Reviews for Deltaville Yachting Center
Marina Owner Response, 2017-07-17
Captain: , Deltaville, VA (10)

With 17 years of ownership we have wonderful customers who we appreciate very much. ABYC & Cummins, Onan, Yanmar, Dometic Certified Technicians Onsite. Named Chesapeake Bay Magazine Best of Bay 2017 in 6 categories. Named Coastal Magazine Readers Choice Silver Winner 2017 Best Marine Facility. Clean bath rooms, captains lounge & pool. Va. Health Dept. tested potable water.

Absolutely Horrible!, 2017-07-14
Captain: , Williamsport, MD (20)

Warning, you cannot drink the water. You can barely shower in the yellow smelly water. You have to bike to the local firehouse for potable water. Bathrooms are well below standard. Their once good tech service is gone since the veteran mechanics left for better jobs and now run by young inexperienced kids. We had many problems with their work and ultimately had to get the work redone at another marina yard. This is based on keeping our boat there two years. Most of the regulars have left also.

Great Place, Great Price, 2016-07-31
Captain: , Annapolis (434)

Everything here is very nice. As mentioned perviouly the Captain's Lounge is not air conditioned and in the heat of july it was a bit uncomfortable. Fortunately the heads do have AC. We were put on the far left dock where the water is a tad skinny at low tide. We saw about 5.2 feet in places. The docks are in good shape and the power is fine. The WiFi is strong but can be slow at the usual times. Theres a neat store on site. $1/foot!

Enjoyed our Stay, 2015-07-26
Captain: , Oriental, NC (190)

We stayed here July 5 & 6. July 5 was a Sunday and even though they are closed on Sundays, Onna told us which slip to pull in to and left us an information packet on the office door. Docks are in great shape. Facilities and grounds are well maintained. Bathrooms are a little dated but they are clean. Lounge is nice and even though it is not air-conditioned, there are enough fans to keep it fairly comfortable. Excellent Wi-Fi signal. Nice pool and store. Loaner car readily available. Excellent value for the money.

1st Class Service Dept, 2015-06-05
Captain: , Fort Worth, TX (450)

We highly recommend Deltaville Yachting Center for their 1st class service dept. Extremely knowledgable, prompt, experienced, and courteous. Clint and Nathan are top notch and took care of a variety of our urgent needs. The marina is very clean. The bathrooms are roomy and clean. (A blow dryer is even available along with other essentials you may need) There is a large dog walking area. Nice marina store. Beautiful crystal clear swimming pool. Great rates, courtesy car, friendly staff and owners who are truly interested in providing you with quality, satisfaction, and an enjoyable stay. Everyone working here are happy and seem to truly love what they do. It shows in their commitment to their customers. We are fortunate to know we can stop here along our travels and will be staying here often!

Visit this place!, 2014-08-08

Fair prices. Honors Boat U.S. Beautifully kept grounds. Helpful staff.

Very friendly marina with great service., 2014-06-11
Captain: , West River, MD (10)

This is a true yacht yard with COMPLETE service and great techs onsite. They also have a courtesy car to access nearby restaurants and West Marine. Their guest/boaters lounge is (IMHO) the best on the Bay.

Wonderful marina, 2014-06-03
Captain: , Englewood, FL (905)

Love Tis place. Loaner car we could use all day. Great facilities -clean, plentiful bathrooms & showers - pool, large captains lounge, well stocked store, friendliest people, peaceful & quiet docks.

Cleanest marina ever, 2013-08-25
Captain: , Stafford, VA (305)

Everything is spic-n-span from the piers to the pool to the bathhouse. The owners, Lew and Onna couldn't be nicer. We were provided a courtesy car to take into town for an entire day. It's a little tricky getting in, but Onna talked us in by radio and there was a dockhand waiting to help us tie up.

Nice people, bad channel, 2013-06-18
Captain: , Norfolk, VA (30)

The people there are very friendly and helpful. Facilities are good and good haulout if needed. Beware of the channel leading into the Marina. We grounded twice at low tide requiring a tow ($753 - thank goodness for insurance) and a two hour delay upon departure. We draw just under 5.5 feet and were in the center of the marked channel. I would go somewhere else if you draw over 4 feet. The channel needs to be seriously dredged so be careful. the area to watch is around the red "5" and beyond as you approach the marina.

