Reviews for Cypress Cove Marina
Super helpful and friendly staff, 2015-06-27

We decided to haul out here in Columbia rather than our homeport of Elizabeth City for rudder repairs. They have an incredibly helpful staff and the owners are super friendly. The haul out and blocking was done very meticulously. I wanted to do the work myself but the staff guys were nice to show me some tips and tricks. We draw 4 ft and had no problems getting in/out of the tiny canal.

We stopped for diesel - they had the best prices for several miles around. While the dock hand helped pump the gas the owner, Tommy Everette, brought us a beautiful welcome bag. This is something he and his wife Mary Lou have created to welcome folks to columbia. It contained local wine, two wine glasses, two containers of roasted peanuts, coffee, and many other items. They also included several brochures about things to do! It was great. This is a fantastic Marina and boat yard. We also needed six pieces of starboard cut to 3x4 inches for our dinghy davits. They were able to cut those and drilled holes in them for the davit screws. They did all is within 15 mins and at a great price. Don't miss this Marina. It's the best!!!!!

this is a real working boat yard - marina - nothing fancy - made to feel very welcomed - Frank, Cliff, Bud & linda will go out of their way to help you - a bit off the ICW - borrow the truck - cute, charming small old town - food lion, NAPA, drug store, ABC store & a very helpful hardware store in town - it just doesn't get much better then this

We had called ahead as we were in need of our head repaired. We were told to come on in and they would take care of it. We arrived pretty late I the day and were greeted by Capt Frank who couldn't have been more gracious and welcoming. Cliff (the mechanic) arrived within 5 minutes and disassembled the whole toilet assembly and not only figured out the problem, but expertly repaired it. While there, I mentioned an electrical problem, and he also took took care of that. He noticed a very minor leak in my cooling system, and also fixed that. Capt Frank recommended a local restaurant, The Old Salt Dog Oyster Bar, made reservations for us, and loaned us his truck to get to town. The food was excellent, and were comped dessert. They provided complimentary dockage for the night. The marina is well protected and very nice. Wish we lived closer, we would have found a new home port.
