Reviews for Corn Hill Landing
Not a Marina, but a decent place to overnight., 2015-06-15
Captain: , Lake Norman, NC (191)

The published number for the marina is the leasing office for apartments. The lady I talked to said that the first 24 hours were free, but that I should come to her office to register, even though there were not restrooms or shower facilities. It was 4:00 on a Friday, and she had two appointments, please wait a while. By 5:00, the answering machine said to call back Monday, they would love to rent me an apartment. There is no dock master, ice, fuel, or any other services. But we did have 30A electric hookup. There were no other boats, not even the tour boat on Friday 6/12/15. Depth was not a problem beside the south most power pedestal. (6+%u2019).
View the High Falls from the Pont de Rennes pedestrian bridge, about a mile walk from Corn Hill. At the other end of that bridge is the Genesee Brewery Tap room, that offers up to two sample %u201Cflights%u201D of their beers for $2 for (4) 5 oz. samples. There is a restaurant, and a small museum & gift shop there.

No access from Lake Ontario, 2014-08-09

The previous review identifing 12 ft in channel maybe correct but not coming in from Lake Ontario. We attempted to travel to this location and stopped when we hit 4 feet of depth. From the lake after the 3rd bridge comes a bend in the river that goes from 7-8 to 4 ft then from what I see on charts rapids shortly after Seth Green island. I should have looked more closely to the charts prior to choosing to access this dockage.

We were totally surprised to find this site as good as it is since we had some negative written information. There are electrical pedestals, the water wasn't turned on. The wall is clean and not used much apparently. Restaurants very near, small market available, very friendly people. The wall is part of a bike path that is used heavily by walkers and bikers. It is managed by Corn Hill Landing It's a good stop but isn't free ($1.00/ft). There are no signs to tell you that. The office is located on Exchange Street across from Nathaniel's pub. The phone # we have is 585-325-7116. They say they have restrooms but don't expect marina service. There isn't any. Still think it was a good stop. Entrance to river is being dredged, lots of debris along river banks, but channel is well marked. High Falls in town are worth the visit.

Great spot right in the middle of the city, 2012-07-26
Captain: , Grand Island, NY (651)

We missed 2012, but have visited for 3 years previous. Water is shallow south of the tour boat, good depth right in front of the tour boat and behind it. Enterprise rental a short distance, don't miss Dinosaur BBQ just on the other side of the river. Museums within walking distance, other attractions a short cab ride away. They were not charging to stay here in 2011.

Wall with power in the "gentrified" Corn Hill Area, 2011-07-28
Captain: , Gulf Breeze, Fl (6909)

Great location to see the what Rochester has to offer. The High Falls are worth the walk the "Dinosaur BBQ" a short walk across the river at the south side of the court st. Bridge is a must... . Best Brisket I've ever had and the pulled pork and ribs were good as well. Couldn't come near to finishing the plate so go box was necessary(and I'm a heavy eater!). $12 cab ride (for 2) to the Eastman House is worthwhile and the interior of the Monroe County Bldg atrium is a shocker with incredlble marble work as well as the Rochester City Atrium. Very intersting downtown historical bldgs. The restaurant area of the wall is busy as in any City with walkers and diners, and bicycles but is very quiet at night. Free pump out infront of the restaurant outside dining patio!. Joey D's was great. Lot's of fine old mansions in teh Eastman Home area but rental car is the best way to view. Enterprise quoted $25 per day over the weekend. parking at Corn Hill Land is limited to "pay" on street ($1.50 per hour 0800 to 1800hrs Monday thru Friday otherwise free after hours and weekends and holidays. So rent over the weekend when cheapest and the parking on the st. along the Corn Hill.

Stayed a week, 2010-08-05
Captain: , Marathon FL Keys (189)

We stayed a week. Its close to downtown Rochester and there are many attractions in the area for this small city. The marina is part of an upscale redeveloped area that now includes several good restaraunts mixed in with waterfront apartments. Hence its an active area. Nice view of the Rochester skyline. Not terribly noisy despite interstate traffic on the nearby suspension bridge. The waterfall and hydro plant are nearby and worth a visit.

We just cruised up the Genesee River from the Erie Canal and had 12 to 14 foot depth in the well marked channel. Our purpose was to drop off guests to catch an Amtrak train west. The depth at the terminal wall north of the tour boat was 5.5 feet. Can not comment on services available.
