Reviews for Deltaville Marina
Quiet place , 2016-08-23
Captain: , Forest Lake, MN (20)

Lovely small marina that is quiet. Delta Maritime Museum is truly a gem. Enjoyed our stay here.

Great marina and owners/staff, 2016-08-12
Captain: , Largo, FL (120)

We had to come into Deltaville for repairs and got stuck there waiting for parts. Everyone was so nice and helpful there.
The showers, pool, lounge and laundry were all good. Our only complaint was that the only phone and wifi reception was for Verizon customers. (The marina wifi is available in the lounge) They also provide a courtesy car for trips to the grocery or hardware stores.
There is a mariner's museum just a short walk from the marina that is definitely worth checking out.

Very Good Marina, Pay close attention to markers, 2016-07-27
Captain: , Chapin sc (250)

Be sure when you approach the Marina from Red #6 head due north to G1and R2. The channel is narrow. G3 and R4 are shorter markers that do not match the others making you think it's a different channel. The short ones are the ones you want to travel thru. Stay to the middle of the channel. Marina was great. Cooper, dock hand, was very friendly and very helpful in helping us tie up and get electrical set. He checked us in and provided all needed info. Couldn't ask for better customer service. Showers were good, laundry area was clean and neat. Also had a very nice pool and a lounge with TV and intent. All in all a very good stop,

One night stopover, 2016-07-15
Captain: , New Buffalo, Michigan (600)

This Marina cannot decide if it is a boat yard or a marina. The facilities were acceptable and the pool was what we needed in the hot weather. Restrooms were clean, shower water pressure weak, laundry facilities were messy but useable. We used free bikes to head into town-single speed but worked fine. Since we had a slip, we thought the $11 pp fee was waived, as we were told on the radio when we called in. There was some confusion as they charged us the fee and then waive it after a discussion. Keith, the owner was attentive, helped us tie up and answered our questions. We would return.

Great marina for a stop-over heading south, 2016-07-12
Captain: , Kent Island Maryland (90)

Staff was extrememly helpful. Jimmy gave us many tips for the town and was available by phone whenever we needed him. Marina lent us a vehicle to explore in--all we had to do was put $5 of fuel in it when we were done. (We did $20 we were so grateful.) Did not get to use the pool, it was raining and cold but looked OK. Docks in excellent shape and water was purified. Other permanent slip holders very friendly to transients. Hung out on the porch and watched the sleepy harbor most of the day--very relaxing stop.

Exceptional marina - would recommend for any need..., 2015-11-25
Captain: , Philadelphia, PA (141)

We stayed here four days waiting for weather heading south. Getting in from the bay is a bit tricky, but in the end we had no issue with our 6'6" draft. The staff is excellent and really makes you feel welcomed and at home. In fact, about a week after we left we had a fedex package show up there, and Jaqui (sp?) was incredibly helpful and helped us ship it out of there the next day. The facilities are clean and up to date - excellent showers! Wifi is a bit slow, but we were pulling it in from the anchorage on a Bullet M2 so I'm not sure if that had something to do with it. The town of Deltaville, though small, is extremely friendly and has just about every amenity a mariner would need (including a surprisingly large and well stocked Worst Marine). Be sure to check out the museum through the woods if you're into stretching your legs. Not only is the marina and staff excellent, but the residents are extremely friendly and helpful. It seems that this unlikely place is known as a solid hole to refit, provision, or otherwise prepare for whatever might lie ahead. We will definitely be re-visiting on our way back north in the spring. I can't recommend this spot enough.

Great Value for the Money, 2015-11-06
Captain: , Philadelphia, Pa. (155)

Deltaville Marina is nestled in a small cove on Jackson Creek. The facilities are clean, the people working/running the marina couldn't be nicer. Other posters have complained about the 'Fee" they charge for folks that anchor out in the creek to use their facilities. I can only say this; Marinas are for profit businesses, they aren't NGO's. In the case of Deltaville Marina, they charge a fair price to use their stuff. The bathrooms are clean, the laundry is clean, the small lounge they have for Marina members and guests is quaint. For $11.00 per person per day you get to use all their facilities including a car. You can't rent a car for less than that. If it were warmer we'd be able to use their pool. We are planning to come back through here in the spring and have our boat hauled for painting and some rigging work. If I had to summarize I would say this is a working class Marina that goes out of its way to make your stay ( even anchored) as pleasant as possible.

