; $8.50/week. Strong wifi but internet connection often come and go; need more bandwidth? Staff friendly, but could be even better by tweeking radio responsiveness and docking instruction and technique.

One great marina. , 2015-07-27
Captain: , Wilmington, NC (618)

Great location. Couldn't ask for a better marina. Jimmy and his staff were great. New pool, BBQ area as well. Don't miss this stop.

Dozier's is great for a long or short stay, 2015-07-20
Captain: , Toledo Beach Marina (10)

We have stayed here twice so far, but will return many times! Jimmy Mackey the facility manager is awesome to work with. His courtesy and restaurant recomendations are spot on. We left our boat here for a month in June 2015 and not only the staff, but the marina regulars kept a close eye on everything. There is a wonderful mix on seasonal "regulars" that really make you feel welcome (just try to keep up at docktail time!) and transiets. Many of those nice encounters happen at the long and comfortable porch with rocking chairs (nice boaters lounge too) -- or the new pool that was installed for the 2015 season.

There are nice concrete floating docks, a pumpout that is free (self-service) and really works well, professionally maintained bathouse with 3 individual and air conditioned shower rooms/stool/sink each for men and women. Grills are provided in two areas of the marina; the gounds are very nice and professionally maintained, and there are 3 courtesy cars you can sign out for trips to town. There is no bike path to town, but riding your bike to town is not a problem on the blacktop road.

In town there is an amazing hardware store (Hurd's - ask for Sam) for regular hardware and serious marine products too. If Sam does not have it, he can get it, and it will be a better price than West Marine. The West Marine is a nice new and large facility however. There is an ABC Liquor store and carry out pizza in a nearby plaza; and the farmers market (a real working farm) is right across from the Deltaville Market (grocery) which is way above average. Worth separate note is the JW Seafood fresh fish market and they have a pretty good bait and tackle shop at JW too.

In 2014/15 we have stayed a month or more each in Cocoa Village, FL; Stuart, FL; and Jacksonville, FL (Ortega Landing) and Dozier's rates right at the top of the list for fun, value and a friendly memorable time. 5 star all the way around.

Very accommodating, 2015-06-30
Captain: , Central Illinois (497)

Very nice marina. Everything is clean and fresh. good docks. Staff was very helpful. Jimmy was very helpful with my courtesy car needs. You can't beat sitting in the rocking chairs on the porch and overlooking the marina and just relaxing.

Not Transient Friendly, 2015-06-23
Captain: , Solomons (10)

Good luck getting to town after they close. Courtesy cars aren't available after hours. Bikes are too dangerous at night. Taxi service is too far out. The restaurant that picks up is unreliable. The marina assured me that we could get to town to eat dinner. After we paid, they explained that they were closing at 5:00 and we couldn't use their cars. Restaurant pick up didn't happen and no one would answer their phone. I won't return. I got the impression that this marina just wanted my money for the night and isn't interested in future business.

Perfect Marina, 2015-05-24
Captain: , Herrington Harbour, MD (680)

A first class marina, everything clean and modern. Plenty of water in the channell and great floating docks. The pump out hose could be longer as you have to go to the end of the inside of the marina to reach it. Wi fi excellent. A car to use. Easy in and out. Friendly people.

Always Stop Here, 2014-10-21
Captain: , Cambridge, MD (170)

We have stopped here every trip north or south. We have never been disappointed. Jimmy and Staff take great pride in making your stay comfortable. Great MTOA and BoatUS discounts, loaner cars, grills, great WIFI, pet friendly, nice boaters lounge make Dozier's a must stop

Great Marina and Excellent Service, 2014-10-18
Captain: , Calgary (281)

We stayed in the marina for a week and could not have been happier. The facilities is spotless and well kept. Jimmy Mackey provides an excellent, friendly and professional service. The setting is great as well. We plan to do some renovations on our boat and received very good advice from Jimmy. No wonder this marina is so well rated by others

Nice stop, but take a slip inside, 2014-10-07
Captain: , Branford, CT (900)

On approach, we were offerred an inside slip or the face dock. We picked the face dock. We should have gone inside to a slip. The first night was calm. Our second night, wind was 10-15 from the south. It was not a terrible roll, and it calmed down late at night, but inside would have been more comfortable.

