Reviews for Corpus Christi Municipal Marina
Nice marina but the nickel and dime you, 2017-05-28
Captain: , United States (3192)

The docks are in excellent conditon and the marina facilities are well maintained. The marina seems to have a lot of staff (except on weekends... municipal marinas don't seem to grok that weekends are the busy time).

That said, it's overpriced for what it is, and they are intent on collecting every last nickel. For starters, AC said there was a 25% discount for BoatUS members on transient dockage, but when I asked about discounts on check-in I was told none was available (I have since updated AC).

In order to get on and off the docks or to use the restrooms, a RFID key fob is needed. There is a $20 deposit per fob, cash only. Really? When you have my credit card? Getting our $40 back (for two fobs) on a Saturday morning involved a half hour wait while the lone employee finished fueling a boat.

At some point during our stay the marina came out with a tape measure and decided that we need to be charged more for the amount our anchor suck out beyon our bow.

Beyond all of that, the person who took our reservation failed to record it, even though they assigned us a specific slip. So we were confronted by security as we were tying up. And it's a loooooong walk to the office if you are on any dock not attached to the Lawrence Street T-Head.

All that said, it's right downtown and a wondeful way to see Corpus. Harrison's Landing restaurant right on the Peoples Street T-Head was quite good and very convenient.

The ferry mentioned in a previous comment no longer exists, having been discontinued in 2015. So to get to North Beach where the Aquarium and USS Lexington are located you will need to get a cab or take the city bus; route 76 is the downtown "trolley" route.

Best breakfast option is at the Omni hotel a few blocks away, and their rooftop restaurant (pricey) commands great views of the bay, the marina, and the city. Groceries are at HEB about 3 miles west of the docks.

Good long term lease marina, 2017-03-27

The new docks that opened in May 2016 are nice. Some of the wooden docks need repaired as they are splintering. The bathrooms and laundry on the L-head are still outdated, but functional. The bathrooms on the Lawrence T-head are really nice.

Great Marina, 2015-07-25
Captain: , Kemah, TX (234)

The floating single finger hard wood docks are nice and the staff and residents are great. The bathrooms are clean and well maintained and all in all a good experience. Parking is an issue on the weekends. Groceries are not close by, but many places to eat nearby. Uber is the way to get to the grocery store if you do not have a car and recomend Walmart on Staples St. Recomend the Science and History Muesem as one of the nicest in Texas. Good depths in the marina. If you like the nightlife, G or H dock low numbers are the place to be. New docks coming in fall 2015.

Enjoyed downtown Corpus Christi from the comfort of our own cockpit, 2015-06-09
Captain: , Kemah, Texas (31)

We spent a week on the 'H' transient pier. The pier is new and robust, and the access gate is extremely stout and secure. The only downside was the 15 minute walk to the marina office, which is on the center T-head, but we only needed to go there to initially check in and finally depart. Staff were friendly and the manned shower/toilet/laundry facilities just outside the pier gate was accessed with the same key fob that opend the pier gate. Our slip was towards the head of the pier, and we enjoyed watching the activities of downtown Corpus Christi, while feeling ultra-secure and safe in our own cockpit. We took the ferry over to see USS LEXINGTON which was fantastic, and the Art Museum of South Texas was just 15 minutes on foot. Uber drivers were plentiful for getting to/from the grocery store.

Great Stop (Gypsy Soul), 2014-07-26
Captain: , Corpus Christi (221)

A very nice marina within walking distance of many fine restaurants and night night a very beautiful night time "Shoreline"......nice bathrooms and even a sailors lounge. Easy to dock for fuel. Very safe place for you and your boat....24/7 on the ground security and docks are gated.

Great Stop, 2014-07-02
Captain: , Houston TX (112)

We stayed here for a couple of days in June; this is by far one of the nicest Marinas on the Texas coast. The location is great, right downtown with access to dinning and shopping. A $3 round trip ferry ride will take you the USS Lexington, Beaches and the Texas State Aquarium.

The facilities were outstanding, with private baths, with shower, toilet and sinks. There are a couple of restaurants and a bar on the marina site.

