Reviews for Lagoon City Marina
New Ownership and New Standards, 2017-04-08
Captain: , Toronto (108)

Since the July 2012 review this marina has had two changes of ownership. Past reviews though correct at the time; do not accurately portray the marina or Lagoon City as it is today.

Present owners Ted and Connie Maillet and family have been in the marine services business on Lake Simcoe for many years. This is a family business with a very good reputation and a strong following in Lagoon City. This is a protected marina with service for power and sail vessls to 50+ feet.

Very Uncanadian Experience, 2012-07-02
Captain: , Lexington, Kentucky (160)

We were exceedingly disappointed in this marina. Our experience with Canadian marinas prior to visiting this one was uniformly fine. Instead of the friendly, helpful staff and boaters we found along the Trent Severn Waterway, this marina staff was diffident to the point of rudeness. They couldn't find our reservation (despite three phone conversations prior to our arrival); put us in a slip that was out in left-field (despite the seeming availability of closer ones); and didn't have wi-fi that could reach to our boat (despite advertising otherwise). The marina is part of a planned community and services a weekend boating community. It lacks the charm and unprentiousness we had come to expect in Canada. Instead of staying here, we suggest that you go a little farther north to the Ojibway Marina on the eastern shore of Lake Couchiching.

Good slips, friendly people.
Bistro for snacks and a very good restaurant at the Harbour Inn.
Make sure you take a trip through the canals.
