Additional info: B Dock, like the other public docks in the central harbor, is a linear dock. The dock is equipped with a finger on the south west end, close to the shorline for boaters with smaller boats. Built in 2001 this is the only small boat dock in the public harbor equipted with electric service and dock lighting. In order to provide service to the maximum number of patrons, all docks in the central harbor require rafting up to four boats deep. Every attempt is made to match boats of similar sizes to safely provide the maximum the amount of dockage available to visiting boaters. In most cases the difference in size between boats will be no more that 3 feet.

Reviews for DeRivera Park B Dock
Excellent dock mates!!, 2016-07-09

We stayed at b dock for our second time and found the dock mates to be extremely professional, fun and most importantly educated in providing proper docking assistance. We bunkered down for a storm which mostly split the island however found we had good shelter and a relaxing night sleep. Late night music is common here however that never has bothered us. Enjoy!!

great dock crew, 2015-09-09

These guys and gals know what they are doing. They are are very attentive to your needs and will make your stay comfortable. I asked to stay on the outside of the raft because we were leaving late into the night. Not only did they make it happen they moved us and others around to make it work. Well kept docks and utilities. Top notch

Rafting required but the staff are very courteous and professional.

B Dock is ... the place to be, 2013-08-21
Captain: , LaSalle, ON (85)

This past weekend was our first trip to Put in Bay with our new boat and our first time at the public docks.

B Dock is definitely the place to be. It is party central but even with the docks full the party was never out of control. It is loud and crazy at times so if you're opposed to this then this isn't the dock for you.

I concur with one of the other posters that John and his staff are skilled dockmasters and excellent boat wranglers ... and I do mean wranglers ... the way they shift around the boats to fit as many boats as possible is something to see.

I haven't seen a better and more professionally run dock. From the minute we threw the lines we were thoroughly taken care of. They tied our boat, put out the fenders and connected the shore power.

Whatever you do, make sure you radio the dockmaster on Channel 68. There were a few boats that attempted to dock without contacting first. The one tried arguing with the dockmaster and was turned away.

Having arrived early on Thursday we were on the wall. We were concerned about getting out early on Sunday morning. John assured us this wouldn't be an issue and it wasn't. I let him know we were ready to go and within ten minutes they pulled the three boats that were rafted to us ahead one row and we were off.

These guys really work hard so make sure you tip accordingly!

The only reason why I rated 4 stars as opposed to 5 is because rafting is mandatory. Therefore, you can't control who is rafted to you and how they behave. The drunk guy on the boat rafted 4th out ran across three bows in his black flip flops in the middle of the night to check his shore power connection. So be prepared to tolerate some less than appropriate behaviour.

Public Dock of choice, 2012-08-29

Aside from the skilled dockmasters and the shelter on B-Dock, it also has by FAR the best shore power infrastructure. Unlike parts of A & C, B-Dock has no direct exposure to open water.

B-Dock is party central, 2012-08-02

Right at the corner where the finger hits the main pier is probably the loudest, and rowdiest transient dockage you can find in Lake Erie. If you want lots of drinking and debauchery, this is a great place to tie your boat on the weekend. Be prepared for rafting, 4 boats off the pier is mandatory. John the dockmaster and his staff are excellent boat wranglers. They will get you rafted up without much fuss and make sure the vessels line up as well as they can.

Great Dockmaster, 2012-07-25
Captain: , Catawba Island, OH (140)

We have stayed here a couple times this year and are very impressed by the Dockmaster. Very knowledgeable and considers the treatment of everyone's boat as priority #1. Tough to get a spot sometimes since it is first come/first served with no reservations. Great updates on dock space can be found on Facebook.