Nice stop for transient boaters, 2015-10-15
Captain: , Burlington, VT (20)

This marina wrote the book on how to make life easy for transients. They have clean and convenient facilities, a lounge with TV and internet, and a screen porch for picnics. There are courtesy cars and bike loans that come with the marina facilities fee (which gives you access to the goodies even if in the yard or at anchor). Stores you need are close by. This is a personal experience rather than a corporate one. Small staff, but high level of personal care.

Wonderful facilities!, 2015-10-12
Captain: , Colchester VT (380)

Not sure what Mr. Storm is talking about (review just before this) - called after hours and the phone was transferred to the dockmaster in her car!!! I think a bit more patience would have helped him. This marina is just fabulous. Very, very friendly - $11 day per person gets you full use of the facilities which include pool, showers, trash, comp car to use to go to provision or West Marine (etc). The people who are here are all very friendly and we have been sharing all sorts of great sailing information. If you need work done they have full service. Getting in is tricky so pay attention to your charts. Anchorage is well protected.

Is there anyone home?, 2015-10-11
Captain: , Annapolis (91)

No answers the phone or VHF on Sundays. :C

Welcoming and Friendly, 2015-09-29

This Marina is quaint, comfortable and has a great deal of charm.
The owners are very interested in making you visit a great experience. there is a large car that you can use day or evening. The bicycles are nice and always available.

RON 8-29-15, 2015-09-11
Captain: , Newport News, VA (107)

I was a first time transient and couldn't have been more pleased with the friendly, courteous service and the facilities. We arrived at the harbor entrance at around 1730 and I ran aground just inside the first day markers and the Owner/Dockmaster Jacqui Ruse and her son came out to see if they could assist which IMHO was well beyond the normal service. Once we got to the pier, we had help getting tied up and connecting shore power. Jacqui provided a brief sheet form the marina that described the facilities at the marina as well as the local area. The marina facilities included WIFI, 24 hour lounge with large screen TV and coffee, and access to clean, well appointed bathroom and shower facilities, and use of the marinas courtesy SUV, fuel (diesel and gasoline) 30 and 50 amp power and water. Since we needed fuel, we were allowed to remain at the fuel dock until morning and she arrived early to unlock the diesel pump to get us on our way. There is a full service boatyard next to the marina. Other than the grounding, we had a great stay and would strongly recommend it as a stopover marina or protected anchorage. Diesel was $2.84, electricity $9.00 and dockage $1.75/ft.

Would definitely Come Back, 2015-07-27
Captain: , Sarasota, FL (270)

Amazing marina with free loaner car (one-hour limit), loaner bikes, pool, boater's lounge, clean/well-maintained heads/showers, and very friendly staff who want to help with any of your needs. Not a glitzy resort type place, but simply friendly and service oriented. You'll not go wrong here.

Excellent Work, 2015-07-17
Captain: , Dover, DE. (40)

We identified an electical leakage problem during a recent stay at the Capital Yacht Club in D.C. Having listened to an interview with Keith Ruse on the AGLCA radio blog, we headed to Deltaville. The staff here was great in handling our electrical problems. After we had travelled 80 miles north we found we had a couple small related electirical issues and Keith worked with Marine Technical Services in Tracy's Landing to get these resolved quickly and with little angst and no expense to us. These are very diligent and honest professionals.

Friendly and comfortable, 2015-07-06
Captain: , New Bern, NC (289)

The docks are a little old but the staff more than made up for it. We were able to take a slip under the boat shed which gave us some needed rest from the relentless sun. The electrical and water hookups are also old but they worked just fine. The courtesy car came in very handy to allow us some grocery shopping. Clean restrooms and showers. We would return here again for the laid back atmosphere.

Good Stay 5-25-15, 2015-06-02
Captain: , Daytona (410)

Docks ok - a little old. Lounge is ok. Staff helpful. Courtesy car and bicycles were available for our use. West Marine located about a mile down the road as well as other marine services primarily geared toward sailboats.

We needed to have our zincs checked and bottomed cleaned and they were able to recommend a dive service who seemed to to a good job for us.

Fairly protected area and very scenic.

Large working boat yard is on site, if you need more significant work done, that seemed to be well staffed.

Would stop here again if passing through the area.

Great Asset to Boat Yard, 2015-06-01
Captain: , dog Island (30)

We spent months in the yard. The marina facilities and their help made yard life pleasant. Ed is a great manager who knows all of the local facilities and support survice providers that you will need. A loaner car is available for intown use. Enterprise will deliver rentals for longer trips. Marina mascot Moran, makes sure that it is a pet friendly facility. Nice woods between marina and museum with deer and rabbits for walking dogs. While we never used a slip, the fuel dock was great with excellent free pump-out equipment. $140 for 2 people for a month to use the facilities, showers, car, bicycles, laundry, garbage, etc. is a steal.