Found by accident, 2013-02-05
Captain: , Shelburne, Nova Scotia (423)

We were on our way north one spring when a series of "calamities" led us to decide to leave our boat in the Chesapeake and continue home by car. we found this place quite by accident, in fact it just happened to be the place that the TowBoatUS skipper hauled us to. We couldn't have been luckier. Owners Lew and Onna are great hospitable folk and treated our boat very well while we left it there. They and their staff didn't even mind the occassional worried call from Canada asking how it was after a hurricane. Once when my wife was alone aboard and I was back in Nova Scotia a tornado came through and, in spite of the fact that there was a significant amount of damage to their church and the town of Deltaville he came down to check on my wife. Cudos all round. This is our spot to leave the boat when we need to.

Run by wonderful people, 2012-06-26
Captain: , North Fort Myers, FL. (268)

A hurricane was one day out and my marina was out of stands and stopped takeing boats out of the water. I drove to this marina and with all the action going on they said bring it over. My boat was pulled and the staff and owners could not have been better. The cost was lower than I thought and my boat came through without any damage. I could not thank them enought.

Had difficulty trying to get work done here, 2012-06-23
Captain: , Gloucester, Va (222)

I used to have a smaller Catalina 25 & tried to have work done on the swing keel here, as they are the area Catalina Dealer. Lew, the Owner was difficult when I asked when the work could be done & what the cost would be. Their repair rates were high & they were in no hurry to work on my boat. I took my boat down to Shroeder's in Deltaville. They had the work done within a few days for half the cost. Both Doziers & Norview have deeper water for transient dockage, and are way nicer marinas.

What a great place, 2012-05-26
Captain: , Rock Hall (30)

Had to get towed in with engine trouble at 9am on our way down the bay. Within half an hour a mechanic was looking at the engine and by noon it was fixed. Nice people and nice bath house. Depths not a problem if you pay attention to the marks and stay in the channel. Wouldnt hesitate to go there again.

Nice People and Marina, 2012-05-24
Captain: , St. Louis, MO (1850)

Stay as transients on T dock. Kind of tight for our boat but had no problem with depth. Nice facilities and amenities. Looks like a pretty bustling place. Full dock yard. First rate ships store. Onna and Lew are great.

Broad Creek Approach-Marina owner, 2012-05-08
Captain: , Deltaville (44)

Broad Creek Channel was dredged to 8 ft mean low water in 2010.
Visit under 'Marina Tab' to see the Broad Creek approach chart which may be of assistance when visiting DYC slips for the first time.

No way is depth 8 feet!, 2012-05-07
Captain: , Punta Gorda FL (10)

After reservation and assurance of depth, we could not get in. Depth was 6 feet and we bumped bottom trying to get to their T Head. Further, they didn't answer radio and after 10 minutes we had to call them on a cell phone. The dock hand was yelling that it was either 6 or 7 feet at his dock. He wasn't sure which. If you go to Deltaville, stay at Dozier's. It's top notch!

Captain: , Ft. Collins CO (100)

Stopped for 1 night, decided to stay for 5. We were looking for a marina to haul the boat and store it for a year, and this will be the place! Owners and staff could not be more helpful, engine and refig. problems were solved quickly, and you can get anything done here. The clubhouse with pool is a real bonus.

Nice owners, very accomadating

Excellent Experience, 2010-09-17
Captain: , Lancaster VA (393)

I arranged last fall to haul my boat for bottom paint stripping at DYC. In the spring when I hauled my boat the contractor I had arranged to use no longer had insurance ( a lesson - always check on this!! ) and I had to come up with an alternative. Lew was very helpful in finding another contractor on very short notice using the same Farrow system I wanted to use. The yard is clean and the staff always ready to help. Lew even assisted me in placing a air conditioner I was installing on my boat. This is an open yard so you can use their staff, other contractors ( with insurance ) or DIY. I recommend them and would return.

Nice Place, 2010-07-28
Captain: , Lottsburg, Va (264)

We kept a boat here for 20 years, went thru two owners. Current owners, Lew & Ona are very friendly and helpful. Clean facilities, good yard. Pool, wireless internet and cable. Resturants nearby as are groceries and 2 West Marine Stores. DYC has small but wel lstocked store on sight. Entrance has been derdged (09?) so not as difficult as it was. Well protected.

Great yard!, 2010-06-30
Captain: , Deltaville, VA (50)

I had DYC install a new articulated rudder on my 2007 Mainship 400. They did an excellent job for a very fair price. The owner had really researched the installation in advance, so no unanticipated problems were encountered. He even went out with me on the first shakedown run after installation. A great job!
