Reviews for Dow's Lake Pavillon Marina
Pump Out Not Working, 2016-06-17
Captain: , Westbrook CT (277)

Pump not working correctly. Staff is pleasant but not interested in knowledgeable advice.

Otherwise seems OK.

Better than previous reviews, 2015-07-12
Captain: , Houston, Texas (970)

We spent 3 nights here, June 23-25, 2015, and had a much better experience than previous reviews. The restrooms and showers were reasonably clean. The Pavilion can be party central with 4 restaurant/bar establishments, but we were there during the week and everything was quiet by 10PM, YMMV. We were also not docked on the Pavilion proper, but on the adjoining dock. A bit further to walk to the restrooms, but much quieter. The Marina people were very helpful. Wifi was good.
A bus stop for bus 85 to downtown is 2 blocks away. Three to five blocks away are the restaurants and bars of Little Italy.
On 6/26 gas was $1.39/l Can, diesel was $1.39/l Can, pumpout was $17 Can. docking $1.50 Can/ft,
30A power was $5.15/day Can.

Loud till late, 2014-12-17
Captain: , ottawa (1002)

Lot of patios and bars music was very loud to 1am. We payed the extra to stay at the secure dock because there was a large group of teens hanging out on the boardwalk. having said that its a great meal stop but I think next time Ill just stay at the locks for the night.

Dump in a nice neighborhood, 2014-09-02
Captain: , Ottawa (51)

We stayed here after a night at the top of the Ottawa Locks. We thought two nights in a row without showers might be an issue, so we booked a night here. Arriving the dock staff were young, but not very quick to direct us to a dock. The bathrooms were filthy, the showers (which also had a toilet) not much better. I had a quick shower, hoping that they would clean them overnight so I could actually have a longer more enjoyable one the next day. The next day we waited until the cleaning crews were done, the bathrooms were still filthy and water was still all over the shower room floors - not impressive at all. The slip they gave us was right next to the spot they let smokers out onto during parties - there was a party that night and we could hear the loud music every time someone came out for a smoke and opened the door until 2am. They have a security code and a gate, but we found the gate left open almost every time we went through it. Would likely not stay here again. However, if you don't need facilities, this place is right next to little italy with tonnes of great restaurants.

Fantastic Marina, 2013-09-06
Captain: , Ottawa, Ontario (21)

I have had my boat at Dow's Lake as a seasonal client for 3 years now. I must say that of the 5 other marinas I have been a member of over the years, Dow's Lake has to be by far the best. The staff are exceptional, the marina itself has all of the things a boater would need with more coming next year.

Fuel stop for diesel., 2012-07-19
Captain: , Lake Champlain, VT (271)

Diesel available. Friendly staff and easy to access. Didn't use other facilities, so can't comment

Not so friendly, 2012-06-22
Captain: , Jacksonville Fl (1520)

We were sent there by the lock staff in Ottawa as a place to take a shower. Apparently this has been the norm for some time. We were rudely informed that unless we had a boat there we could not use the facilities.

Handy spot away from the canal traffic, 2011-08-03
Captain: , Calgary, Alberta, Canada (854)

Clean marina with several good slips for larger transient boats and lots of dock help. Adjacent restuarants offer a wide selection of food. $25 taxi ride gets you to the parliament buildings downtown.

In town, 2009-08-14
Captain: , Lewes, DE (2517)

Marina staff is very helpful and accommodating. Punlic bus stops are right acrooss the street making it real easy to reach the downtown center, Also, Italian section of town is only one block away with a fabulous selection of restaurants.

Friendly Marina, 2009-07-05
Captain: , Grove, OK (337)

Friendly staff and fairly good location. Bus stop nearby to use public transpo into town. Three restaurants on location; all pretty good. Some slips without power. A bit noisy until the bars shut down. Security marginal.