Great experience at the Deltaville Marina, 2015-05-21
Captain: , St Petersburg (20)

We were pleasantly surprised that this marina extends the use of their facilities to transients who are anchored for $10\person per day this includes the use of the dingy dock, showers, laundry, pool, courtesy car and bikes. The owners and staff were very welcoming and we were thrilled that they offered us the use of their facilities. We found the washrooms and showers perfectly clean and private. We were unable to use the pool as they were in the process of preparing it for opening, but it look lovely and clean. We also enjoyed the lovely views on water. The grocery store was remarkably inexpensive.
Highly recommend this great spot!

Nice place...but not great, 2014-11-19
Captain: , CapnPMF (100)

This marina is very good, but not great. Docks are ok, pool is nice, lounge is very nice, restrooms are nice and free bikes are great but I could no find out about a courtesy car. The dockmaster was antsy-demanded to know on radio why we wanted a t-head--why not? Got way too involved in docking our boat. We could not get a taxi or a car or a restaurant to give us a ride but thankfully we found a pizza and pasta place that delivered! Everywhere you go in this marina is a sign warning you to do this, or not do that..everywhere. There were seats/stools in the shower stall but signs warned us--"Do not sit or stand on this stool." Instead of a good exhaust fan, they placed a box fan on the floor--with an electric cord running across the floor! I'd rather be on the other side of D'ville at a nicer marina--Doziers is a better choice.

Got fuel here, 2014-10-14
Captain: , Lizella GA (1414)

The marina looks a little old and needs some repair. Staff was very friendly but had to dock and handle the fuel pumps myself.

Access to the Bay, 2014-10-02
Captain: , Frog Mortar Creek, MD (180)

Stopped at this marina for easy and quick access to the Bay. Marina is a tad run down. Loose dock board caused crew to fall. Bath facilities were clean. New bicycles available for 1-2 mile trip to provision stores and restaurants. Auto also available for 1 hr trip. Dockmaster friendly and helpful. No defined walkway to bath facilities ???

Perfectly Acceptable Stop, 2014-08-24
Captain: , Everett WA (414)

With its slightly run down fixed docks, clean but a bit shabby pool, and gravel walkways, this marina has a distinctly rural feel. The people are nice enough and the bathrooms are clean.
The marina is open to the east which provided me with a bit of a rock'n roll night.
The courtesy car is available for one hour at a time. No combining boats to extend time. This means that you can go to the grocery store, or West Marine, or the hardware, but unless you are very organized, only one of those per trip.
Overall I think this marina is over priced compared to their competition but it will do in a pinch.

Friendly and helpful staff, 2014-08-08
Captain: , United States (2386)

We spent a week here to get a few things done around the boat and have the yard look at a couple of things. The docks are a bit tired, but they are functional and have good utilities. Nice bath house and laundry facility, pool, and sundry shop. Courtesy car available for runs to nearby West Marine, Hurd's True Value Hardware (they have everything in there, including a great selection of stainless and many marine items), or grocery store. Also a fleet of brand new bicycles for shorter errands or just to explore the area.

New pumpout facility is free and one of the best we've used. They are planning on renovating the docks soon and perhaps upgrading the pool deck as well.

Excellent place, 2014-07-01
Captain: , Annapolis, MD (334)

We stopped on our way north and found a very nice marina. The bath facilities are some of the best we've seen. There is a nice longe with book exchange and TV. A screened area with grills allows for grilling without bugs. Our catamaran was on the B T-head dock. It is a little exposed to south-easterly wind, but the entrance shoals break the waves before they get to the docks. The entrance to Jackson Creek looks intimidating, but following all the marks gave us at least 7 ft of water. The have several new bicycles for touring the area and a loaner car for an hour at a time. The Maritime Museum is within walking distance. The boat yard is a well-known repair facility, with a number of large vessels ashore. One of the new, large-format West Marine stores is in town (take the car or bicycle). The pumpout facility was excellent - one of the best we've used.

Visit for Rendezvous, 2014-06-10
Captain: , Horsham, PA (110)

This is a great marina. The entry to Jackson Creek is a bit tricky. Very accomadating staff. The marina manager, Ed Peake, is the best around. Bathroom facilities are immcaulate. Nearby to the Maritime Museum.

