Reviews for Doctors Lake Marina
Great overnight, 2017-07-09
Captain: , Jacksonville Fl (1550)

Good stop prior to going on down the St Johns River. Our arrival was delayed untill after closing however staff left good directions on docking and where keys would be left. Fixed docks, not too high, clean secure bath and laundry area. Staff were very friendly and helpful the next day. Stopped there and fueled up again on our way back out the river again yesterday. Will definately return again.

Recent visit found all still good. Best fuel price on the river. Docks and grounds all clean and tidy. Great bike path to major shopping area 3 miles south.

If your buying diesel or gas this is still the place!!, 2017-05-17

cheapest I have seen in Florida!!

Good Fuel Stop, 2017-04-10
Captain: , Fort Monroe, VA (949)

Fuel today $2.23 for Valvetech diesel. Approach to fuel dock ws an immediate left after crossing under bridge. I draw 4.5' and saw 1' under the props at the fuel dock. If you draw more than 5' suggest watching the tide level and calling the marina. Staff met us at the fuel dock, was helpful and a pleasure to work with. Pumpout is on dock opposite fuel dock, making the transition from one side to the other interesting but doable. I did not use the other facilities of the marina but the wooden docks appear to be in good shape. If you are in the Ortega river marinas, this location is 9 miles south. Compair the fuel proces as Doctors Lake Marina providded a considerable savings, making the run down and back worth the time and effort.

NIce stop, but highway noise, 2017-03-19

Fuel prices are still $2.23 today. Nice dockmaster and liveaboards at the marina.
US 17 goes over the bridge adjacent to the marina and traffic noise is considerable, but it should quiet down some at night.

Decent marina Good Diesel price, 2017-01-14

1 14 2017 Stopped for diesel fuel $2.23. Friendly staff let us fill up or water tank at dock after fueling. Facilities Ok decent. Friendly people staying at marina.

Easy diesel and pump out stop, 2016-05-05
Captain: , Cape Canaveral (1191)

Easy access and great help from the dock staff. Very good price for Valve Tec. Plenty of depth for our 4' draft trawler just after high tide, though the approximately 1 foot tide is not much of a factor anyway.

Getting fuel is easy, 2016-04-29

Immediately after crossing trhe bridge, turn to port and idle in to the diesel pump. Minimum depth was seven feet at the pump, with more than ten feet on the approach.

Great stop on way south, 2015-12-02
Captain: , Jacksonville,Fl. (100)

Stopped here on my way from Jax beach to Sanford. Stayed for five days. The facilities are well maintained, really nice bathrooms with showers. The staff was very friendly and helpful as I was traveling by myself in a 44ft. boat which I had recently purchased. The only drawbach was no food close by.

Nice friendly marina, 2015-04-05

Doctors Lake Marina is my current home port. It is within 3 miles of many, many stores, gas stations, and restaurants. There is a small ship's store on site. Gas is available, but no diesel. Ice is available at the boathouse. Bathrooms are spartan, but OK. Laundry is available off the womens' bathroom.

Too much going on ..., 2014-11-25
Captain: , Daytona Beach, Florida (30)

Fixed uncovered docks are dried out, rotting, splinters (very slick when wet) nail heads sticking up everywhere ... water and electrical supply lines hanging down in the water under the docks. You risk your life pulling in or out of the parking lot with the traffic coming over the bridge.
Our draft is only 30" but we were plowing thru mud ... moved to another slip ... not much deeper, diver pulled crab traps and garbage out for nearly an hour. Real shame is this marina has a lot of potential but their to busy putting in private docks and other services to do any repairs but their quick to do "patch work" that is when their not rebuilding the office. Office clerk ... even when she made notes and promised to do things ... failed!
Not sure if I was the exception to the rule or what, have heard great things about the staff and should add that is wasn't a complete disaster, but close.

Fine for an overnight stopover, 2014-03-16
Captain: , Everett, Washington (824)

We have a 29 foot Ranger Tug and the dockmaster put us near the fuel dock that had a lot of traffic and wakes. We rocked and rolled until the sun went down and then all was quiet. The fixed docks, the proximity to a busy highway were all acceptable because it was a short stopover. The price was great, $1 a foot, the Wi-Fi worked and the staff and the neighbors were very friendly.

Our Home Base, 2013-09-24
Captain: , Green Cove Springs, FL (21)

We've looked at a lot of nice marinas and one or two not so nice. This facility, it's staff and those who make this their home port are friendly and the facilities are way above average. Additionally it's location is mostly protected from rough weather. Shopping opportunities are close to the North and slightly furthur to the South. You will find vessels from small to large making this their home along with various travelers stopping for fuel and provisions.
