Delegal Creek Navigational Instructions From the ICW Mile 601:
The entrance markers to Delegal Creek are red right return.
1. Get a visual on ICW 86. At a heading of 060º from ICW 86 you should see G1 at N31 52.556 and W081 04.218 and R2. There is deep water between R2 and the shore.
2. Leave R2 to starboard, heading about 100º for approximately 700 yards to G3 at N31 52.522 and W081 03.782. Favor the green (shore) side of the channel.
3. Take G3 to port, leave R4 at N31 52.522 abd W081003.750 to starboard, making a rounded turn to port.
4. Head into the channel between R6 at N31 52.612 and W081 03.781(to starboard) and G5 at N31 52.659 and W081 03.781(to port). This is the shallowest part of the channel.
5. You will see 2, diamond shaped, "Caution" markers on either side of the channel. They show shoals that are outside the channel.
6. Passing G5, Head for R8 at N31 52.862 and W081 03.913, following the middle of the creek.
7. Follow mid-channel past G7 at N31 53.200 and W081 03.910 (to port) to the marina.
This passage should provide minimum 4 1/2 foot depths, at low tide, and 7 to 10 foot depths at high tide.

Delegal Creek Navigational Instructions From the Ocean - Ossabaw Sound
Note: All markers are red right return.

This is an entry using a modified version of the North Channel in to Ossabaw Sound per chart 11511. The soundings on this chart are way out of date. NOTE: The island shown on most charts at the mouth of Delegal Creek no longer exists.
1. Get on the line between RW "OS" and G1. You can get on the line about 1 mile in (about half way) from "OS".
2. Head straight for G1 and turn right toward G5 as soon as you arrive at C #1. Do not go all the way to the RG N bifurcation buoy.
3. Stay at least 1 tenth of a mile to the right (channel side) of the line between the green cans from here on in.
4. At G5 head for G7 and, again, leave it a 1 to 2 tenths of a mile on your port. There is about 8-10 feet at low water next to the buoy but much more in the channel.
5. Now you can head for the waypoint for Delegal R4 which is at N31 52.527 and W081 03.75. The course will be about 300 degrees.
6. You will pass G9 (again, leave it well to port) and see R10 way off to port. Ignore the red day mark it as it marks the official North Channel. From here you are using local knowledge.
7. Keep heading for R4. You will see the other day marks at the Delegal entrance and G3 which is at N31 52.522 and W081 03.782 will appear slightly to the right of R4. You should have at least 15 feet at low tide all along this line.
8. As you approach R4, your chart plotter will gag because it looks like you are going over an island. Have faith. Depth here is 10 - 15 feet at low tide.
9. When you get to R4 turn hard to starboard to go between R4 and G D3.
10. Head into the channel between R6 N31 52.612 and W081 03.781 (to starboard) and G5 N31 52.659 and W081 03.837 (to port). This is the shallowest part of the channel-3 ½ to 4 foot depths, at low tide, and 6 ½ to 7 foot depths at mid tide.
11. You will see 2, diamond shaped, Caution markers on either side of the channel. They show shoals that are outside the channel.
12. Passing G5, head for R8, N31 52.862 and W081 03.913 following the middle of the creek.
13. Follow mid-channel past G7 N31 53.200and W081 03.910 (to port) to the marina.

Reviews for Delegal Creek Marina
Beautiful spot, Billy is the Best, 2016-10-02
Captain: , Hilton Head Island, SC (365)

This marina is in a beautiful location with a tricky, but well marked and documented entrance up the creek. Billy talks you through the directions to insure you know exactly where and what to do at each turn in. I think I would give Billy 6 stars for the Dockmaster rating. The only disappointment is the restaurant at the marina has closed so it's a golf cart ride to one of the clubs or the nice shopping center just outside of the Gate to The Landings Community. Being a residential Community focused on the environment, there are no street lights so this time of year not being able to walk to a restaurant, forced an early dinner to be back before 6pm darkness.

Back again on 9/30/16
Billy's day off so arrival was not "Billy Class"! We knew the way in so no problems with the entry. After tie up and check in we used a golf cart to have lunch at the Plantation Club. The manager approaced us in the restaurant since he didn't recognized us and introduced himself. The meal and service were excellent and makes the visit to Delegal Creek a very nice experience. We will keep coming back.

Great stay, 2016-09-09
Captain: , charleston sc (20)

Thank you Billy. The marina channel entrance is hard to navigate as the shoals constantly change. Billy, the dock master, helped us through the shallows by constantly staying on the VHF to guide us in. Once you enter the creek, it is deep water all the way. Marina is very clean with clean restrooms and showers. Somewhat removed from shopping and other, but marina provides a golf cart for the 15 minute ride to Publix. Overall a great time and friendly and proffessional staff.

