Reviews for Day Island Yacht Club
Great Facility, 2013-06-07
Captain: , Orting, WA (150)

We moved out boat here about 5 months ago. Couldn't be happier. I don't consiider myself a "yacht club" type, but nice folks, fun events, lots of cruises and very reaonable moorage rates. Only drawback is there is often a couple hours at low tide where you can't get in....be patient grasshopper.

A great family yacht club, 2008-04-09
Captain: , Tacoma, WA (13)

There are many reasons to join DIYC. We are a cruising club that has great facilities as well as a unique marina.

We currently has about 200 families that have joined the club. Many participate in our monthly cruises and enjoy the benefits of cruing together.

The club is a member of the Grand 14, which are the 14 oldest yacht clubs in Puget Sound. We extend and enjoy the benefits of reciprocal moorage with each of these clubs.

We are fortunate to own our own moorage in a beautiful harbor. Having owned our own tidelands for many decades and having no mortgage we can offer our members the lowest cost moorage that can be found in the Northwest. We each own our own boathouse and a typical slip (14' x 36' ) runs a little less than $60.00 per month. One of the ways we control our costs comes from the fact that we have a strong volunteer group that oversees and maintains our marina. A lot of the enjoyment and satisfaction that comes from this is the experience of working together. There is always a friend to help you with boat projects.

We have a guest dock, launch ramp and tidal grid for hauling out boats. Our club house is a beautiful building looking out over the Narrows Bridge. Monthly dinner meeting are served in the upstairs and a full game / TV / Billiards room is in the ground level.

If you own a boat or are planning on getting into boating you may want to check into DIYC. It's a great experience.
