Reviews for Crown Bay Marina
Great location and convenient to stores, chandlery and safari buses., 2016-06-20

We enjoyed our three days here. Great staff and lots of support services close by. Getting to stores easy on safari buses.

Slip Fees at Crown Bay Marina, 2016-03-15
Captain: , Green Cove Springs, FL (251)

Transient slip fees are $3 per foot, minimum 40 feet. Water is $0.16 per gallon and electric is metered but not pricey. There is a Gourmet Gallery and Pueblo grocery stores nearby. There is an AT&T store right there and AT&T and Sprint are the only services that work in the USVI including St. John. Laundry facilities are on site.

Great staff, nice accommodations showers are clean but no hot water, shops and restaurants pricy, and the black dust is constant and annoying, it made us leave but if we ever had to stay again in St Thomas we would chose this marina over all the rest

Secure marina, 2014-11-27
Captain: , Fort Lauderdale (263)

The marina is well protected from most winds and waves but does get a bit of chop if the winds are strong. Nothing bad but make sure your fenders are well positioned.

Docks are fixed concrete construction generally arranged for alonside mooring. Longer boats will utilized the pilings for their bow lines. Depths are 20+ feet.

Staff is responsive and pleasant. Marina is well maintained with several businesses onsite including chandler, pet groomer, AT&T, laundry, grocery store, coffee/ice cream kios, restaurant/bar and dive shop.

There is an active dingy dock serving the moored boats across the bay as well as small ferry service to Water Island and other locations.

Yes there is noise from the cargo warf as well as cruise ships but it did not bother us.

Good place to leave the boat when off island. Caretakers available from the office to tend mooring lines, fenders, etc at a fair price.

This is a very secure marina. We kept the boat here and flew off island for 10 days with out any problem although they require some one to watch your boat. Pueblo supermarket one block a way, propane nearby. Large marine store on site. It is next to a container terminal so it could be noisy at times.

Excellent staff, 2013-12-30

Crown Bay marina was our destination after a 10 day passage from Florida. We had to change our reservations while underway with no problem. Forgot that we only reserved the slip for 2 days during the Christmas holiday and on Sunday were told we had to leave on Monday. We really weren't ready to leave and must have looked desperate, cause Christina juggled boats and called to say we could stay in the same slip through Christmas and perhaps longer if necessary.

The facility was very nice. We enjoyed the restaurant and bar - meals and drinks were better than expected. Laundry was on site, a bit pricey for wash ($5.50-6.25 per load) but water is precious here. Dryers took quarters in any amount - $2.00 was good for 40 minutes. Easy walk or taxi ($5.00 pp) ride to town and touristy shopping. Pueblo grocery a short walk from marina and many marine services are on the old sub base nearby.

Only negative was the temperature of the water in the shower. It could be a couple degrees warmer.

Would definitely go back to this marina.

Great Service, 2013-07-14
Captain: , Seattle, WA (445)

Great marina and the service is excellent. Great market here you can get anything right at the marina and the local market is right across the street. The marina is a bit far from town and the loading of the freighters can get nosiy. But a very nice marina and much cheaper and smoother then the big mega yacht marina in town.

Convenient location, 2012-06-14

Do not come here for spectacular views, but do come for convenient access to store, salon, restaurant/bar, marine businesses and the airport.

Crown Bay Review !!, 2012-02-07
Captain: , Clearwater FL (685)

This gets a 3 because it has nice amenities & convenience to airport and propane. HOWEVER, the adjacent commercial cargo loading facility spews headache producing fumes and loud pounding noises 24/7, with bright lights all night long shining into the boat. The dirty black dusk covers the boat in nothing flat. When questioning the marina restaurant as to whether or not that cargo loading stops sometime in the night, the reply was "No, never stops. It gets so bad here patrons depart the restaurant, cancelling their meal". If you stay, be certain you get a far INSIDE slip, which would eliminate some of the noise and bright lights. The smell & soot depend upon the winds, obviously. I will never go back.

A great marina for airport access, 2011-11-05
Captain: , Daytona Beach, FL (533)

Only about 5 minutes to the airport by taxi. Slips are okay. Restaurant is enjoyable. Showers not the best.

Well stocked, dirty, loud, 2011-01-18
Captain: , Old Port Cove South (10)

There is a great grocery store, post office, marina store (hardware store is a 10 minute walk East of the marina), laundry, cool restaurant/bar (think bar food), even a pet groomer!

Water Island is a quick dinghy ride and the bar in Druif Bay has potlucks on Sundays and outdoor movies on Monday nights. Worth checking out. 'The Pie Whole' brick oven pizza restaurant in Frenchtown came hightly recommended, as did a sushi place just accross from Hassell Island.

I rate this marina (and the whole bay) as average because, despeite the amenities, there are constantly cruise and container ships coming and going and they are loud and DIRTY (if you keep a clean boat, you will be doing a lot of washing... black soot everywhere).

Great facility , 2009-11-17
Captain: , Hampton, VA (423)

Very nice facility and helpful staff. A little noise with a working commerical ship dock by marina. Nice slips with power and water. 5 min taxie ride to airport and another short taxie ride to customs or ferry landing. Showers not the best - not clean, A/C unable to overcome heat and humidity.

Great Customer Service, 2009-05-14
Captain: , Delray Beach, FL (83)

Even better price on fuel