Seven Boats Descended Upon Delegal Creek, 2016-05-22
Captain: , Hilton Head, SC (1244)

Visited 5/21/16 as part of the South Carolina Yacht Club cruise fleet, with 5 power boats (37 to 55') and 2 sailboats (35 and 42 with 6ft draft). Billy the dockmaster and his staff and friendly residents handled our arrival professionally and courteously and got us all assigned and into our slips based on LOA and draft and current with no problems. The grounds are just gourgeous and the docks / screened in poch / observation tower and facilities are first rate. Make sure to visit their website to get local knowledge on the entrance. We arrived mid tide and saw no less than 11ft following their directions and in one of the south wells, we saw no less than 8.6ft at low tide. Make sure to climb the tower to get a breathtaking vista of the lowcountry. You may see some wild pigs feeding on fiddler crabs across the water on Green Island. We will be back!

Great stop!, 2016-05-05
Captain: , Westport CT (554)

Stayed there on 5/4 ...great place! Billy the dockmaster was great...good directions on getting in. Very nice marina in a beautiful setting...showers/laundry/etc. all first rate.
They provided a golf cart to go shopping and to dinner...would definetly stop there again.

Nice stop before a run outside to Charleston, 2016-04-24
Captain: , Lewis Creek, Md (1304)

We had come up inside because of a northeastern. The entrance to the marina is a little squirrely, but follow marina directions. The marina has nice facilities, showers, fuel etc. There is also a nice screened in sitting area. A golf cart got us to Publix(complementry), then a short run out the sound which is straightforward in settled weather.

The Delegal ( pronounced " Del a go " ) Creek Marina is a real first class marina - Billy will do everything to make your stay as pleasant as possible - large, spacious, modern, very clean bathrooms - add the golf cart with unlimited use to restaurants and Publix - tough to beat - and very reasonable priced - In a very up scale community -

Plan around a visit here, 2016-03-02
Captain: , Hilton Head Island (55)

This is a treasure. YOu wil never fell more welocm or have more accomodating Marina staff. And do accept the golf cart option too ride into the Landings Village for dinner - it is a 30 minute ride but well worth the adventure.

Plan around this marina. Well kept docks, terrific decks and a screen in sitting area for sunset viewing.

Really top notch., 2015-12-24
Captain: , Apponaug R.I. (908)

We planned on staying 2 days. We had an unexpected 3rd day. This is a beautiful area. Loaned us golf carts to go to a Publix. The entire community has golf cart paths. Again, beautiful homes, landscaping, and sceinery. Absolutely accommodating staff. Lola stayed after closing to help us tie up. Billy sets a standard for dockmasters. Upon leaving I must have had a very senior moment. I totally missed the dog leg in the channel and went hard aground on an outgoing tide. Had to wait 4 hours to refloat. Billy called on VHF to make sure we were OK. He called back a little later and offered a free slip for the night after our trauma. Can't ask for better than that.

delivery Captain, convenient stop,, 2015-12-09
Captain: , port Charlotte (41)

Due to low tide on the ICW, (hell gate) decided to stop at Delegal creek had not been before, Billy was super helpful on navigational info on getting around, and into marina was very easy, deep, (charts are not updated) love the marine, nice facility good WIFI, loaner golf cart, for grocery, restrnt. old school hospitality, i will use again,

Five stars, 2015-12-08
Captain: , Wilmington (20)

Could not have ask for a better experience. Dockmaster Billy is a first class gentleman. He set us up with a local captain that showed us the route out to the ocean side and helped as we entered it on the chartplotter. It was the Best!! I highly reccomend Delegal Creek Marina!!

A swing and a miss, 2015-11-27
Captain: , Hobe Sound, Florida (480)

Called in the morning about ten minutes after they were to have opened, left a message that I was seeking transient moorage later in the day and waited for a return call before heading out. Thinking perhaps the marina had closed for the holiday weekend, I called back after another hour, got an answer, a comment that he was geting ready to call me back, and a request to call again when I was close. No orientation or description of the challenges of the entrance was provided, but they are well-described in the Active Captain listing and on the Landings website. Arrived when I said we would, asked for a starboard side tie to enable getting our dog off the boat, waited at idle for the attendant to appear on the dock, and was directed to the end of the T-head most remote from everything, and facing into the teeth of the wind despite the apparent availability of quite a few empty slips and another T-head in more protected areas of the marina. Even the close-in slips of this marina are remote from anywhere that a dog who has been waiting five hours might relieve themself without doing so on a dock, and it's a self-directed three to five plus mile ride on the free golf cart provided to anywhere. Bottom line - probably a great marina for residents of the Landings, but not so much for transients with a dog.

A great stop with nice people , 2015-11-18
Captain: , Aurora, Indiana (100)

This is our second time stopping at Delegal, and once again it did not disappoint us. Dockmaster Billy as well as other staff go well out of their way to assist in your stay. We were loaned a golf cart to tour the neighborhood as well as provision. The new Publix market is top notch and far better than the market that used tone there.