Nice City Marina, 2012-12-06
Captain: , Tropical Tip of Texas (145)

Good slips, very pretty waterfront. Plenty of restaurants in easy walking distance.

Great Marina, 2012-02-11
Captain: , Corpus Christi, TX (21)

Rates are low and facilities are top knotch. Lots of floating piers and there are about 10 restaurants within walking distance. Convenience store on Cooper Street Pier. Marina staff is on duty 24/7. Closest grocery store is 5 miles away.

Corpus Christi Marina, 2011-11-18
Captain: , Eagle Harbor, WA (471)

We have been at CC Marina for over 3 yrs. on H Dock. Staff, facilities, and services are good to excellant. E,F,G,H docks are the newest and are excellant floating docks. There are plans to renovate the rest of the marina. It is City owned and so the service is beaucratic. The City owned haul out facility & small yard is limited by the 15 ton Travel Lift. We recently had a bottom job and repairs to our rudder. The rates were the best in the area and the work was excellant.

Location convenient to bayfront events, 2011-10-26
Captain: , Port Aransas, TX (1453)

This marina is a short cruise from our home base, so we spent 1 night to attend the Texas Jazz Festival. The location is convenient to any event in the bayfront area. Our Saturday noon arrival was challenging due to strong wind, a tight fit in our assigned slip, and no help to tie up. There appeared to be only 1 person on duty all weekend. Facility is very nice; secure piers; grassy areas to walk a dog; modern, clean showers and rest rooms; free WiFi worked well. New fuel dock should be open in early November.

My Home Marina, 2010-01-19
Captain: , Corpus Christi (35)

This is where my sailboat is docked.
Pros: 99% of slips are protected with keyed entrance, 90% of the docks are floating, bath facilities are second to none, two restaurants on site (Landrys and Joe's Crab Shack), downtown bayfront location within walking distance of many restaurants and bars, well kept.
Cons: Currently the fuel dock is closed. Fuel demand low since most tenants are sail boaters, no pool, off the beaten path for transients.

Nice marina, 2009-10-26
Captain: , Belton, TX (94)

Spent 3 or 4 nights there on a couple of trips. The area we were in had very nice facilities, with especially nice shower facilities. Close enough to walk to quite a few nice restaurants.

No fuel here, 2009-09-25
Captain: , Nassau Bay (185)

9/19/09 The fuel dock is gone. According to the marina office, the closest fuel is in Port Aransas, approx. 20 miles away.

CC marina, 2009-06-04
Captain: , Corpus Christi Tx (10)

Been here almost a year. Some new docks are nice, older docks not so nice.
Had a stray current situation that sunk my boat so check your shore power hookup.
You can not work on your own boat here on the hard.
No marina store. No pool unless your a member of the yacht club... no way there.
Lots of slips available and now liveaboards are ok.
You will pay 5 bucks to pump out. Slip fees very reasonable compared to other places in country.
Very friendly people and staff, but competency of staff only ok.

Exellent Liveaboard Marina, 2009-03-17
Captain: , Captiva (173)

We have lived aboard here for three months. The marina is beautiful. Security is excellent with 24/7 patrols in boats and trucks. In a few minutes, you can be sailing on Corpus Christi Bay and there is ALWAYS wind. The bus system is very convenient and cheap. A trolley picks you up at the marina and brings you to a station where you can transfer to a bus which will take you almost anywhere in town. If you are 60 or over, it costs you 10 cents to ride, including transfers. The downtown area is across the street but only has restaurants, bars, and banks. Marina workers will come to you with a portable pumpout for $5. All in all, this is an excellent marina for liveaboards.

Great location, nice showers, 2007-02-24
Captain: , Houston, TX (1409)

This marina is right in downtown, lots of restaurants and bars within walking distance. Probably the nicest restrooms / showers I've yet seen in a marina (requires key to use). Public transportation (bus) available in walking distance to see other sites in town. Well kept marina.

Worth the trip, 2007-02-02
Captain: , Corpus Christi,Tx (1569)

This marina is in the downtown area of Corpus Christi. It is in the middle of a major upgrade. Due to its location, many things to do
