Reviews for Cypress Cove Marina
2016-10-24 protected marina, 2017-01-05

We stayed her for one night 2016-10-24. Helpful staff and secure, protected dockage. Restaurant nearby. Great staging spot for the Baptiste Collette channel and the trip north to Gulfport. A very interesting trip. Tom Ray on Raydiance

We spent two nights here when transiting from Galveston to Tampa in our 43' ketch. This is a fishing center, and we were the only sailboat in sight, but the dockmaster took good care of us and we had a great time immersed in the offshore fishing culture.

Stayed overnight for crew change while transiting the Gulf., 2014-07-14

Nice facility in the middle of a oil rig support area. Mostly occupied by sportfish type boats but sailboats are no problem. Manager was low key and friendly as were the staff. Large blockhouse type hotel was reasonably priced and clean. Showers are available for boaters but you have to rent a room for $25. Washing machine and dryer are located under the hotel. The restaurant won't win any prizes but after 4 days on a boat the food tasted fine.

Friendly and well maintained facility, 2013-09-19

This marina is more for the recreational boater and sport fisherman. There is also a hotel here as well and a pool. Store offers a variety of food and supplies.

Docks and ramps are well maintained and the grounds are well kept. Everyone that works here is polite and very friendly.

Isolated but hometown friendly., 2013-06-21

In July 2011, we dropped in on Mike when the CG towed us in. (Long story but air and diesel don't mix.) The Harbor Restaurant stayed open real late for us to get dinner. Mike was in the middle of running a fishing tournament but had time to give us a mechanic's number. Mike suggested that we not go north to New Orleans against the current but to go south and out to the Gulf to catch the ICW away from the Mississippi. Thanks, Mike for all your help.

We are back again this year cutting across Louisiana to avoid the mess at the Harvey Locks in New Orleans. Same friendly atmosphere and helpful workers.

Very friendly, 2011-09-15

We stopped here sept 9th 2011 for fuel and supplies on our way to New Orleans. Mike was extremely friendly, even giving us the keys to his truck to go to the grocery store in town. Fuel and groceries are a little expensive but shrimp are very cheap. The pool area is very nice though we did not have time to indulge in it. We highly recommend this marina to anyone passing through tiger pass.

Have my boat docked at Cypress Cove for summer, is one of two marinas in Venice for Sportfish and Cruisers. The marina is back in service, and Mike the dockmaster is very helpful with the basics. Ellzey's Marine Hardware a short car ride and is well stocked wit Marine Supplies. Venice by it's nature is somewhat isolated, and is not a vacation stop. Most boaters are either passing through or here to fish.
New pool and food service are much improved, although the channel into the marina can be tricky (when coming from the Mississippi River) with a strong river current down Tiger Pass. Some boaters prefer to go down current past the marina entrance and motor back up current to enter.