Friendly nice marina, 2015-11-17
Captain: , Chicago, Racine, Fish Creek,Wi (3189)

I stopped in to stay a night, ended up staying 9 days. Bille the dockmaster makes you feel more than welcome. I used the courtesy golf cart to go to the Publix and Pharmacy. Golf cart, bike, running , walking paths are everywhere. Beautiful scenery along the paths. Resonable dockage rates, nice clean floating docks, laundry, and clean facilities. Nice lookout tower and screened in bar/picnic area. People in the community are very nice and friendly. I got a flat tire on my bike and in no time i was getting a courtesy ride back to the marina on a golf cart of resident.I had a part mailed to me to fix my windless which was promtly delivered to my boat by Bille. I plan on returning to this wonderful place in the fall. Montly rate $12 a foot plus $40 electric 30A + captains fee $37.50.
November 15, 2015 stayed again same wonderful place. This time rode bikes 7 miles all the way to other end where they have another marina. The nature trail ride had fantastic views of lush vegetation on nice smooth paths.

The Landings at Delegal Creek, 2015-11-06
Captain: , Halifax, Nova Scotia (70)

We would highly recommend this Marina. No problem with entry following Harbor Master Billy's instructions. Gated residential
Island. Golf cart allowed access to great grocery store and tour of Island. Great spot to leave a boat unattended if necessary. Great set-up pint for Hell's Gate. We will definitely return!

Delegal is great, 2015-11-02
Captain: , New Bern, NC (10)

This is one of the most friendly and boater oriented marinas along the ICW. Billy is a fountain of information. Reports of a difficult entrance are overrated. Found no problem entering at all. Listen to the staff and do what they trell you. Beautiful setting and very friendly people.

Quiet and Friendly, 2015-10-07
Captain: , Saint Simons Island, GA (115)

Stayed two different nights. Friendly and helpful staff. The provision of a courtesy golf cart is most helpful to get to the grocery store and pub. If you follow the directions on Active Captain, no issue getting in or out. Be prepared to dock into tidal flow for docking ease. Get place to stop if awaiting a good time to transit Hell's Gate.

Beautiful marina and area, 2015-09-14
Captain: , Yorktown, VA (972)

Billy is wonderful and efficient. We made reservations and were able to arrive at 10 am during high tide. He let us use the golf cart so we could watch the first game of the season at the Village Bar then run into Publix while we were there.
It was a great marina and a beautiful, friendly area. We will return.

One of the best, 2015-08-17
Captain: , Savannah, GA (21)

Would give this marina 10 stars if that were possible. We decided to keep out boat here full time. Billy can not be beat, the nicest guy I have ever had the pleasure of meeting. Good floating docks clean facilities and great location for relaxing.

Great Place, 2015-06-18
Captain: , North Charleston, SC (752)

There's not much I can add to the other reviews, they pretty much covered everything. It's not the place to stop and go and there's not much excitement but if you want a place to sit back and relax for a day or more, this is the place. It's in a beautiful setting and Billy the dockmaster is the best.

Beautiful Marina, 2015-06-16
Captain: , Sunbury, Ga (352)

Billy is a great dockmaster giving us directions getting to the marina and having us tied up quickly. He had a golf cart for us to use and passes for the pool. The pool is awesome. Used the golf cart to go eat at the Village Bar & Grill. Publix is just a golf cart ride away. Will be back and hopefully for longer than one night.

Quiet relaxing beautiful marina, 2015-05-20
Captain: , Midway,GA (261)

Great stay but too short. Called Billy the dock master for dockage and told him we would be in after closing time. Billy gave us instructions on how to get into the marina and dockage instructions. We arrived well after closing and all paperwork ,keys for the free golf cart, and a map to the grocery store and resturant were put in a designated location for us. Billy was awesome, he made our stop there very enjoyable. We plan on stopping there again on our way back south

Delegal Creek Marina, 2015-05-14
Captain: , Massapequa,NY (1176)

This is one of our favorite stops on the east coast. Beautiful scenery, friendly & helpful dockhands, good price, courtesy golf cart makes it fun to explore the area, and excellent food at the Village Bar & Grill.

We will be back, 2015-05-09
Captain: , sturgeon bay, wi (20)

Delegal Creek is one of our favorite marinas. It's a beautiful spot with abundant walking/biking paths. Restaurants and Publix are a golf cart ride away, and several carts are available. In addition to providing all the amenities you would expect in a top-notch marina, Billy personally drove several of us to a restaurant in his car and came back for us after we had dinner and picked up a few groceries.

Need To Spend A Night Or Two Here, 2015-05-02
Captain: , Little River, SC (476)

Skidaway Island is a special place all on it's own, but the marina is special too. Billy makes you really feel like a special guest. Ask and you shall receive. One of the best places we have stopped on our Great Loop adventure.

Great place to enjoy The Landings on Skidaway IS, 2015-04-19
Captain: , Punta Gorda, Fl (960)

April 2015 Visited here for a second time. Billy and Josh were both very helpful in making sure we were docked ok and had good navigation tips to enter the channel. Golf cart ride took us to Publix and Village Bar and Grill for a nice meal at very reasonable prices. Island still as lovely as last year. Laundry and bath/showers well maintained. Dockage is extremely reasonable. Will definitely return here.

