Reviews for Costa Baja Resort and Marina
Best hurricane protection in La Paz, 2016-10-20
Captain: , Annapolis, MD (24)

Marina Costa Baja is a first class operation. The inner harbor slips provide the best hurricane protection in the area and the extra long fuel dock provides one of the easiest ins and outs we've ever experienced. There are restaurants and a store on site, but the real downside is that this marina is quite a ways out of town. Without a car, one is totally dependent upon their courtesy shuttle or an expensive taxi.

Costa Baja is right at the entrance to Lapaz so it makes it nice if you plan to use it as a base of operations while cruising the local area. We were here in June and the Corumels were blowing pretty good so we would do two nights at anchorage then come in for a break from the rolly nights for a day or two. What better place to hang out. Very nice 5 star facility and no sign of the cash flow problems you see at many mexican resorts due tot he tourist situation. Easy in and out. Easy check in. We just radio''d when we came in and out and they kept track of the days. Of course the Marina was wide open in the off season. My only complaint was the store closed in the little mall and getting ice and beer was a bit of a cab ride , but who doesnt want to go to LAPAZ, we stayed off and on for a couple weeks. Also excellent and reasonable boat washes. and had some marginal canvas work done, but it was the right price.

One of the best marinas and staff in La Paz, Mexico. You will not be unhappy staying long or short term.

Costa Baja Marina Resort, 2012-11-24
Captain: , Oyster Bay, NY (71)

Best place to be in La Paz, even though it's out of town. Marina, resort, restaurant facilities are first class, 5 star! Amazing Golf Course.
Staff is helpful, and knowledgeable. Yacht Maintenance is also frist rate. Rates are reasonabale for the Facilities offered and often negotiable. Fuel Dock on site with substantial discounts if you are mooring at the Marina.

Excellent stopover, 2012-09-12
Captain: , Henderson, NV (41)

Stayed here for three months Nov 2011-March 2012. Great service and attentive staff. We were in the rear portion of the Marina which is well protected. We like Cafe Azul, the crew lounge (for WiFi) and the clean water. Services within the marina area include Laundry, small store, small marine supply store and Medical office with an English speaking Doctor. Free shuttle into town is convenient and friendly. Nice restaurant at the golf club on the hill overlooking the whole marina area. This is also a Moorings base. People here were very friendly. Great beach club for breakfest or lunch. Many boats stay in the water here over the summer months.

Good shelter, but a little surge in a Norther, 2011-07-25
Captain: , PooleUK (933)

The marina is fairly new and VERY well appointed, good floating pontoons, stable shorepower and Internet connections, astonishingly attentive staff, great dining and bar facilites, courtesy bus into La Paz, which is safe and friendly.
The only downside during our stay was the smut from the PEMEX tankers delivering to the refinery nearby. The marina assisted us in dealing with this.

Very nice facility, but far from town, 2011-04-30
Captain: , Newport, RI (10275)

We didn't stay here, but stopped for dinner at Azul (which was excellent). The facility is top notch and well protected, but you're a long way from town. Most of the boats that we saw appeared to be storage boats, so the owner's don't care that they're far out of town. Very good restaurants, beautiful grounds and pool. If you're looking for a nice compromise between La Paz Marina and Costa Baja, check out Marina Palmira.

Beautiful Facilty, 2010-06-26
Captain: , annapolis (183)

Very nice facility. Clean. Well maintained. Great amenities. Easy approach. The harbormaser's office can be quite a walk, depending on where you are docked. Dinghy may be faster. The attached resort is extremely expensive, but offers very nice rooms, restaurants, pools, and other facilities. Shuttles and cabs are available to downtown, where prices are lower.

Costa Baja, 2009-07-01
Captain: , Ventura (60)

Newer, well maintained facility. Local restaurants pricey, a good ways from Centro. Frequent surge in outer marina.

Great Marina bad Club , 2008-12-03
Captain: , San Pedro, CA (290)

The marina is outstanding, but the beach club that is part of it is EXTREMELY overpriced. they have two price lists - one for spanish speaking people and one for "Gringos"
