Reviews for Crown Pointe Marina
Transients treated like the locals and regulars!, 2016-09-29
Captain: , Seabrook, NH (101)

We pulled in for one evening, and they treated us as if we were one of the regulars! Shelley offered us hommade brownies and treats for our dogs... she was so warm and welcoming! Even though we were only passing through, she really wanted to make us feel like CPM was our home. We really enjoyed our stay, and would recommend it to anyone!

Our stay at Crown Pointe Marina has been a very nice experience, 2015-10-04

The Marina offers easy access to Chesapeake Bay. The rates are reasonable. The laundry, bathroom and shower facilities are kept very clean and the staff is friendly, helpful and responsive. The other boaters have be quite friendly.

Great staff, easy access to the York River and Chesapeake Bay, official weigh station for your big catch, nice gas dock, well marked channel

Captain: , Urbanna, VA (10)

Easy access, clean facilities, clean showers, TWO pools, parties with free food during the summer, great staff, and great people. I also hear they are now even growing oysters for the Chesapeake Bay Foundation. Overall, a very enjoyable marina community. We will certainly be back this summer!

Shoal Spot On The Approach Of This Nice Marina, 2013-06-03
Captain: , Vero Beach, FL (884)

Previous reviews have covered most of it. There are two buildings, each with pool, laundry (coin-op, $1.00 each), bathrooms. Long walk around the perimeter, through the boatyard area to office from A through D docks. Facilities were clean. The pool looked very nice, though we didn't use it. The east building's men's room has 3 showers, 2 urinals and only 1 toilet. Women's has 2 showers, 3 toilets. WIFI signal good on D dock, but a bit slow. There are no trash receptacles on the docks. We found only one at the pool, plus a dumpster in the back corner of the parking lot.
Docks are fixed wooden, with finger piers and pilings. We called ahead for a slip and hailed as we approached. No dock attendant was present. Numbers on the slips on D dock were largely unreadable or not present.
On our approach in the Perrin River, depths seemed better than charted, except for two small 6' spots just before and alongside the fish house docks, We passed mid-channel (docks out to a line of crab floats) at about mid-tide; tide is 2' or so here. However, when we left next day about 15 minutes past low, we stayed about 50' farther off the fish house docks and didn't find any spots under charted depths.
Access to the Bay is not as long a trek as many other area choices.

Marina and Service, 2013-05-09
Captain: , Charlottesville, VA (10)

The location is ideal. Facilities are old and a bit dated, but clean and well maintained. Service on my boat, including hauling and bottom painting and engine service has been excellent.

The Best Marina, 2013-03-03
Captain: , Crown Point Marina (10)

We are excited that Spring is almost here and we can get back to Crown Point Marina to sail!!! Two years ago we began searching for a Marina and we had certain criteria we wanted. We started at the James River and ended at the Potomac River with our check list. Crown Point, was beautiful, had 2 pools, gas on site, store/office and amazing bathroom- everything on our list!! What we can add to that list 2 years later, is they have awesome people that work there!!! Don, the service manager has fixed so many things that have come up with our motor or electrical connections!! What is great is we can tell him what is wrong when we leave on Sunday, and when we return the next time it is always fixed. We live 3 hours away so this service is invaluable to us!! Kim the office manager is always kind and helpful!! She can tell you the best places in the area to dine, or where the fish are biting!! We love Crown Point Marina- come check it out!!

5 1/5 foot draft, no problem, 2012-12-08
Captain: , Perrin River (10)

I've kept my boat here for four years. Have always had good things to say reguarding staff, facilities and fellow boat owners.

Excellent staff OK marina, 2012-10-25
Captain: , Deltaville, VA (80)

This is an older marina but it seems it is on the upswing with many updates in the works. The staff and slip holders I have run across are always more than helpful and always willing to lend a hand or chat. The marina has two pools which is nice as it cuts out what could be quite a walk. All the bathrooms were clean. If the docks and facilites matched the staff it would be an easy 5 stars.

Feels like Home, 2012-09-28
Captain: , Crown Pointe Marina, Hayes VA (10)

This is my first year at Crown Pointe, but it feels like it's been home for a while. I enjoy the quiet, relaxing atmosphere and the staff and other slip holders have been warm and always willing to help out with whatever is needed.
Thanks to Kim and Don for a great summer.
Looking forward to next year already and the striper fishing hasn't even started yet.

Crown Pointe Marina, June 2012, 2012-07-08
Captain: , Topping, VA (30)

We made reservations efficiently earlier in the day and had patient directions in. We arrived late due to thunderstorms and arrived in the middle of a squall with winds gusting to 30 knots. Long story short, the marina personnel and slipholders there were a great help and cheerfully caught and tossed extra lines to help me into my slip, even patient with me when I did not hear that I had the option of tying up at the fuel dock til the storm passed! Facilities are more than adequate, not a brand new marina but entirely serviceable. Channel depth good, about 7 feet. Did not stay but overnight but, again, community and staff there were very hospitable.

Crown Point, 2012-06-11
Captain: , Gloucester, Va (222)

Crown Point is one of the more affordable full service marinas in the area. They have many transient slips, a large travel lift & dry dock & repair facilities, ship store, diesel, gas, Ice & free pump out. Gas is reported to be going ethanol free. They have made improvements this spring with a new pump out, both of the pools fixed up & operational, new deck chairs, ummbrellas & picninc / grilling areas. Wi-Fi works pretty well, & security is tight with key code for the baths & cameras watching the parking lots, etc. We have enjoyed keeping our boat here for the past 3 years, & are glad to see the facilities improving.

Great Staff, 2011-08-30
Captain: , Wilmington Deleware (330)

If the facilities matched the Management team (Kim & Donald) they would have a 5 star facility. Thank you both for making our stay enjoyable.