May 2014 Current here but dock staff is helpful. Nice concrete floating docks. Nice showers/bath/laundry. Dockage $1.25/ft minus Boat US discount. Marina is owned and run by the Landings community. Secure area. Golf cart available to tour The Landings, provision at a nice grocery, pharmacy, banks. Have privileges at all 4 golf clubs. fitness and tennis center. Very friendly and helpful staff, and community is very warm. This is a very lush island with native live oaks draped with Spanish moss, pine trees, palms, and wonderful landscapes framing stately mansions and modest homes. A great stop you should not miss.

Entry shoals incorrectly located on charts , 2015-03-21
Captain: , Cape Cod, MA (203)

The charting of the entrance is no longer correct. The large shoal on the south side of the channel appears to be considerably reduced, and the small shoal shown between markers R6 & G5 no longer exists, though as noted, this is the shallowest part of the entrance. We entered at a tide of -1.2! With a draft of 3.5' we touched bottom between markers 5&6. Follow the markers and the directions given on the marina's info page or the Local Knowledge icon, not what's shown as deep water on the chart. It would be good if the marina confirmed the charting changes on their info page.

We were met by dockhand Josh who was very nice but inexperienced, having come from Colorado only a few months earlier - the only reason for the missing star. We met Billie the morning of our departure and a nicer, more helpful fellow would be hard to find. Good showers with good water pressure. Transients at the marina are afforded dining privileges at the several club restaurants on the island (get a card from the dock master). We took a golf cart to the Oakridge Bar and Grill and ate in the bar area. Great drinks, great meal and nice ambiance. Full house because of March Madness.

So Far the Best Marina, 2015-02-02
Captain: , Toledo, OH (40)

Entering is easier than it looks than when viewing on your chart plotter, but call Billy, the dock master, and it is a piece of cake in spite of very strong current - easy for me to say because Billy asked a local boater to pilot me in. Thank you, both. Billy also wanted me to have a safe passing of Hell's Gate when I left so he called another local boater early in the morning who gave really great instructions. My boat's draft is 4'.

It is very difficult to add anything more positive than the current reviews; this place is great and the price is very reasonable. My stay lasted a month and I will return there whenever I am in the Savannah area. There is not one negative thing I could think to review. The Landings is a beautiful community and the folks are friendly.

Nice place to visit, 2015-01-22
Captain: , Savannah, GA (330)

Right off the ICW at marker 86 prior to Hell's Gate. Enter channel to Delegal Creek, being mindful that the aids are seaward markers. You will need to enter 3 hours on either side of High tide due to a shallow spot between markers 4 and 5. As you approach marker 8, the deep water will be on your port side, favoring the marsh line.
Billy, the Harbor Master is very friendly and strives to make your stay enjoyable. The marina is located inside a large gated community, with lots of amminities. Golf courses, pools, clubs, and a large fitness center are all available for the transit vistors. Note there is a fee assocated with their use. A golf cart is available for your trip to the village center, which is home to a New Publix. This marina is a wonderful stop with one of the better sunsets to view. The marina is well cared for and the restrooms are very clean. This is our 6th visit to this marina.

Great marina with friendly staff, 2015-01-20
Captain: , Clayton, NY (655)

WE tied up at the fuel dock which made for easy entry and leaving. There was a courtesy golf cart to travel around the gated community. There was a new publix within the community about 3 mi from the marina. No problem with the golf cart. The bathrooms at the dock were heated and clean.

Great stop and easier than it looks, 2014-12-01
Captain: , Cape Canaveral (1191)

We docked here again a few days ago for our third or fourth time here. Billy the dockmaster is the best. Very knowledgeable and helpful and a great guy. Joel, a guy who keeps his boat there also very friendly and we look forward to seeing both when we stop over.

The tide is still swift when running so coming in at slack, or waiting on a T head for slack before docking makes the experience pleasant. We'll be back in the spring.

We came in here after running outside from Port Royal Sound to avoid the many shallow areas at low tide on the ICW. A guide dispatched from the marina met us at the G1 can and led the way across what looked to be shallows on the charts. Later, after looking more closely at the marina web page, we found instructions that mapped the guide's same precise approach course on updated charts. The current in the marina is swift. Billy, the dock master, wisely suggested we temporarily tie up at a T-head for a couple hours and wait for slack water, which we did and washed the boat in the meantime. While waiting, a transient sailboat came in, ignored Billy's suggestion, u-turned into the fairway, and hit a finger pier piling that almost tore off his dingy and Weaver davit. Once the tide was slack, we easily maneuvered in the wide fairway and backed our 49%u2019 trawler into our slip. Piece of cake. This is a beautiful, quiet, scenic marina with smart, very helpful people. We will be back.

Great Stop over, 2014-11-24
Captain: , Beaufort, NC (282)

Marina friendly and helpful. Channel in is not an issue with a little attention. Always call ahead to ask for any changes. In our case the Red marker going in had recently been blown out. Facilities clean. Great off road bike riding/walking.