We got up early for a sinrise departure (7:05 am). Starting about 6:45 the watermen started leaving the harbor. About 30 of them. It was quiet a parade. Although they were going slow, I don't think I could have slept through it. Take a slip inside.

Clean marina, friendly staff, nice captains lounge, 3 courtesy cars. If there was more attractions in the area it would be 5 stars. Still, a nice spot!

First Class facility, 2014-10-01
Captain: , Erie, Pa. (1866)

Easy approach 8 feet of water all the way in, good floating docks, electric power terrific, 235 volts per leg on two legs, this is a big issue for a boat drawing a lot of juice. Facility and grounds very nice. In late and out early, Jimmy, dockmaster arranged to have a boater assist us on way in, nice touch.

Excellent Marina, 2014-09-01
Captain: , Oriental,NC (327)

Couldn't have been happier staying here on our trip south during the winter. Nice slips, great amenities and the courtesy car was great to go into town (5 min. drive) to reprovision.

First class operation, 2014-08-08
Captain: , Virginia Beach (10)

Stayed here for two nights on 8/4 and 8/5 2014. A great marina. Jimmy Mackay was on the dock to greet us. Lovely chap, very friendly and knowledgeable. Wide new floating docks, clean and comfortable restrooms, and a nice lounge area with books, computer, TV etc. Laid back atmosphere, in a beautiful setting. I can see why this marina gets consistently high marks. We will be back.

A Fabulous Marina - Don't Miss It!, 2014-08-06
Captain: , Marathon, Florida (110)

Floating docks, clubhouse, pool, bathhouse - all extremely well maintained. Jimmy Mackey is fabulous and extremely helpful - he works hard to make every visit special. Courtesy cars get you to everything in town - nice local grocery, seafood market, produce, Hurd's Hardware (where Sam can help you with anything marine) as well as West Marine (Maggie is very helpful!). When you depart, you will have made great friends!

Excellent marina, 2014-08-04
Captain: , Bethlehem, PA (696)

Excellent marina. Pump out on inside dock which may be more difficult to get to. Clean and air-conditioned showers, laundry, cruisers lounge. Pool is small but very nice with seating around. Loved the rocking chairs on the front porch. Excellent staff, very helpful with everything. Courtesy cars are nice cars. Stayed a month, loved it.

Very nice!, 2014-07-11
Captain: , Pines Lake, NJ (391)

We spent a month here while having our boat fitted with new canvas and enclosure. The facilities are first rate and the staff is friendly and very helpful. Multiple courtesy cars and bikes make it easy to get around to sight see or get to the local restaurants, grocery store, West Marine etc. before you go to West Marine stop at Hurds Hardware, you may find what you want at much lower cost. If you need any canvas work done I highly recommend. C2 Custom Canvas. They are great and are used to working with Transients passing through. Just call them ahead of time to get on their schedule.

Floating docks, wide slips, wide fairway, easy in and easy out.

Dozier's will be a stop on our way back south in the fall.

Dozier's Regatta Point is a must stop heading up the bay, 2014-06-19
Captain: , Englewood, Fl (351)

This was an excellent stop for us. We attended the Monk 36 rendezvous during the first week of June 2014. Then left the boat here for another week while we attended to some business back home. The facilities are excellent and the staff was wonderfull. We highly recommend Dozier's Regatta Point Yachting Center.

06/12/2014. Very much a resort style marina. easy to get to and the staff is first class! Privae showers and heads. 3 for men and three for women. Floating docks. Three loaner cars and a short ride into shopping, including a great West Marine. A great visit!

AGLCA rewind, 2014-05-22
Captain: , Fort Myers Beach, FL (361)

Many boats from the AGLCA rendezvous in Norfolk were here. It was a continuation of the rendezvous for us.
Very nice facilities. We biked a lot for exercise and groceries. Deltaville has most everything you would expect from a smaller community. There is not a Catholic church however.
We will certainly return if ever back in the area.

very clean great hospitality, 2014-05-20
Captain: , Palm Beach Gardens, FL (1897)

We just spent two nights there, the facility is very clean professionally run and the extras are very good.
The courtesy cars are in good shape as us the Captains lounge and pool.
Westmarine is just down the road and we would definitely stop there again.

