Reviews for Crandon Park Marina
Good Deal, covers basics, 2017-01-16
Captain: , Rockport, TX USA (50)

We had a mooring for four days. Priced right, staff was very helpful and friendly. Frank met us at dock and helped with lines. office staff went out of their way because I had called previous day and was told to call to confirm the next morning. I forgot, they called me to see if we were still on the way and wanted the only available spot still. Much appreciated! Easy access to bus and only about 15min. to Little Havana by Uber. Or the rest of downtown Miami. wear your swim suit in shower if your shy or have partner keep watch, semi private location. Laundry, $2 each, worked well. Easy bus ride to No Name Harbor and the park on south end of Key Biscayne.

Good stop for a couple of nights., 2016-12-29
Captain: , Kemah (21)

Stopped on our way south to wait out some wind. The staff is very helpful. No reservations, just call the day you are coming in and check availability. No wifi at the docks and no showers. Good bus service. Prices are good on dockage and fuel.

Poor Communication, 2016-06-30
Captain: , Nacogdoches (160)

Called ahead to reserve a slip for our 18.5ft beam catamaran and was told that they were sure they had a spot available for us. Left our anchorage and motored from Hurricane Hole only to be told they had no slip available, that they had made a mistake, but they offered to allow us to tie up next to the fish cleaning stations, along the side of the road.

protected mooring field, 2016-02-23
Captain: , Tampa, Fl (52)

If you are looking for secure spot with easy out to Hawk channel this is the spot. Do not allow live aboard long term but worked with us to get work done. No wifi outdoor showers, small dingy dock. Good bus access to key Biscayne. Good pump out and helpful staff. S/V Gratitude

They could be a four star IF, 2016-01-31
Captain: , Point Edward (459)

The stars for this marina are reduced because of the poor wifi unless you are standing by the office (not sitting in any of their benches), and the showers (outdoors cold water doesn't do it) Fuel price is good for diesel and the pumpout was working. Park is nice to visit. Returning the security gate key was not convenient for a Bahamas crossing at 6am since they open at 8 and we weren't going looking for a security guard.

Great Location - Lousy Showers, 2015-06-08
Captain: , Traverse City, Mi (281)

We lucked into a slip here for a couple of nights when we were headed south. Since we were on the outside dock, we had beautiful sunsets and a great view. The "showers" were pretty sad. A couple of small units with plastic shower curtains near the maintenance area of the marina offices - cold water only. The staff (Robert) was fantastic and very helpful. For the rate we paid, they should have decent facilities for transients.

Beautiful Park, good prices, no wifi, poor bathrooms, 2015-06-01
Captain: , LOPEZ ISLAND (70)

Stayed here for a week after retruning from the Bahamas. The park next door is terrific. Bathrooms leave a lot to be desired. On a scale of 1 to 5
Overall rating 3 (decent value for the money, $1.90/foot)
Bathrooms 1 (no privacy, showers just for beach users)
Internet 1 (none at docks)
Docks 5 (excellent protection, floating docks, good access)
Amenities 5 (outstanding beach nearby, good bike and walking paths)
Shopping 3 ( 2 mile bike ride on good paths to downtown Key Biscayne)

Will Not Go Back to this One, 2015-05-14
Captain: , Melbourne, FL (239)

Stayed here one night to do some shopping at Winn-Dixie. Took a short bus ride from the marina and back, very easy. As for the marina I was disappointed. No help at the dock while management sits up in their air-conditioned office. Single bathrooms at the office and cold shower only. Did not use either! I was told by my dock mate/live aboard this his 300 boat plus marina hasn%u2019t had a working pump out for months. For this County run marina this should be a crime. I was told to go down to No Name Harbor, 5 miles away, and use their facility. I have found the same attitude at most of the Miami public marinas.

okay for fuel?, 2015-02-09
Captain: , Ft. Myers, Fl. (361)

It was lightly raining. No dock help, they don't work in the rain. Asked the guy if he melts, he said no but he might get sick. OH, PLEASE! Had to get friends to help with docking, we undid our own lines & put up fuel nozzle. Never answered radio. Pump out not working. Didn't have any info on mobile pump out in area.

