Reviews for Dana Point Marina
Decent shelter, nice environment, 2015-06-28

If you are on an end tie, facing up adn down the fairway there is some surge. Good clean facilities and a lovely area

We thought it was great!, 2013-02-11
Captain: , Salt Lake City (186)

When we were here in June 2010, we thought it was a great facility. The power & water worked. The docks were in good shape and secure with key card access. The heads, showers & laundry were all secure with key card access. The area is gorgous. The shopping & resturants are close (groceries are a long ways). The only down side we experienced was the less than friendly staff. Fortunately we only had to deal with them for a few minutes at check-in & check-out.

Needs improvement, 2012-09-02
Captain: , Kirkland, WA (4478)

We stayed here 3 nights and we were ready to move on. The area is beautiful. City is nice, beaches are great, people are fine, but the marina is not up to the standards of the surrounding area. Security on the docks is a joke, laundry facilities consist of one rusty washer and one dryer open to the out-of-doors and public, showers need cleaning, and docks are in need of maintenance. Limited transient space prevented us from staying our requested 5 days. Not a bad place to stay but just not up to the standards that we expected for beautiful Dana Point.

Not so Good, 2010-08-15
Captain: , Austin Texas (120)

We visited this marina twice this summer and the marina needs work, the power is not available for larger boats and the people who work there act like they work for the Government, which they do. It is definitely not a "For Profit" operation where they try to make their customers happy. Ask them to fax something for you?

The town is very nice and they have a number of good restuarants and good shopping. If you need work done on your boat there's a lot of very good shops there to help you-Jeddy for upholstery, Wolf for Canvas, John Russ for engine work and a number of other shops.

The second time we stayed there was to get work done by the Nordhavn folks.

Great place shame about the mainas, 2009-06-20
Captain: , London (639)

Once you get over the fact that this is a manufactured harbor and town its is quite pleasant but the marina slips are in bad shape and the electircity supply is rubbish. However if you need upholstery done Jeddy is your man. If you need canvas Wolf is your man.