Word of caution. Skidaway Is mostly a no wake zone. We found it poorly marked but highly patroled. In most areas in wide water you wonder why a no wake zone? After monitoring the radio traffic with boaters being issued no wake tickets I am assuming this is for money making only. Kind of like a speed trap on the interstate. Again poorly marked no wake signs so go slow.

Very nice stop over, 2014-11-24
Captain: , Erie, PA (587)

We planned on one night and turned it into two. Very clean facilities, quiet and no competition for the laundry ($1.25). The channel can be interesting in the rain and fog but instructions from the dock master Billy made it less stressful in the poor conditions. We had made reservations earlier in the day and Billy called us before we got there to make sure we had up to date information on the channel. Really a nice place place.

Coming back was even better, 2014-08-16
Captain: , Cape Coral (10)

Coming back was even better than having been here for the first time. The boat had stayed in the Delagal Creek Marina for a few weeks. Billy, the harbourmaster, had taken care of it in a great way. Everybody welcomed us back in the kindest way.
The harbour is in a great condition, very neat, peaceful and well protected. Everbody is extremely kind and helpful. You arrive a a guest and leave as a friend.
The Landings is a dream come true, and the Delegal Creek Marina fits in perfectly.

Great stay, 2014-07-12
Captain: , palm harbor (190)

We planned to be here 1 night but due to weather stayed for the week. Billy, the dockmaster was great. The docks are in good condition as are the facilities. We went aground on the entrance right before a negative low tide and Joel came out and gave us a nudge and led us in (at green 3 red 4). Billy gave us a free night since we got stuck. The island is beautiful and the loaner golf cart allowed us to check out the island as well as provision at the village. WiFi here is the fastest I've seen at a marina to date. no issues streaming Netflix or any other internet needs.
One note, there are huge birds (night egrets) that roost on docklines and rails at night. They are a bit scary if you decide to take a walk to the shower etc after dark as you dont see them and they make a weird squawk when they fly away.
We will be back.

Just a note, we have been back on our way to Charleston in mid June and are there now on our way back July 12. We love this marina. Quiet, secure, great staff, friendly residents and a beautiful place.

enter another world, 2014-06-27
Captain: , Cape Coral (221)

The entrance is not so easy, but they have a good map on the homeplage, don't try it at low tide. Billy the Harbormaster is perfect, nothing is to much for him. He got us a golf cart for free, gave is the tickets to all the clubs, organised repairs - he is the best! The Landings is beautiful. They didn't have any hurricane the last 100 years, so there are old trees and a beautifull landscape. Everybody liked to be here. A lot of people come from Florida to Georgia, they have 6 golf clubs, 35 tennis places, 3 pools, 6 clubs with restaurants (where you are welcome as a Marina visitor). If you miss this place, you haven't seen all!

filled out question sheet on landings before we arrived in area. recieved a call promising us plenty of extras, when we arrived at mid falling tide we had no problem getting in 4' draft. we were provided golf cart with map of the landings. given golf package for 2 people and $50 dollar gift card for pro shop. It does not get any better than this....Billy the dock master is the best

NICE facility once you get in!, 2014-04-08

Be sure to follow the markers on the way in. Hug the greens and pay no attention to the charts. Don't try it at low tide if you're over 5', high slack is best, as the current really roars through sometimes. . Great grocery store at "the Village" which you get to by bike or the loaner golf cart. You also are a temporary member of the club, and can golf, swim in the pool, eat in the country club, etc. Very quiet.

Great Marina and Beautiful Community, 2014-04-03
Captain: , Cape Coral, Fl (838)

We stayed last night at Delegal Creek and it is a great marina. Billy, the dockmaster, is great and couldn't be more helpful. He gave us a tour of the facility and we used the golf cart to tour the community and The Village shopping. It's a beautiful community and wished we could have stayed longer.

Delegal Creek Marina, 2014-03-03
Captain: , Camp Lejeune, NC (180)

Completly cocur with Jim Healy's rating and navigation input. Billy, the dockmaster and owner truly wanted us to enjoy our stay. Cost with Boat US discount was .94 cents per ft. A value for this upscale marina located inside a gated community. Billy took us on a tour of his facility and offered use of a golf cart for shopping. This an excellent marina and a great stop to relax and sightsee the area.

Welcoming, excellent stop, 2013-11-25
Captain: , Pasadena, MD (1496)

Sanctuary and crew spent a couple of days here from 11/6 - 11/9/2013.

The entrance to Delegal Creek from the Vernon River/Ossabaw Sound IS NOT correctly drawn on the chart (US5GA24M) of the area; the land features have changed since the chart was produced. Cruisers can download a "local knowledge" satellite view chart from the marina website, or contact Billy, the dockmaster at Delegal Marina, for local knowledge. The region has a 6' - 7' tidal range, larger during celestial periods.