Dockmaster with class., 2014-06-09
Captain: , Grand Haven (470)

You will enjoy dockmster Ed he is helpful in every way. This place has friendly staff around every corner. The restrooms are very clean. They have 10 new bikes that you can take for a short ride to town. New gas grilles with screened in area for some great down time. The pool needs a little help it was on the green side when we left.

Most relaxing marina, 2014-05-17
Captain: , St. Augustine, FL (1187)

Anchored out after beating up the Bay from Norfolk. We registered with Sketch. He was extremely helpful. Gave us a rope to use as a pull cord to replace our broken pull cord for the outboard. We then used to the brand new bikes to ride into town for some supplies and a great dinner at the Galley. THe marina is so quiet and relaxing after hot showers. We loved it and will be back.

Nice facilities, 2014-03-29
Captain: , Lanexa VA. (260)

Stopped in here a few years back on my way down the bay. Great people nice boat yard right next door if you need a haul out. 2 west marines and many other stores near by including a sail maker.

Nice facilities, 2014-02-26
Captain: , Edmonton (279)

A bit dodgy navigating the channel in - the channel has silted well north of the Green "9" - give it a very wide berth, go slowly and carefully. The facilities were nice, but looking for a fresh coat of paint. Lounge was well-appointed, but the water-cooler was on its last bottle, and the stack of empties gives the impression that maintenence isn't a priority off-season. The marina offers bicycles and a courtesy car, though we didn't use them. We rode our own bikes into town - easy level ride (2-3 miles). There is a large West Marine on the way, but it's just about the only thing open on Sunday. Good half-way stop between Solomons and Norfolk.

Help is there 24/7 365 days a year, 2014-01-20
Captain: , Cape Canaveral (1081)

Three years ago Deltaville Boatyard installed a 210 Amp Balmar alternator on each of my 420 HP main engines along with a full suite of Balmar voltage management component: Centerfielder, two regulators, and three Duochargers. I initially experienced some factory defect issues with the management components and DBY replaced them under their warranty. A week ago we lost a regulator crossing the Gulf Stream under far less than ideal conditions. I let DBY owner Keith Ruse know of our problem, whereupon he wrote a troubleshoot procedure for us and then self-initiated contact several times over the weekend to follow up on how we were doing. Working in parallel with marine consultant Steve D%u2019Antonio, I am happy to say that we found the problem today and all is back in working order. IMO very few, if any, boatyard owners would go the extra mile (from 1200 miles away) to craft a troubleshoot protocol and then check on us. This is one of many reasons we keep bringing back our Krogen Express to DBY for everything the boat needs. DBY backs up their work and is there for us 24/7 365 days a year.

Went out of their way, 2013-10-28
Captain: , North Truro, MA (78)

We agree with the many favorable comments earlier reviewers have given this small, friendly facility after waiting out a week of bad weather in early October on the anchor in their very protected harbor on Jackson Creek. But the two things that stood out in my mind were that Tom, the Assistant Dockmaster, went out of his way to help my husband get to the urgent care facility in the next town when he had a concerning medical issue.

And also, the crew there planted a little garden of fall greens, next to their herb garden, all for use by the boaters. Since fresh greens are hard for me to keep in my little fridge, that was most appreciated! We look forward to returning there on our trip home next summer.

Clean and friendly, 2013-09-16
Captain: , Bear, DE (230)

We were customers of the boatyard next door for four months and took advantage of the services of the marina for most of that time. There is a very reasonable monthly fee to use everything in the marina, even if your boat is in the anchorage or you are doing your own work on the hard in the yard.

The bathrooms are very clean, bright and big. The lounge is very nice, with air conditioning, comfy couches, wifi, TV, books, etc. The wifi was consistently good. The covered, screened porch with the BBQ was often hopping with friendly cruisers. The swimming pool is old and in need of upgrading, but is clean, with chairs tables and umbrellas around the edge. The laundry room is small (1 washer, 2 dryers) but clean and air conditioned. (Hint: use the dryer on the far right. If you're careful, you can dry 2 loads with 1 dryer cycle.)

The courtesy car is getting long in the tooth, but it will get you anywhere in Deltaville. The town offers a West Marine, a very good small local hardware store, a small grocery, and a dollar store. There are 3-4 restaurants that are OK, nothing special. All are within bicycle distance. Deltaville is a boating town, and has a good marine museum within walking distance.