Funky fuel dock and NO pump out, 2015-02-02
Captain: , Solomons, MD (195)

Pump out is not working. We went in for fuel water and pump out...crazy fuel dock shape and our two boats could not dock without blocking each other (but bad wind did not help) but the dock hand was ready willing and able to help us. Also the pump out is no where near the fuel dock so we could not have used it even if it was working. Mooring field looked nice and there were two open balls today.

Good marina, 2015-01-23
Captain: , Moyock, NC (1084)

There are six Miami-Dade Park Marinas like this one which are nice, friendly, a good stay, affordable (a little more than the others), and working to improve their offering. Pump-out systems have been a problem. However, in 2015 all six marinas are scheduled with funding for new pump-out systems to be installed that will also tell the boater how much waste is removed.

Not the best Marina at all, 2015-01-17
Captain: , Portland, Maine (845)

Decent mooring field. Dinghy dock is too small. Dockmaster was very friendly and helpful but other staff were very reserved. They have 24 hour security and security cameras but one of our bikes was stolen from the locked bike rack. They went though most of the footage but not the night the bike was stolen. They said they could not look at that for another couple weeks. Miami police were unhelpful. Good fuel pricing and the water is good drinkable city water. We were waiting on a weather window and every time I renewed our registration the staff seemed less than pleased. Internet is only useable if you sit outside the office on the second floor. Key Biscayne is a very unfriendly and rude place unless you drive a Maserati or Ferrari. Do not expect these people to stop for a crosswalk. Lots of opportunistic crime. Smash and grabs in daylight.

Crandon Park Fuel & Bait, 2015-01-17
Captain: , Middle River, MD (90)

Very pleasant and helpful dock staff. Fuel & Bait is separate from Carndon Park marina (which is City of Miami run). No radio, so call on the phone for info and fuel price. Paid $2.79/gal Diesel on 16 Jan 2015

Crandon Park Marina, 2015-01-13
Captain: , Jupiter, FL (586)

Great views of Miami. Mooring balls available. The staff was totally indifferent to our needs. We asked for fresh water to fill our tank and asked if it was potable water. The dock guy had no idea if the water was drinkable or not. The office staff was nothing short of rude. Also, a long hike to the ocean for crossing to Bimini. We won't be back to this marina.

Best Marina, 2014-11-18
Captain: , Alta, Utah (155)

Some say this is the best Marina in the region. I agree.

Good ramps, 2014-10-05
Captain: , Pembroke Pines (10)

Good Marina, easy access to the bay and never had to wait to launch the boat from the ramps even on the weekends.

Great Fuel Stop, 2014-08-04
Captain: , Cocoa FL (670)

Stopped in to top off on way back from the Keys. Was met at dock by Franklin who was very helpful in helping get us tied up. Although we had to wait for 45 minutes to dock, it is to be expected as this is the lowest price fuel in the area. All staff we dealt with were professonal. We were a bit surprised about the sailboat-only mooring policy, but we moved to the Marine Statium anchorage for the night.

Bad experience with the dockmaster., 2014-07-16
Captain: , West Palm Beach (10)

Stopped in to drop my wife off and was greeted at the dock by Robert the dock manager who was informing me of the landing fee. I knew of the landing fee already and have no problem paying for landing however we use our boat part time for charter so he hit us with a 107.00 instead of the normal 20.00 fee for literally 2 minutes at the dock. I explained that we were not conducting any business and that this particular landing was private but he informed me that if the boat is used at all commercially then every time you land at Crandon Park you will get charged that ammount. Needles to say my patience wore thin at that moment and i promised him we wouldn't be back and would be posting negatively about the facility from here on out. After I cooled off a bit and rememberd the fuel is sold buy another company and has no affielation with the marina staff I decided I will still buy diesel there because we happen to like the fuel dock guys and it is convenient but the office help has an arrogance about them that for me at least is hard to stomach. I should also add that in the 3 days proceeding this incident we called no less than 10 times to arrange a slip or mooring. We left several messages none of which were returned. When we finally did get to someone in the office their seemed to be no customer service concern and the phone manners were rude to say the least. Marty Minari on S/V Mulligan

great ramps, 2014-04-07
Captain: , Miami (260)

good ramps with feul and bait/tackle

Outrageous charge for drop off, 2014-02-28
Captain: , Miami, fl (3666)

I called the marina office to see if we could tie up a few minutes to drop off people... "We charge $214 for this"

That s $3 a foot compared to the customary $1 to $1.25 at Epic, Miami Beach Marina, dinner Key etc

Yes I had her repeat the amount twice...