Great Place to Kick Off "Bay Trippin", 2014-05-16

Really nice, helpful people. Clean well maintained marina with outdoor grilling area, games, and a great porch to watch the sunset. Supersized West Marine, good seafood market, and grocery just a hop and a skip away.

Great Hospitality, 2014-05-11

The marina is great with many amenities, nice docks, picnic area with 4 grills, nice rest room and showers and 3 loaner cars. Could use another washer/dryer since they only have one. Thoroughly enjoyed our visit there.

Elegant Hideaway, 2014-05-08
Captain: , Punta Gorda, Fl (880)

Dozier's at Regatta Point is a lovely immaculate marina nestled in the pines. Docks are floating cement with reverse osmosis water supply at each slip. The main building has a nice boaters lounge with tv and computer for use, besides a large meeting room. The front porch has comfy rocking chairs overlooking the marina and a great spot to enjoy the cardinals song. The newly renovated bathhouse is located closeby, as are the laundry and pool. There is a nice BBQ area that is well maintained. Bikes provided. The courtesy car is for 1 hour, which allows you to provision, stop at the hardware store, West Marine, and drive around town! We did bike to town and visited the new Deltaville Maritime Museum Park. Saturday is a farmer's market there. The Railway restaurant (formerly Cocomos) will pick you up. Also Dano pizza deilvery was tastey and on time. We look forward to returning here someday.

Nice Place, 2014-04-13

Nice Folks, No Water, 2013-12-16
Captain: , Crockett (610)

Stopped by for one night on our way south. The lady in the office was quite nice, but informed us they had no potable water. Fortunately we didn't need any, but it would have been nice to know when we made the reservation.

We left early and really did not explore the facilities, but they seemed well maintained.

No Water,, 2013-11-01
Captain: , Plymouth MA (10)

Was through there on our trip south. Marina is very nice. Dave and Trish were wonderful people and very helpful getting the boat tied up and getting us what we needed. The downside is there is no water. All the water taps are marked non-potable, thought there is a sign that says the water is safe to drink. We didn't fill our tanks. Nice place, just make sure you fill your water tanks some where else.

Really well maintained, 2013-10-21
Captain: , Catawba Island, OH (523)

The staff is very helpful and friendly. The grounds, docks and facilities are very well maintained. Nice showers and rest rooms.

This is HQ for Doziers Waterway Guides and they were discounted 20% while we were there (mid Oct 2013)...not sure if this is always the case.

There was a bit of a swell depending on which dock you are on, and the prevailing wind direction.

A Class Act, 2013-10-08

Outstanding Marina, 2013-09-04
Captain: , Annapolis, MD (310)

This is one of best marinas I%u2019ve been to in a long time. The transient slips are floating and well padded. The staff is outstanding and came out to meet me at the slip. The grounds are gorgeous complete with fountain. The facilities are very clean (and air conditioned) and include a washer and drier. ($4.00 per load, get quarters) There%u2019s a nice salt water pool. Please be sure to follow the guidance on the use of water. This is the place to stop if you are coming through Deltaville.

Exceptionally clean facilities and very helpful staff. Called ahead and they were on the dock waiting to help us into our slip! Everyone we encountered here was friendly and helpful, staff and slip holders alike.
Grills, Bikes, Courtesey cars, a huge porch with rocking chairs and a gorgeous view of the river as well as a captains lounge with a big screen TV and comfy furniture make this a place that feels much like a resort. The salt water pool, deck and ceramic tiled individual bathrooms with showers are some of the nicest and cleanest we have seen.
This one's a keeper!
Coffee and donuts were in the captains lounge before 7AM! And the Waffles and bacon breakfast on Sundays that Trish and David prepared was a treat! the $5.00 cost is donated by the marina owners to the Maritime Museum.

Quick stop Update 2013: still the same., 2013-08-02

WiFi was good Aug 1 2013
We stayed here 3 nights. Good marina and nice staff. No restaurant, though they will let you use the courtesy car. Very boaty town. You can find anything you need here... Close.
No protection from any wind with an N in it.

Top Notch Marina, 2013-07-25
Captain: , Abilene, TX (210)

Stayed total of 6 nights over two stops, 2nd stop we had N wind and it was uncomfortable out on face dock, next day staff just asked where in marina did we want to be and jumped in to help us relocate. Great little pool, staff is over the top helpful and friendly. Very nice facility.

