Notes

This is a commercial fishing wharf. It is tucked in behind a large breakwater. That is what makes this a viable stop on your way up or down the Fundy coast. You can tuck in behind the breakwater and be sheltered from wind and waves. You will often find vacant moorings as boats are out fishing. Check with another fishing boat or someone on the dock for information on who is out for the day or night. You can also tie up at the wharf for a nominal fee, though it is reported that there is rarely anyone in or near the office to collect. There are no services dockside. There is a gas station/convenience store about 5 kms (3 miles) away. It has gas and diesel available.

Reviews for Dipper Harbour
Good stop half way between Saint John and Letang, 2015-08-22
Captain: , Cassiopea A (507)

There are no services here--it's purely a commercial fishing harbor. The massive breakwater provides decent protection. I tied up to a lobster car that seemed unused for the summer, but I saw a couple of other sailboats pick up vacant moorings.

The restaurant mentioned in several cruising guides has closed 8 years ago.

While there is no open WiFi here, I asked the occupant of one of the houses near the harbor, and he graciously gave me his password.

Good travel stop, 2013-08-09
Captain: , Fredericton (275)

I wouldn't go out of my way for this harbour but it is a handy place to stop. Not bad scenery. There is a nice little waterfall on the northeast side at low water. There is very little water at low but enough to anchor.

There is a fee for using a mooring or the wharf.

Dipper Harbour, 2012-10-05
Captain: , St. Andrews, New Brunswick (435)

The most attractive aspect of Dipper Harbour is the protection it offers. There is a large, government built, breakwater protecting the Harbour. The location is also attractive. Travelling p or down the coast you will be at the mercy of the tides. If you find yourself in the position that you will miss the tide geting throught the Reversing Falls in Saint John, or through Letite Passage on your way to St. Andrews, Dipper Harbour is a viable stop over. Likewise, if the weather or seastate kick up, you can duck into Dipper for shelter. This place is commercial and rustic, but friendly.