Sanctuary and crew entered Delegal Creek about 1 hr after celestial low tide (16h00, 11/6/2013), which wound up being equivalent to MLLW on our tide almanac. There is only one short stretch of shallow water on the entire route from the Vernon River to the marina. For about 20 - 30 yds immediately upstream of G'3' and R'4', we saw as little as 4.9 ft. at MLLW. Except for that stretch, water depths in Delegal Creek are not a concern. Minimum depths in marina slips are 6' all the way against the inner wall. Depths at the fuel dock and face docks exceed 20 ft. The facility is very well protected, has floating docks, wi-fi, restrooms, showers and laundry. Broadband WLAN coverage is 4 bars and fast. Facilities are "newish," well maintained and clean. Marina guests can get a "pass" from the dockmaster that allows access to all of the member-only clubs, including the several golf courses, in the Landings community. There is a small commercial center that has banks, ATMs, a food market, shoppes and restaurants. Golf carts are available for touring the Landings communities and Skidaway Island. Billy makes every effort to help visitors. This is an excellent stop.

Delegal Creek Marina Review, 2013-11-22
Captain: , Quoset Daviseville Naval Yacht Club (250)

Read many of the reviews below and decided to stop, a real nice place and beautiful island. Marina lends you a golf cart and nice food store exists in village, restaurants also available but you need to bike or take cart. Couple of banks in village as well.

Stay on green markers on way in, make certain to stay between red can and green day marker on way in. Once past entrance plenty of water under boat. Current is strong when going out or in so when docking make sure you are careful and take this into consideration, not a big deal after all we are boaters and I have seen much worse.

Docks are in great condition, nice bathrooms and great staff to help. Very low key marina but with all the necessities regardless of how long you want to stay.

Diesel is over $4.00 gallon and they give a discount based upon gallons purchased. Discount for Boat U.S. for transient rate of 1.25 per foot.

This will be a regular stop for us.

Great stop don't be afraid of the entrance, 2013-11-17

The entrance on charts looks like you going over ground but if you call ahead to Bill the dock master he will help guide you in. We rode out strong north winds here and it was good, also they have golf carts to get supplies about 3 miles away. Will make sure to stop here on the way north.

What a fabulous marina off the beaten track. A wonderful place tp spend a couple of days. When you arrive they hand you the key to a golf cart and give you a map of the community. Excellent floating concrete docks. There is lots of water on the approach ... just do as the dockmaster tells you. The NOAA charts are not detailed but the private marks are fine.

Delegal Creek Marina, 2013-10-24
Captain: , Sandwich (722)

Absolutely beautiful tucked inside Delegal Creek surrounded by marshes. This marina is part of The Landings development. The facilities are pristine and you have access to everything (golf, pool, kayaking, club house, nature trails, and picnic). The sunsets are spectacular. The views of the marshes are tranquil. Bath/shower clean. Laundry onsite. Use of golf cart to explore the development and %u201CThe Village%u201D center. Renee Gourmet Pot Pies brought to your boat! You may never want to leave.

Awesome adventure, 2013-09-10
Captain: , Southport, NC (716)

This place rocks. Billy gave us great direction into the creek without any problems on low tide. We draft 3.5 feet. I admit I was nervous though. Once in the creek we had deep water. The enterance is the trick. Call Billy on the phone or radio. Dont try iy on a low tide with the call. We took the golf cart to the grill 3.5 miles away. It was a real nice ride through this really nice community. Billy bend over backwards helping us settle in. If you love nature, you'll love this place. If you like shopping and the night life, this might not be for you. The price is right and it was a great experience

Great Marina, 2013-08-06
Captain: , Pensacola, Florida (132)

The staff at this marina are some of the best, the docks are great, Skidasway Island is fabulous, the only negative is the directions for getting into Delegal Creek from bouy 86. The NOAA charts have not been updated since 1933, even the directions in Active Captain will today bring you hard aground. Today, we asked for a "follow me" boat to come lead us in and that worked perfectly. The marina's website is being updated even as new bouys are being set this week. Use it or call the dockmaster to make this an enjoyable experience, it is worth the little effort.

Has everything, 2013-07-01
Captain: , Cape Coral FL (4188)

Good location, not far off the ICW. Deep water if you come in at or greater than mid tide. Was told our 4ft draft trawler could make it at low tide. Lola met us on the gas dock and helped us tie up - did a great job. Very hospitable and helpful. Explained everything about the marina and the resort. They have a golf cart that can be used to go to dinner or into the Village (3 miles) for restaurants/grocery store. We didnt leave the boat because of a massive T-storm but this place looks inviting ....for $1/ft. That's my price. Will pull me into a marina every time instead of anchoring out.
Lola came back to our boat at the end of her shift and asked us if we needed anything at the store%u2026.and we did. We needed bread and milk. She went to the store and got it for us !!! This is a big deal to us traveling by boat without a car. She even gave us her cell phone # to call after hours if we had any questions about anything.
THAT is customer service at its best !!!