Easy entry from Rappahanock river. Nice clean facilities and very helpful staff. We will come back to this marina.

Maintaining High Standards, 2013-07-06

Excellent marina for transients. Complete facilities (okay, exercise facilities a little light but not a personal priority while cruising) and staff goes out of their way to make your stay pleasant.

Outstanding Customer Service!, 2013-06-17
Captain: , Jacksonville, FL (161)

We stayed here on June 4, 2013 after a very rough trip from Portsmouth. Our dog had an ear infection and we called ahead to Dozier's to inquire about getting some cleansing supplies. Craig Dozier, one of the Owners, went to town and bought the needed supplies and had them for us when we docked! We were very grateful for this outstanding hospitality! This is an easy Marina in which to maneuver and dock. The dock hands are very knowledgable and did a great job in tying us up and connecting shore power. All of the staff is friendly and accommodating. Restaurants are nearby, and some will transport you to and from the marina. The grounds of the marina are nicely landscaped and inviting. There are great areas to walk a dog. We really enjoyed our stay at this facility and will come back if we get the chance.

Helpful dock hand ? offered us a covered slip which was very welcome because our AC was not working (he didn't know this when he offered the slip). Friendly personnel. Loaner car, pool, washers @ dryers. If you need Skipper Bob's or Waterway Guides, they are available there.

Fine facility, 2013-06-09

Helpful dock crew. Laundry, pool, loaner car for town access. Grilles available. Location is exposed to northwest. Any other wind direction is excellant protection.

Great Marina, 2013-05-22
Captain: , Port Royal, SC (231)

Deltaville is truly Boatville. One of the biggest West Marine stores I've seen. Marina has floating docks and beautiful facilities. Be careful about the water as there are red and blue faucets. Red is for drinking and blue is for washing the boat. The town doesn't offer anything fancy, but necessities are there and a courtesy car/bikes are available.

Not as nice as we had expected, 2013-05-11
Captain: , Athens, AL (641)

That's not a negative review - we've just always heard of Doziers and Deltaville as a must-see stop. It was a very nice marina but not much to the town. The courtesy car is handy - we used it for runs to a hardware store, West Marine, and groceries. The porch and rockers, boaters lounge, showers/restrooms, and pool were all very nice. But still not sure why so many view it as a must-see location.

Great spot, 2013-02-27
Captain: , Tracys Landing, Maryland (350)

Stayed here on our way south after Sandy in early November. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Docks are nice, and the courtesy car for grocery runs is a huge plus!

Big marina with personal service, 2013-01-01
Captain: , New Orleans, LA (631)

Stayed there for 2 nights in July 2012. It was our first visit. Dockmaster gave the clearest instructions on VHF of any of the 21 marinas we visited over the summer. That got our visit off on the right foot. The courtesy car was a big help, because there's not really very much in walking distance. Bike riding on the highway can be scary -- no shoulder! There's a very big new West Marine in town, and a good grocery story. If I had to find a negative, I'd have to point out that we never found a restaurant that was up to the high standard set by this marina

Great Stop, 2012-11-19
Captain: , Fort Pierce Florida (300)

Stopped pretty late in the year, but still was a great place. Nice floating docks, great lounge and clean restrooms. Staff was great. Had to return marina car by 5:00 but manger offered to take us to and from diner in his own car if we couldn't get a pick-up from the restaurant. Couldn't have been a better stop.

Nice facility, 2012-11-18
Captain: , Oxford, Md (130)

Nice floting docks, individual bathrooms, great lounge, plesant staff! Can't say enough, dockmaster came in on his day off to get us situated. Cocomos restraunt (good food) in town will pick you & return you for dinner.

Great Captains lounge, 2012-11-14
Captain: , Annapolis, MD (90)

We stayed one night and had the Captain's lounge all to ourselves with large screen TV - a real treat for us. It was very comfortable with sectional and chairs, coffee, books, magazines and home like atmosphere. Bathrooms were clean, three piece (sink, toilet and shower) and private. Staff was helpful and friendly. Not however within easy walking distance to town in the evening - unlit road with no sidewalk or walking path.

Easy access from the Chesapeake.

Easy access, Great place, 2012-11-10
Captain: , Annapolis (125)

We were pushing it to get here before dark, they waited for us past their closing and put us on a floating pier. They are the first marina on the port side coming in to Broad Creek real easy and very close to the bay.