Good stop for fuel & water, 2014-02-25
Captain: , Philadelphia (331)

Cheapest diesel fuel in the Miami area ($4.07 including tax). Easy entry w/lots of water. Picked up a mooring for two nights ($21.40 per day)
No liveaboards allowed but transients ok. Was on far west side of field right up against the small Mangrove island, lots of depth. Birds of all kinds come home to roost for the night and take over the masts & spars before bedding down on the island for the evening. Lots of bird chatter before dark and at sunrise.

Good Fuel Prices, 2013-12-28
Captain: , Deerfield Beach, Florida (150)

Good well marked approach from the South. The fuel dock is located to the east of the slips near a stucco two story dock house. The gasoline prices were very good but the fuel has ethanol and is 89 or 93 octane. The office is located on the second floor of the dock house at the fuel dock. You need your registration and proof of insurance. The slip docks are floating concrete and in good condition. The approach canal on D dock is narrow as is the slip. The closest bathrooms for the D dock area are located just outside of a locked gate. The shower restrooms are far and we did not use them. The locked gate allows access to your dock and maybe one other. You can order pizza from Dominos. Most amenities are driving distance away. Over all a good experience if you are not requiring any local walk-to or bike-to services.

A long day down from Vero Beach, 2013-12-23
Captain: , Scottsdale (421)

An excellent marina with great prices and freindly staff. We had mooring ball 56 which is right at the front of the mooring field and easy to find. Fuel price was $3.70 per gallon, so we filled our tanks and cans. Nice small market in the marina with the basics.

Lowest Cost Moorings in Miami area, 2013-04-05
Captain: , Pines Lake, NJ (451)

We stayed here for 4 days waiting fo a weather window to go to Marathon. The moorings were the lowest cost and it was very eeasy to enter the harbor with a very wide channel up Biscayne Bay.

There are very few amentities and the showers are cold water. You can easily take the bus to Key Biscayne to provision or shop or go to restaurants. Its $4 each way. The staff was very nice however it was difficult to find our mooring ball because they arent numbered well with many numbers missing or just wrong. Folllow the map they give you.

Nice if available to transients, 2013-04-04
Captain: , Lavallette, NJ (251)

Pros: good floating slips, nice staff, very convenient for bikes and use of Miami-Dade mass transit (bus), reasonable rates for this area. Cons: will not take advance reservations, rest rooms OK, showers primitive-lack privacy, staff not available to take lines for docking or help w hook up.
Boat US discount stopped in 2011. Municipal marina with slips available on first come first served basis. Boat registration and proof of insurance required for slip rental.

Not very transient friendly, 2013-01-23
Captain: , La Pointe WI (201)

New staff, inexperienced helping us dock. Fuel was priced right, pumpout didn't work well. We were put at a 50 amp dock & harbormaster didn't have "splitter" so we had to move in the windy conditions to another. New washer & dryer, 2 basic showers in courtyard next to laundry with not much privacy. Not very clean in the showers and laundry. Bogus security system to get in the gates using cell phones with code that refused to work.

Good protection, 2012-12-19
Captain: , Galesville, MD (481)

We called and were met at the dock. We were quickly helped and assigned a mooring ball. Park is clean and well maintained. Good place to wait for a weather window.

caution on gas, 2012-03-29
Captain: , Jensen Beach (10)

I purchased a couple gallons of gas (note that it does contain ethanol) and began have trouble with my outboard almost immediately. I drained over 2 fluid oz. of water out of the tank. Fairly confident that this location was the problem.

Really nice and cheap diesel, 2012-02-06
Captain: , Lewis Creek, Md (1304)

We stayed while waiting for a window to Bimini. Very pleasent staff and 3.89 for diesel. $1.00 less than Miami marina.