The marina and boatyard staff treated us very well, always greeting us cheerfully. Ed the marina manager, and Jim the yard foreman were especially helpful. Since we are full-time cruisers, having a reliable address for packages was great for us. We must have received over 50 boxes, and it was never a problem.

watch out!, 2013-09-14
Captain: , Deltaville Va (10)

I live down here, and went to Deltaville Marina when it had two owners. I went back Dec. 2012 and took my boat away in June 2013 because they had not done anything they had promised to do. The second owner is no longer there because I guess he ran into the same sort of action.

Safe Haven and Phenominal Service, 2013-08-30
Captain: , Florida (10)

31 years ago, I picked up a boat in Deltaville for delivery in Annapolis, and found it to be a small, quaint place, packed with friendly people. This last week, picked up my boat in Annapolis and stated south toward Florida. A week from Hell! Engine problems, blew out a jib, broken shifting controls, and a headstay turnbuckle with only three threads hold the stick aloft, consumed by biting flies and nursing a cold. If I can only make it to Deltaville... I thought. After adding a running aground to the mix, I finally connected with the people at the Deltaville Marina, I was more than estatic to find that the people and services only grew to surpass my previous experiences. Friendly, professional, and "johnny on the spot" with experienced, talented people who jumped to my rescue and had all repairs completed faster than I was ready to leave! Price???? MORE in-expensive than my experience in Annapolis days before. Chuck and his crew are fast, friendly, and really know there stuff. Can't say more!!! other that GREAT PLACE!!!!

Best little marina, 2013-07-24
Captain: , Virginia Beach, VA (10)

Though it is not the fanciest place, the staff and facility is dedicated to the boaters. The have always been there when we needed an alternate site. The Captain's Lounge is comfortable with wifi connectivity and complementary coffee. Anytime I am in the area, I plan to visit this great little place.

Great stop for cruisers or repairs, 2013-07-23
Captain: , Austin, TX (346)

We have stayed here a number of times, the latest was for several days in June 2013. Deltaville Marina on jackson Creek is a great stop for the cruiser. A nice cruiser lounge with good book trading, TV and internet. Also a roofed and screened building at waters edge where boaters can BBQ, picknic, and chat. Clean, well kept rest rooms, showers and laundry. Also a nice pool. There is a loaner car for shopping in Deltaville with a 1 hr restriction. Also bicycles available at no charge. Docks are older wooded fixed docks but are in generally good shape. These facilities and a dinghy dock are available for a fee to boats anchored in Jackson Creek and a number of cruisers use that option. The entrance channel was dredged in 2012 but the path is a little tricky so follow the marks carefully. The only real facility downside is that the pumpout never seems to be working or is not working well. Ed the dock master is friendly and helpful. A big plus is that the marina is co-located with the Deltaville Boatyard so you can get all types of repairs there or do your own work. Chuck at DBY is very helpful. DYB also has a large dry storage area. Deltaville is a boating town with a new big West Marine, sail and canvas shops, a great hardware store that even carries deckshoes. In addition to the grocery store there is a fresh produce market that grows many of their own vegetables and also a seafood market. Propane is available at the next town (about 7 miles). Several restaurants in town with a focus on seafood. One disadvantage is that Deltaville is really spread out so the loaner car and bicycles are very handy.

Helpful marina, 2013-07-23
Captain: , Galesville, MD (994)

We were anchored out but needed a quick run to West Marine. For an $11 facility fee used the car to go to West Marine. Car needed to be back by 4:45 sharp. Could have also used pool (nice especially since there were a lot of jellyfish) and showers. Nice option.

Delayed in Deltaville, 2013-06-15
Captain: , Cleveland, OH (140)

6/5/2013. Traveling north on the intracoastal from Florida to Cleveland Ohio we noticed a shaft seal leak just north of Norfolk. We read in the Waterway Guide about the expert boat yards available to us in Deltaville,VA. We were referred to Deltaville boat yard. Chuck was prompt to evaluate our problem and scheduled us for haul out. He made us as comfortable as can be when you enter the boat with a ladder. The marina had a great lounge, laundry facility, and bathrooms. It also provided a courtesy car for 1 hr. to get groceries in town. Mac the ABYC certified technician was open to any and all questions we had about maintaining our boat.(we are new to power). Our stay was complicated by TS Andrea passing by but we were encouraged to stay on the hard for our safety and that of our boat. It gave us time to do other maintenance we could do ourselves. The shaft seal work was done completely and in timely fashion. We were given numbers if we encountered any difficulty. Chuck checked on us each day and you can tell he strives to do what is best for the customer. Thanks to Deltaville Boat yard we can continue our journey with confidence.