Top Notch.., 2012-11-07
Captain: , Woodbridge (278)

Have made this marina a must stop long weekend marina for the last several years. Easy access, floating docks, saltwater pool, loaner car and great staff. We've pretty much warn out their smoker and grills. Expect to meet a few 'loopers' and have some really enjoyable conversations.

Easy Access from the Bay, 2012-10-21

Regatta Point is easy in-easy out at the mouth of the Rappahannock River. Floating Docks, courtesy car, bicycles, ice, pumpout but no fuel. Oruvate bathrooms w/showers. Minimal ships store.

Could have stayed longer..., 2012-10-09
Captain: , Oriental (270)

This was a very nice facility. Very nice, clean floating docks in great condition. Beautiful buildings including a HUGE covered front porch spanning the front of the building looking out across the Rappahanock River (with eye relieving adjustable sun shades that roll down as needed) and a large lounge with comfy couches, tables covered in books and magazines, coffe/cocoa and donuts, a large flat screen tv with all the chanels you could hope for and more! The bath house was very nice and clean with 3 (?maybe 4) each men's/women's individual rooms with sink/counter/mirrors, toilet, and shower. The water pressure was a little low (with four of us showeing simultaneously) as they are on well water. The water at the docks is either regular well water for washing down boats or the special taps with filtered (yet chlorinated for safety) water for filling boat tanks. The pool is salt water and my daughter enjoyed it on October 6th! The facilities really are delightful.

Great laid back Marina, 2012-08-09
Captain: , Punta Gorda, FL (555)

We really enjoyed our visit here with one and only one exception...the dock water. They have two faucets, one for drinking water and one for washing down your boat. The drinking water faucet is supposedly RO water. Well, we have a RO watermaker on our boat, so we know a bit about RO systems. Something isn't right with their system. The water tastes just plain funkey, and is a shade of brown when you fill a white bucket. We met and spoke with locals here who also have the same problem. Seems that everyone just buys drinking water. So, just a word of caution, don't expect to fill your water tanks here. Other than that, it's a clean, friendly, and well run marina.

Home port for us, 2012-08-05
Captain: , Deltaville, Va (91)

We've been at Doziers for about 10 months now and can highly recommend this place for long term or transient dockage. The owners, staff and accommodations are first rate!

Easy to get into and out of and the staff is helpful with docking. Just give them a shout when you're a few minutes out and they'll be waiting at your slip.

Weekend breakfasts, movie nights, terrific wifi, nice pool and'll definitely enjoy your stay!

One of our best stops!, 2012-08-04
Captain: , baltimore md (634)

Easy docking. Great pool, in one of the hottest summers ever. Offered great looper discount and then I started stating all organizations we belonged to...MTOA, AAA,AARP. Margie had humor and stopped my over enthusiastic approach for discounts. Great harbor hosts, Craig and Jack Dozier. Excellent dockmasters, Chuck and Fabin Miller & Loopers on "Whichaway". Fun wine and cheese party first night we were there. Courtesy car and decent grocery store, ABC, ACE Hardware, etc. Stop here!

Dozier's in Deltaville, Va, 2012-07-20
Captain: , Mystic, Ct (279)

Beutifull marina. It looks new. Nice pool and floating docks. !.75 per foot plus 5.00 per day for 30 amp electric. BoatUS members pay 1.50 per foot plus 5.00 for 30 amp electric. This has to be the nicest marina we have stayed at so far. They also offered a loaner car if needed. Nice clean and updated bathrooms. The porch is a nice place to sit and relax. Very helpfull and friendly staff.

Very Nice Marina, 2012-07-10
Captain: , Solomons, MD (882)

When coming to Deltaville, we had to chose among the 10 or so marinas in the area. Several had the amenities we were looking for (courtesy cars, pool, TV, etc.). The reason we chose Dozier's is because several reviewers on AC said there was an active social life. Although we enjoyed all the amenities, we saw absolutely no indication of a social life for transient cruisers, slip holders or anyone else. In fact, we saw more goings-on at other local marinas than at Doziers. Maybe we were at the wrong end of the dock, maybe we were gone when they had an event, I don't know. Don't get me wrong, Dozier's is a very nice marina. But because we enjoy meeting fellow cruisers, and because some marinas seem to be a bit cheaper, we may try one of them next time around.