Good Stop, 2011-12-29
Captain: , Freeport TX (143)

The dock are in good shape, Fuel reasonable, Help friendly, The first row of slips are open to the wakes and a south wind. Price was $1.75 per foot, no discounts.

Okay Place, 2011-12-23
Captain: , Basilea (20)

We stayed on a mooring for a couple of days. Well protected, price was OK (20US for 40ft). Friendly folks, basically all OK. Currently no internet in the harbor, Showers just have cold water and are very basic. Good Bus connection towards Key Biscayne, otherwise nothing onsite expect a very small store with just a few basics.

Nothing exiting but OK.

Mooring field, 2011-07-30
Captain: , West Palm Beach (121)

There is a wait list, but we were notified within 2 months of signing up. The most affordable place to moor a boat ($187.50), if you can give them 3 months rent, as well as boat registration and insurance. Plenty of depth for deep draft boats--one of our concerns. Dolphins and manatee frequent area. Noticeable tidal current. Dingys get stored on racks near beach, yachy club style. (Kiind of a pain.) NO LIVEABOARDS--but obviously spend weekends aboard are OK.

Friendly service, 2011-07-25
Captain: , Newburyport, MA (20)

Great stop on the way south

Crandon Park Marina, 2011-07-12
Captain: , Pensacola (460)

The docks were very nice and the proximity of the marina was good for touring Key Biscayne by bike. Although we had little interaction with the staff, they were nice enough. The facilities were very limited: 1 restroom each for men and women but they only included toilet & sink. There were showers but they weren't private. There was one washer/dryer for $2 each. The price of the marina is very good, especially when compared to others in the area, and we enjoyed touring the island so it was a worthwhile stop for us.

Very Happy, 2011-06-07
Captain: , Baltimore, MD (186)

This place is very nice. The docks are in great shape, the staff is friendly, and the price can't be beat for the area. As someone else noted, if you need help docking, someplace else might work better. We're quite happy with our choice to stay here. Just watch the markers on the way in as there's very skinny water around the here.

Crandon Park Marina, 2011-02-20
Captain: , Norfolk, VA (63)

We've always found them to be very friendly here. Easy access. Besides fuel and pump-out this is also a good place to top off the water tanks. If you make prior arrangements you can usually get them to accept and hold packages for you if you be stopping for fuel when you pick up the package.

Third visit , 2009-05-06
Captain: , Vancouver BC (500)

always friendly place, fuel was reasonable, pump out works, and the "building" is getting close to completion.

Crandon Park, 2009-02-19
Captain: , Whitehall, Mi (1754)

Cheap for the area. The docks are nice and the bus system can get you to various areas on the key or into Miami.

Staff was not very helpful. Had to move the boat 3 times due to poor directions and them not coming out to help.

Crandon Park Marina, 2008-12-10
Captain: , Havre de Grace (119)

Marina has floating docks that are in good shape. Due to construction not much in the way of amenities, only toilet. Very bike friendly placeand an easy ride to all of Key Biscayne

Good mooring field, 2008-04-04
Captain: , fairland (2653)

Almost no services due to construction. No showers, no laundry, no pumpout - only a stinky porta-potty. Lousy little dingy dock. But there is shore access, you can walk to a fair beach. It is 2.7 miles to the Winn-Dixie. The island to the west of the field has hundreds of nesting birds. Pretty neat. Well protected except for SW winds. Busy sportfishing dock and ramp. But, it is worth $16/day.

Municipal Marina - mostly annual dockage, 2007-02-27
Captain: , Key Biscayne FL (3215)

This facility has new docks but transient dockageis only available when owners are away. There was a busy nightclu/restaurant but this has been closed since 2005 and may not reopen. Fuel is available and there is good bus transport to Miami and Key Biscayne. Small snack and supply kiosk.

This is mostly an annual leased facility but it may be a good transient spot for visiting Miami. Great beaches at Crandon Park. Walk to Seaquarium.

There is a deep sea fishing charter and a dive facility that runs offshore dive trips.