Great place to stop, 2013-03-13
Captain: , St. Thomas, USVI (624)

We only stayed here overnight, but found the staff to be exceptional and would have loved to spend more time here. The local restaurants will even come and pick you up at the marina. There was an herb garden right in front of the marina office with heavenly rosemary!

Stayed again on 12/26-27/12: This was our second stay here. The marina was closed as it was the day after Christmas when we arrived but bad weather was closing in so we wanted to get to a dock. We were unable to reach any one so we went on in and were eventually met by a boat yard staffer named Chuck. He was very gracious in getting us settled in. Although he was unable to take payment, he said it was OK to stay and we offered to contact the marina via e-mail after the holidays to settle up. We did indeed do that and were contacted by their dock master, Ed who processed our payment for the two nights and gave us an unsolicited discount which is always great. We called the local West Marine as we needed some parts and they arranged for us to be picked up at the marina, took us not only to West Marina (which is a fabulous West Marine compared to many) but also to the grocery and to a hardware store for a quick stop. The service in this town was memorable and we will always come back here when we are in the area.

Not friendly at all, 2012-11-06
Captain: , Roseville MN (398)

Nobody came out to the dock - pump our own diesel, go into office to find someone to pay. Narrow shallow shoal-ly approach into the bay. Told we MUST be out of the slip by EXACTLY NOON, or else! The one guy there did not care much about doing anything, especially about leaving the office. Free car, with one hour strict limit so could shop but not use it for restaurants. Fortunately, a restaurant did give us rides. Bicycles available, 1-2 miles into (not much of a) town. Would not stop at this marina again; might not even stop in this town.

Comfortable and friendly, 2012-10-27
Captain: , Stony Point, NY (852)

We were getting work done by the boatyard, so were were at their dock for 2 days. We were able to use the courtesy car twice, as well as all their facilities. The 4 stars is because of the really poor pumpout. It is so slow that you can't tell if it is pumping at all, then it will give a surge. 2 days later we were pumped out again, and there was at least 1/2 tank. I suppose I should not complain since it is free.

Great marina, 2012-10-22
Captain: , Eugene OR (133)

Some of the wooden docks could use some fixing up, but everything else is great. Comfortable lounge with cable TV, clean toilettes and showers, laundry, swimming pool, friendly and helpful dockmaster, grocery store and West Marine close by, courtesy car and bicycles. It was a pleasure staying here.

Grumpy and grouchy., 2012-10-17
Captain: , Roseville, MN (362)

The cruising guide said this place was friendly. Not. Ed was not friendly. Using the car was to get groceries was under dire threat about getting it back in exactly an hour.

Nice Marina, 2012-10-06
Captain: , Little River, SC (1967)

We stopped here for one night because we needed groceries and laundry etc. The marina is very nice, the dockmaster was very helpful and friendly. The use of a courtesy car is extremely nice. It is limited to one hour so you need to hustle to get your shopping done and can't really use it for restaurants but nevertheless very nice. The restaurants will no longer pick you up so there is only one within walking distance. Laundry and shower facilities were very clean and they have a very nice book swap library. Would definitely return. We were not charged a facility fee.

Great marina, 2012-07-10
Captain: , Montreal, PQ, Canada (560)

Everything you need, clean restroom/showers, boatyard next door, close to shops (grocery, WM and more) and a few restos. Affordable docking. Anchor out in front and use facilities for nominal fee.

Nice Facility!, 2012-07-07
Captain: , Las Vegas (282)

Stayed the night of 7/6/12 and found the showers/restrooms/laundry all to be spotless. Courteous and professional staff but not real friendly. All the extras are great, including the pool, but the $11 facility charge on top of the slip rental seemed excessive. Niice, but pricey.

Much to Offer, 2012-06-11
Captain: , Muskegon, MI (728)

Stayed one night on the way back from the Caribbean. One night is not long enough to avail ones self of all the services available. Free loaner bikes to visit town and the museum, swimming pool, nice lounge 24/7 with wifi, screened patio with three large grills for your use, free pump out and fuel available, usually. Unfortunately, they ran out today and won't have more until after we leave tomorrow. The nice thing is the owners are nice and the channel has now been dredged.

Bad reception, 2012-04-18
Captain: , Quebec (30)

We call the marina 15 minutes before 5 pm, they don't copy, we arrived in the office at 5 pm (+ 3 minutes) the guy said we are close. Also, they have a bump in the canal entry, between the G7 and the G9. We have 5 feet draft. Never again...