Country Club of the Rappahanock!, 2012-06-20
Captain: , Topsail Beach, NC (480)

We've stayed here several times and it is always wonderful. Great dock help and "marina hosts" to assist with all your needs. Lots of fun on weekends with many docktails, etc. Docks are outstanding....floating and stable. Only complaints are that courtesy cars are very limited (hour maximum, not available after hours to go to restaurants). Also, wish they had trash containers closer to docks instead of having to go all the way to dumpster. But the positives outweigh the negatives: great club room with big screen TV; good book exchange; donuts and coffee every morning; a wonderful veranda with rocking chairs to view magnificent sunsets. Huge, brand new West Marina just opened....largest on east coast. (May require longer than an hour with the courtesy car!!)

Very nice at a great price, 2012-06-18
Captain: , Dunedin, FL (6425)

Well marked channel coming in, lots of help docking. Cleats solid and very well placed on nice floating docks. Very clean restrooms/showers/pool. Veranda on office building great place for nightly socializing with locals and transients. Large, clean gorunds; lots of walking area for your dogs. We lucked out and had Grandma's Peach French Toast on the veranda, for very nominal charity donation. Loaner cars available, 3 mile ride into town for grocery, restaurants, and a new West Marine.

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Dozier's ... A country club setting with nicely landscaping, pool, BBQ area, bikes, and clean facilities. Great porch with rocking chairs to watch the sun go down. Staff is helpful and friendly and made a delicious Sunday brunch.

Great stop to weather the storm, 2012-05-09
Captain: , Mystic, CT (150)

We pulled in after a rocky day on the lower Chesapeake Bay and with the promise of rain the next night stayed 2-nights. This is a fantastic stop with the 3-courtesy cars and bikes. The grocery store is a bit far by bike but great by car. They have a West Marine, True Value Hardware and ABC Liquors. The facility is clean and has great bathrooms. The staff is great. Will definately stop again!

Nice place, 2012-04-22
Captain: , Seaford, VA (783)

Dock has nice floating piers, and you can watch all the action of boats coming and going up the creek. Very nice showers, small but adequate pool. Add to that free loaner cars or bikes, wifi, a captains' lounge, and a large meeting room that they let us use. It was crazy hot last July and any outside gathering was out of the question.
My only problem was with the water... and it may have been due to the excessive heat. They treated the reverse osmosis system with cholorine to kill algae. Apparently it wasn't enough because large gobs of green kept coming out of the drinking water hose. The management said they would have it serviced again, but I didn't want to take a chance so i went to West Marine and bought an inline filter just to be sure.
Great place to bike ride and just look at all the boats. We will be back for a longer stay.

Two waters, 2012-04-05
Captain: , Rock Hall MD (91)

Each dock has two faucets, on for washing the boat and one for rinsing and drinking water. The drinking water is treated by reverse osmosis to remove the iron and other substances. Great well run marina.

November 2011. Ducked in here to get out of a NE blow. Nice facility and good rates. You will need a ride, not within walking distance of restaurants. Rocked all night and dont use the water for anything other than washing the boat. Helpful staff who assisted with where not to go as well as where to go.

stayed on 10/21/11, 2011-11-05
Captain: , Bear, DE (255)

Narrow channel to enter but well marked. Good docking facilities. They constructed a sea wall on the river side but you still get rocked if you tie up on the outside. Inside slips are more protected. Staff is great, helpful and friendly. Not much going on nearby but with the amenities provided here you don't need to go anywhere.

Great Stop, 2011-11-04

The marina and clean and up to date. Staff stayed late to help us dock. Coffee and juice in the maorning and a wide screen TV in the lounge.

Best of Deltaville, 2011-10-25
Captain: , City Island New York (600)

$1.25 for MTOA members (normally $1.90) + $12 electric. This is a lovely bucolic marina, the people are terrific, you can have a free loaner car for an hour, but unless you HAVE to go to re-provision in town don't bother, there is NOTHING worth seeing/doing. We had a peaceful night and enjoyed our time here.

Good price and good people, 2011-10-22
Captain: , Portsmouth (163)

Stayed there for a month- everyone was nice- facilities clean- quiet- outside dock gets very bouncy in a wnw, nw & north strong wind.