One of the best!, 2013-04-25
Captain: , Southport (52)

We never saw less than 8' at mid rising tide following Nav instructions. Both Billie and Garrett are awesome and went above and beyond to make us feel welcome. Bathrooms/showers clean and nice. Laundry facilities also nice. We used the courtesy golf cart a few times to check out this beautiful Community, the Landings and to take advantage of the Village Grocery store.
We will be sure to make Delegal Marina a regular stop on our future trips!

Great Marina...DON'T MISS IT!, 2013-04-12
Captain: , Winter Garden, Fl (2391)

The entrance is a little tricky, but not if you follow the detailed description on this posting under NAV and enter at 1/2 to full tide rising. We have a four foot, four inch draft and had no problem coming in - passed up the fuel dock and went in to a southerly facing slip in the first fairway. We sat out a heavy strom system that came through - 30 + mph winds with no problems. The golf cart was great...went to town and got groceries as well as a sandwich & beer at the bar & grill!

Take advantage of the rates...$1.25/ft w/ a 25% BoatUS discount - $0.94/ft, $10 per nt 50A power...less than $100 for two night stay for a 42' boat!

Billy, the dockmaster, is great - very helpful.

A Diamond in the Rough, 2013-03-22
Captain: , Annapolis (434)

An oustanding small marina with all the right attributes - good docks, helpful staff and beautiful setting. It's only drawback I see is that the entrance can be a tad iffy at anything less than half tide. Otherwise it's great. There's a bit of current during tide changes but Garrett, the new dockmaster (two weeks), will assist to make anything happen. He put us at the fuel dock to move to a slip at slack tide later if we wanted. And at $.94/foot Boat US dockage fee, what is there not to like? We're staying a couple of days waiting out bad weather.

Should be a five Star, 2013-03-08
Captain: , North Myrtle Beach, SC (3210)

A must stop. Staff is A-1 and neat place. A Gem. The only thing that keeps it from 5 stars is the current. Good facilities. The shallow spot entering at G3 is not that bad if you draw 4' or so. Megayachts have been here. Take cart to village or take your bikes - great biking island..

Delegal Creek great stay, 2012-12-06
Captain: , toronto (20)

We purchased diesel at great bridge (Atlantic Yacht Basin) $3.73 per gallon and another 5cents off if you stayed a night @ $1 foot. Imagine, when we get to Georgia the most run down marinas are overpriced and fuel ranges from $ 4.39 $4.48 $4.62. Imagine our joy when we radioed and found fuel was $3.74 if you purchase over 100 gals at this marina. less than 100 = $3.84. Boaters! Its a great place, all you have to do is watch the tide as at low tide they have only 4feet at the entrance. They even have a courtesy golf cart and knowledgeable people. Young Matt is great and it was our pleasure. Boaters should use it more.

Thank you for your assistance in getting me on the right track!

Captain: , Tierra Verde, FL (41)

This is a first class facility in an idyllic setting. We were extended every imaginable accommodation. We tooled around this very beautiful setting in a courtesy golf cart. Everything at the marina appeared to be clean, neat and well managed. Not a plethora of eateries close by, but we were extended access to the resort dining facilities. The Dockmaster Billy was very helpful and thoughtful. We will definitely build our future cruising plans on this leg of the East Coast around stopping at Delegal Creek Marina.

Delightful Location, 2012-11-04

Staff (Rutledge) went out of their way to help us. Free golf cart was a bonus and a lot of fun. Entrance is well marked. My Navionics chart was wrong.

Billy, the dockmaster, is GREAT !! He gave us a personal tour of the marina, a golf cart to explore this very nice gated community, optional kyack use and nice heated bathrooms. There is very good Verizon internet connection. Price is most reasonable and diesel was the lowest in 400 miles. You owe it to yourself to stay at this marina. We even were invited to dinner by the live aboards.

Billy is great, 2012-10-22
Captain: , Beaufort, SC (541)

Billy, Dockmaster makes it all happen. Small, quite, private marina in a upscale gated community, with 96 miles of walking/bike paths, birds, beautifull marshes, wonderfull live oak trees, just a very relaxing pleasant place to stop. No commercial vacilities close by, but you can order a delicious Chicken Pot Pie delivered to your boat. Check the tides before you go in, but if they are favorable, this is a great alternate stop to Isle of Hope.

Ignore your Chart Plotter, Not the Marina, 2012-10-15
Captain: , St. Augustine, FL (4307)

Many cruisers do not consider Delegal Creek Marina due to a shallow spot in the channel and the fact that the channel into the marina is inaccurately located on chart plotters. Neither fact should deter you.
While the channel does not match the chart plotter, it is well marked and the path is described in extensive detail on the Navigation tab. For those whom detail may intimidate, just head directly from the ICS marker #86 to the channel marked by Pvt #1 and #2, continue to marker #3 and make a sharp turn to port. Then just follow the markers. Ignoring your chart plotter and paying attention to the markers works well here, as it does in some other areas of Georgia.
The shallow bump in the channel is 3.5 %u2013 4 feet at MLW. Since this area has 7 %u2013 9 foot tides, there is a large window when crossing the shoal is easy and safe. Yes, there is current at the docks if you arrive mid-tide, but you can plan for that or request a face dock for easier landing.
Delegal Creek Marina has quality facilities and friendly, helpful staff. A stay here is a pleasant experience.