5 day weather stay, 2011-11-28
Captain: , Fremantle, West Australia (1448)

Stuck by weather but marina made it not so bad a deal. Great showers, loaner car and bikes. Ed the boss is excellent. Highly recommended.

Riding out a low, 2011-10-30
Captain: , Sodus Point, NY (678)

Spent two nights at anchor across from here and then stayed at a dock for 3 nights. Had to wait an hour to get into the pump out. It is so slow that everyone takes a long time. Guess that is why it is free.

Utilized the loaner car. The local market is well stocked. They will not allow you to leave Deltaville with the loaner car. Long lines for the car and the laundry. We waited for 2 days before we could get the only washer. This is the only downside to allowing anchored boats to use marina facilities (for a daily fee). They get crowded.

What a great deal!, 2011-10-29
Captain: , Southport, ME, USA (1158)

Anchored out & paid $11/each for full use of their services: showers. free loaner car, laundry, pool, etc. Nice folks run the place.

Deltaville Marina, 2011-10-05
Captain: , Oriental (100)

Great marina. Bath house and laundry very clean. Boat yard close by for parts if needed.

No BoatUS discounts, 2011-10-02
Captain: , Bristol, RI (366)

We stayed one night at $1.75 per foot. There are no BoatUS, MTOA or other discounts. Electricity extra. They chaged me $10 for 50 amp service even though we use 30 amps (and dock master plugged us in). Staff was helful and facilites fine.

We walked to Taylors restaurant for dinner. It was a fine meal but expensive. The walk is a little troubling as there are no sidewalks on part of the main road. Bring flashlights, the walk back was very dark, no street lights.

Annual stop over., 2011-09-14
Captain: , Deale, Maryland (45)

I have stopped here several times going and coming on Bay Transits. Pay close attention to the channel markers coming in and going out. They appear to take you almost on shore before turning. I have rubbed bottom here several times but have not gone hard aground. My last stop in July there was a posting in the office that the channel was to be dredged%u2014I don't know if this has happened.

The staff has always been helpful and accomodating, even when arriving late near or after closing time. The heads are well maintained and clean. The lounge is nice but tends to become noisy when the TV is on. Free wifi works well in the lounge and becomes spotty as you move away from the building. Full service repair and sales also located on the premises.

Loaner bikes are available for visiting Deltaville. Depending on the time of year dining in town can be a challenge. Several restaurants did offer shuttle service. On my last visit a new breakfast/coffee shop had opened on the main drag with great breakfast sandwiches. Alas, I do not remember the name. There are West Marine stores and several well stocked chandleries at other marinas in addition to the one here. For entertainment there is an organized adult baseball leauge team, and, within walking distance, the Deltaville Maritime Museum.

If you choose to anchor out the marina facilities can be used at an economical rate. The one time I anchored here I found the holding gets progressively better as you proceed up the creek. Watch for shallow water on the South side of the creek before it narrows. Fuel and pumpout available.

Very Welcoming, 2011-09-09
Captain: , Oriental, NC (65)

Stopped at Doziers on the way south from Annapolis. Great hospitality as we were immediately invited for wine and cheese at 6 on the porch. Clean shower room and even had some t-shirts left to purchase at the end of the season.

Captain: , Rock Hall Md. (138)

First time in can be a white knuckel trip. We appoached in high winds and surf off the bay. Where the waves did not break was the channel. Take your time, the marina staff will help with local knowledge of the channel if you ask as you approach. Great bathrooms, they may be the best on the bay. Staff was very helpful our entire stay. We will be back to try the food in town.

Highly recommend, 2011-07-20
Captain: , Jordan Creek, NC (40)

Stayed here twice this month and cannot say enough about the friendly staff. We anchored out both times. Good holding. For a minimal fee you can use all the facilities, including the use of the car, bicycles, pool, air conditioned lounge, etc. even when anchored. The channel is a bit challenging but if you pay attention to the marks, you're good.

We're biased, it's our home port!, 2011-06-28
Captain: , Deltaville, Va (91)

Terrific marina. Friendly people and staff. Entrance to Jackson Creek can be tricky. Watch the day markers closely.

Marina is on your starboard coming up Jackson Creek. Fuel and pump-out (free), wifi, nice clean pool, clean shower/bath house. Slips are fixed. Normally not a big deal. Protected harbor. Beautiful sunrise and sunset views. Ed is the marina manager, very helpful. Close to the town of Deltaville, but a long walk. Bikes and marina loaner car are always available, plus someone will always give you a ride or lend you their car....

Tricky entrance, pay attention going in. Ask if your not sure.
OLd but nice.