Make sure to filter your water before you put it in your tank!- Well water with growth- caught lots of boaters by surprise.

Great Marina, 2011-10-03

Beautiful facility with new floating docks. Very easy access. Above average bathrooms. Courtesy car. Great people. Have stayed here 2 times and will stay again. Deltaville is a great boating center but lacks the ambiance and vitality of other bay towns.

Excellent Marina, 2011-08-17

Stayed one night. Excellent facilities. The channel is a little tight. the green side is not marked, stay about 50 feet off the reds for the center of the channel.
Local restaurants will pick you up.

What a terrific place !, 2011-08-14
Captain: , Deltaville (200)

What a great place !

We stayed over a month here in preparation to get hauled out next door at Stingray Point Boat Works and just chilled out. Sure Deltaville is a little out of the way, but everything you really need is within range of the excellent loaner cars they have and what other town has TWO West Marine stores within 300 yards ?

All the good things others have said is definately still true as at August 2011. The staff here are professional, friendy and helpful. They work very hard to make sure you have a good time while you are here.

Very pet friendly and great for walking or borrowing the bikes and taking a ride into town.

Just like his publications, Dozier's Waterway Guides, Jack Dozier's Regatta Point Marina is a "must visit". He's taken all the ameneties of the marinas he reports on in his guides and has incorporated them in this facility. Elegant Captain's Lounge, floating docks, loaner car, easy access, pool and manicured grounds. Personable Chris Goodchild will assist you in docking and, if you are of a mind as we were, will entertain you with his infectious sense of humor and personality. Heading to or from from Norfolk/Hampton, an ideal stop.

Probably the best run marina I have been to, 2011-07-02
Captain: , Varies - Home in Charlotte, NC (192)

This is a beautiful little harbor that I was coming in for one night but liked it so much we stayed an additional night and called other boaters that were traveling with us to suggest that they come as well.
The staff was very helpful, the facilities were spotless with nice showers, washer and dryer and pool. THe grounds were neat and they had it all. The second night we were there they had a wine and cheese party and had doughnuts and coffee every morning.
If we didn't have reservations in Washington, DC for the Fourth of July, we would have stayed longer.
Call ahead for reservations.

Great place to stay, 2011-06-21
Captain: , Warsaw, Ky (875)

We planned to come in for one night and ended up staying 11 due to water pump issues and weather.

Staff is very professional, friendly and helpful. A staff member was right there to assist us in getting in. Assisted us in getting a technician to repair our boat. Local yards were booked for 4 - 5 weeks out and the marina staff assisted us in getting a repair person to come from Norfolk to get us back on the water, saving us at least 2 - 3 weeks downtime.

Laundry and bath facilities are well above average as is the overall facility. On Sunday's they have a breakfast, $5.00 per. The marina sponsored 2 wine and cheese get togethers while we were there.

Local restaurant, Cocomo's, is a must try.

Marina owner is, Jack & Craig Dozier, owners of the Waterway Guide. Both were on site while we were there.

Great place for a rendezvous, 2011-06-10

Regatta Point has it all. Great floating docks, great staff, clean restrooms and showers, courtesy cars, and wifi. We attend the Monk 36 Rendezvous here and the meeting room and other accomodations were fantastic.

We will be back!!

Nice new floating docks and friendly staff. GREAT cookout area - shaded, multiple grills (even a smoker) and picnic tables. Small but nice pool. It was way too hot when we were there for us to explore the town, so we'll be back.

UPDATE: Weather forced an unplanned return to this marina less than a week after we had stayed there. They were able to take our two boats at the last minute without trouble. They have a courtesy car that we used to get to town and reprovision. What a wonderful staff - not only will we be back next year, but we will plan for multiple days here.

nice facility, 2010-06-22
Captain: , Buffalo (1144)

No one would answer our radio calls, so we just headed for an empty slip. By the time we got there someone was waiting to take our lines.
This marina is owned by the company that publishes the guidebooks of the same name. The marina is clean, and well maintained. It is exposed to north winds. The air conditioned Captains lounge is a nice touch. It would have rated a five star if the staff had been more attentave

Good Stop Choice, 2010-06-20
Captain: , Green Cove Springs FL (1380)

Dozier's found space for us in the middle of a major trawler rendezvous at their faciltiy. Spacious, first class facility with a very freindly staff. When the owner comes down to help with your lines and extend a hearty Welcome, you feel immediately at home Thoroughly enjoyed our stay. M/Y Allez!