Excellent Marina But Tricky Navigation, 2012-08-01
Captain: , St. Simons Ilsland, GA (547)

A lot has already been noted about the amenities of Delegal Creek Marina. This is an excellent faciity that has not always been open to the public.

I've spoken with the General Manager of this marina and Landings Harbor Marina and I believe that The Landings Association is making a serious effort to bring this marina in line with comparable commercial marinas in the area.

I highly suggest that you contact the marina for navigation instructions. The charts simple are not correct for several areas in Ossabaw Sound and Delegal Creek entrance. Local knowlege is a must.

Also, go to this link and print out the entrance chart for Delegal Marina.

Looking for a Nice Place north of the Ga Line?, 2012-07-13
Captain: , Louisville (301)

If your insurarance requires you to be north of the Florida/Georgia border, as ours does, consider Delegal Creek. Everything written in John Rie's review of 11/27 is spot on. Approach markers are accurate, and as he says, approach above a mid tide. Docking is easier in slack conditions. I would also add that the staff we have met there have been extrememly helpful and courteous, including agreeing to start our engines and generator weekly while we are away for a bit. Their pricing is very reasonable, and the docks are secure and in good repair.

Dockmaster, 2012-02-04
Captain: , Isle of Palms, SC (311)

Churlish line handler. No offer of alleged amenities. After hours discovered no water at all on piers. Call to 'emergency' phone went unanswered. Latest C-Map chart COMPLETELY disagrees with privately-marked channel. Markers accurately reflected channel. Minimum depth encountered was 9ft at +2ft tide

Last stop after Savananh, best place!!, 2011-12-10
Captain: , Newport, RI (204)

After passing Savannah, where to stop? Stop here !! Use the golf cart to get groceries, cash, and dinner all in a gated community. Jimmy on the dock will set you up!! The places inside the gate are more formal, outside get pizza and groceries, the best place on the ICW !!

Very nice stop, 2011-12-01
Captain: , Galena, MD (1856)

As previous review indicates marina is very nice. Anything but low tide and depth should not be a problem. Current is strong.
New management is in place and they are very helpful. Showers and laundry are very clean. Observation deck for sundowners and great view. Nice paths to walk the dog and captain.
Loaner golf cart and you can ride to bar/restaurant, bank and gas station/convience store.
This would also be a nice place to leave the boat for extended period as the community is gated and Savannah is close.
We will stop here again.

Once past the entry..., 2011-11-27
Captain: , Westbrook, CT (453)

The marina an Delegal creek have plenty of water, but the entry has a shoal of soemwhere around 2-3 feet at low tide. If you wait until mid tide or better, a 6 foot draft boat will have no issues.

Marina is part of the Landings, a Kiawah type community on Skidaway Island (8000 residents). Marina has floating concrete docks, fuel, wonderful showers and a laundry, and is manned only 8 AM - 5 PM. A courtesy golf cart is available. Shopping is a few miles away. We paid $1.25 per foot. Great quiet place, about a 20 minute drive from Savannah.

Delegal Creek Marina, 2011-11-11
Captain: , Green Cove Springs, FL (250)

Great stop just before/after crossing Hell's Gate.
Attached to lovely community of The Landings.
Follow the red and green markers carefully, entrance has a shoal but with 7+'tides, we've never had a problem.
Good deep water after you make your turn up the channel
Miles of bike paths. Decent grocery, Post Office, casual restaurant, and drug store nice easy bike ride away( about 3 miles). Marina has a golf cart for boater's use also.
Good pump out.
Interesting to watch the wild pigs on the island to the west.

Quiet stop, 2010-11-12
Captain: , Ophelia, VA (849)

I don't think you will find a quieter stop along the ICW. Most of the boats in the marina belong to the local residents on Skidaway Island so there is not much activity. After the last stop being Fernandina Beach Marina where it is the town pastime to walk the docks, it was a refreshing change. No services or stores are nearby. Docks and walkways to the showers have been completely redone.

Watch the entrance carfully, 2010-04-06
Captain: , Savannah,GA (376)

The entrance to this marina is best gained from the south, there are floating buoys and signs at the entrance so do not navigate outside of the bouys. The marina resturant is being rebulit as of our last visit on 4-2-10, dockage is good and there is anchorage space just north of the marina.

Nice dockage and a friendly staff. Water and 30/50 amp electric.
Restaurant closed apparently during a transition. A very strong current and a 7' tide. There are no amenities within walking distance. The restrooms were very nice.

Nice little marina. Well maintained and friendly staff at a reasonable price.
It is not convienent for getting to a store. It is in a golf community.

They give you a map of Delegal Creek once you arrive-wish I had it on the way in. Believe your chartplotter even if visual doesn't agree-some land on the chart isn't there any more. No cable but good wifi. Nice floating docks. No restaurant.. Boat/US discount.