Town has two (2) West Marine Stores.

Nice Place to Stop, 2011-03-27
Captain: , St. Augustine, FL (4015)

We used this marina to hide from some windy, rough weather on the Bay. Friendly, helpful staff, courtesy car for 1 hr, big clean showers, bicycles, solid docks. The town only has 4 stores, a small grocery, hardware/general store, and 2 West Marine stores. There must be 12 boat yards. The laundry only has one machine. Watch the entry channel very closely.

Captain: , Hollywood, MD (142)

Nice protected marina. No cable tv. Wifi works well even at farthest dock. Cocomos picked us up and brought us back by limo (Nice cozy restaurannt/bar at Norview Marina). They say it's a mile or so but don't walk or bike it at night-seemed more like 3 miles.

Deltaville Marina on Jackson Creek, 2010-08-01
Captain: , Daytona Beach, FL (273)

Very friendly marina, nice pool, clean bathrooms, and a courtesy car available during the day. We had a slip reserved during a big regatta and they didn't raise the rate like other marinas will do for an event. They offer 1.60/ft with two free days if you book a week. We draft 6' and we bumped ground once in the channel. Best to come in at high tide if you draft more than 5'.

Very Helpful, 2010-07-21
Captain: , Atlantic Coast (341)

We came in late and they came back after closing to get us settled. Opened up fuel docks for us. Good and accurate advice on navigating into the harbor. Great service and pleasant to deal with - highly recommend.

Great People, Shallow Approach, 2010-06-27
Captain: , Cobourg, Ontario, Cdn (122)

Came in off a windy day and had to hunker down for a couple of days here. The Marina Staff and the Town itself are very friendly. Access to the town, Hardware, Groceries and 2 West Marine Stores is a good bike ride (available at the Marina) or a short drive (loaner vehicle available till 5pm). Several of the restaurants will pick you up and take you back. Excellent washrooms/showers, lounge area with free coffee and screened in BBQ area.
The lack of 5 starts is due to the fixed docks and the shallow approach to the Marina. Our 3.5 draft touched bottom 3 times coming in and twice on leaving.

Captain: , Ophelia, VA (849)

We had to cut short our trip from Norfolk to the Little Wicomico River due to predictions and warnings of a storm coming. We decided to duck into the Deltaville Marina and they made room for us.

We were running on only one engine and being a power cat, our manuverability was limited. The next morning, a dock hand had helpful advice and was there to make sure we got underway safely and headed for our home. Thanks!

Captain: , Absarokee Mt (1228)

Tight getting in as mentioned before, clean pool, good access to shopping with the courtesy car, no surprises. A bit expensive at $1.60/ft, (we still cannot get used to east coast prices). Somewhat exposed to SE wind and has some wake issues with no wake zone.

great place, 2008-03-17
Captain: , Deltaville, VA (197)

We have kept our boat here for now our second year and am very pleased. The prices on the yard work is a bit high but quality is good. Fuel prices are terrible however. Best bathrooms anywhere! Screened porch is a joy. Staff is very attentive. No No Wake zone, though not a problem very often. The anchorage though small is well protected and very popular. There is always a large representation of european sail boaters in the marina or anchorage. Chanel getting in is VERY TIGHT!

Captain: , Lottsburg, Va (264)

We spent most of the winter 2007-2008 in the yard making repairs, upgrading sysems and tending to some defered maintainance on our 1991 Grand Banks. The entire experience was more than satisfactory, the work was performed in a 1st class manner and the communicaton with the office was good. The facilities are kept very clean and the people are nice to deal with. I would recommend them without reservation.

Captain: , Occoquan, Virginia (68)

The folks here are super friendly. The heads and showers are the cleanest and nicest you'll find anywhere. They even supply body soap and lotion! There's a nice swimming pool and a screened in area on the covered dock with grills. They also have a nice lounge with TV and books and magazines and free coffee that's open 24-7. A loaner car is available daily till 5 PM, and loaner bikes available anytime, and several restaurants in the area provide pick-up and drop off service to the marina. We found lot's of attention to detail here.
The only reason I didn't rate it 5 stars was because the docks are fixed, and there isn't an official "no wake" zone, and if the wind is right you get the waves coming in off the bay. But that's not a big deal, and we will definitely be staying there again!

Good People, 2007-08-01

We stayed there both in a slip and out of water for repairs more than a month. Very nice folks running the place. Spotless heads and a very nice boater's lounge. Pay for 5 days in marina and get 7. Same owner for yard and marina. He is committed to quality.