High standard of service, 2010-06-14
Captain: , Key Biscayne FL (3048)

This marina sets the standard for customer service and overalll value.
Jack Dozier himself meets the cruisers and helps tie up. THe marina is a bit shallow at low tide (6.5') which makes my 5' draft trawler hard to mauver into a slip. There is a tight turn from the harbor into the basin that again at low tide is difficult.

Restaurants will pick you up but we have been disappointed here. Toby's was a poor choice. For $20 entrees the food was not good.

Doesn't Get Any Better, 2010-05-14
Captain: , Twin Dolphin Marina (271)

Great, well-kept marina with extremely personable staff. The well water leaves a little to be desired, so ask for a slip with an RO faucet; but other than that there isn't much left to be desired. As mentioned, they have a couple loaner cars and some bicycles which makes getting around a lot easier.

If given the choice, I highly recommend a stay at Regatta Point!

Winning Bid, 2009-06-06
Captain: , New Rochelle, NY (1000)

I had the winning bid, in a silent auction at the last DeFever Cruisers Association rendezvous, for a two night stay at this marina. The dockmaster is Larry and he can't do enough for you. I needed a mechanic and he recommended Bill Patterson who was prompt and did a great job. Dinner at Toby's was outstanding. I even got to meet the famous Jack Dozier who was most gracious. They have a loaner car and donuts and coffee in the morning.

Quiet and Sheltered, 2009-06-05
Captain: , Memphis TN (977)

We had a good experience at Doziers. Was concerned about coming in at low tide with a 49 foot vessel with 5 ft draft. Called for local knowledge and was told to simly hug the first green mark, then drive to 50 ft off the second red mark and then down the channel. Was so. Also was told that they have scheduled to widen and deepen the channel this year. Facilities were very nice, with a great porch with rocking chairs. Got picked up by Coco's restaurant and the meal was great.
With there courtesy cars you can get to West Marine, grocery, auto parts, etc.

Nice Place, 2008-08-21
Captain: , Alexandria VA (59)

We enjoyed a weekend stay here. The facility is top notch with helpful friendly staff. The shower/baths are among the best as are the relatively new floating docks. The marina is pretty far from the village of Deltaville and to assist they provide complementary bikes or a short term courtesy car. There is no restaurant on site. Some area restaurants pick folks up and this is a great service, like Cocomos restaurant which was very flexible and accommodating. While Toby's was highly recommended they don't pick up after 7 pm so we missed out on trying it. No worry as we had a wonderful sunset supper at our slip. The up side of the marina location is that it is a quiet and peaceful setting with great views of the coming and goings on the creek. We'll come back here often.

Terrific country marina, 2008-07-07
Captain: , Oxford, MD (4)

A brand new, cozy friendly place. It's of course not near much but they offer a loaner car for local shopping , etc. There is a wonderful porch with rocking chairs together with morning coffee and doughnuts with a beautiful view of the Broad Creek. I would have given it 5 stars if it didn't have such poor well water (they offer reverse osmosis treated water in some slips).

Captain: , Belhaven, NC (363)

After a very rough day on the bay, I requested an easy "bow in-starboard tie slip". over the VHF. Margie knew I was tired and graciously accommodated me. The weekly rate, bathrooms, laundry, wonderful docks, courtesy cars and helpful staff make Dozier's a keep coming back-er.

Very good facility, 2007-07-09
Captain: , Newport, RI (10275)

We just stored our boat at Regatta Point for our second season in the Chesapeake. We really liked Regatta Point due to their floating docks since we aren't local to the area to adjust lines in case of a storm. Last year when the remnants of Ernesto blew through there was a 5' surge and many of the fixed docks at other marinas suffered a lot of damage, but Regatta point came through without many problems. You pay more than other marinas in the area, but you get more.

The marina has a very nice pool which is heavily used on weekends. Their bathrooms are kept very clean. They have 2 courtesy cars which are available during the day. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Jack Dozier, who publishes the Waterway guides, is very hands on.

The area has lots of facilities for boats. For more details on the area, please go to and search for Deltaville.
