Reviews for Corinthian Yacht Club
Wonderful stop, wonderful folks, charming place, 2017-06-05
Captain: , Norfolk, VA (470)

(Early May 2017) A private yacht club available to reciprocal club members on a space available basis. We arrived soon before their season to open, but they made us very welcome and made their entire facility available to us. Due to weather, we stayed for three nights rather than two. They were most accommodating and helpful. Our host, Brian, met us on arrival and help tie us up. He even changed our dock assignment to easy our stay from a three day steady strong west wind. We took that very kindly. Julie very kindly showed us their beautiful club house and other facilities. They take well desired pride in their club. Another member came by on our second day for a welcoming chat and then drove us into town to stock up on a few groceries. Clearly, we found old world charm in this rural Maryland setting. We will look forward to a future visit with our new friends.

Friendly CLUB great get-a-way spot, 2016-06-24
Captain: , Gulf Breeze, Fl (6909)

This club defines a comfortable downhome yacht club where you are made to feel welcome and just feel at home.. They have everything except close shopping which is indicative on how rural and relaxing this club is. Lot's of history as the club in 110 years old but the faciilities are all functional. I will be back! We stayed over a week and held our owners group meeting here June 1- 11th 2016 and had a great time. This is a jewel of a club.

7-15-13 Well back already and if anything it is better than my prior post. Members offer to drive you to stores or help you with what ever you may need. Attending an iformal looper gathering and all were made to feel warmly welcomed.

A Place to Relax, 2015-08-15
Captain: , Woodbridge, VA (60)

Lovely marina with friendly people. A very quite place with a nice pool and facilities.

A great alternative!, 2015-07-25
Captain: , Arizona (216)

The yacht club had everything you could want for a pleasant stay. There was a pool, clubhouse, laundry, showers, beautiful grounds, and the people couldn't be more helpful. And the price is great!

Jewel of the Potomac, 2014-08-11
Captain: , Charlotte Harbor, FL (1588)

That's what they call this place and we concur. We chose it based on its location in mid Bay, the mouth of the Potomac and it's pricing. We were able to get a covered slip and that was one of the few places on the Chesapeake where we could find such an amenity. Good to be out of the sun and weather sometimes!
Corinthian has nice grounds, about 20 acres. It has a nice pool with shelter. there are some guest rooms, a nice bathhouse, huge clubhouse with lounge areas and nice kitchen, and laundry.
Very historical at 110 years old and a very friendly group of boaters here.
Call ahead for space and directions as there is not a full time staff. dock master here in the evenings during the boating season.
Busy on weekends, slow during the week and quiet. Friendly, down to earth members!

Overnight Stay, 2014-06-14
Captain: , Aventura, Florida (330)

We stayed over night on a trip out of Potomac river to Annapolis. We pulled in in a down pour. We were put on 1 dock but moved to another bbecause of logistics. The Yacht Club was deserted the views were nice. Not a bad place for an overnight stay at all.

Great spot, 2014-01-13
Captain: , Occoquan, VA (354)

Had the chance to stay here twice last season. Great location, people and facilities. Hope they continue allowing transients to visit.

Great Stop near the mouth of the Potomac, 2013-10-04
Captain: , Annapolis Md (280)

We pulled in late in the afternoon and were greated by the club treasurer. He helped tie us up. This was a Thurs. evening so there were not a lot of members around. We used the grill and the showere. Both were top notch. This is a very nice facility and would make a great stop for a club cruise.

Nice docking on outside wall of covered slips, 2013-09-16
Captain: , Portsmouth, VA (430)

Met by a boat owner who assisted in docking, all needed services available, friendly boat owners and club members, made to feel very welcome. Will return to this quiet nice place.

Very nice and welcoming place, 2013-09-08
Captain: , Seaford, VA (1049)

Our three boats stopped here on our way down the Bay, tying up on the T-head pier on the western side of the marina. No deckhands available to handle lines, but the nice wide slips made for easy dockage. Their 110th anniversary slip fee of $25 (+$5 for electric) was hard to beat. We enjoyed the pool, clubhouse and the well kept grounds. Ice is available for $1/bag on the honor system. The few club members we did meet were all very friendly. We were invited to watch the first NFL game of the season with them!
We will be sure to make this a regular stop the next time we head thus way.

Great yacht club for power or sail, 2013-07-25
Captain: , Apollo Beach, FL (928)

We were trying to find a place to anchor nearby and a man in a small sailboat said the yacht club had an anniversary special rate of $25/night. There was supposed to be strong north winds that night so we took him up on it. This is a fantastic facility with covered slips and a newly refurbished face dock that can take sailboats. We were greeted by several people and shown around. We took the opportunity to do some laundry and sat in their dining area and visited with some of the members. Topped off the water tank instead of having to use it up cleaning mud off the chain and anchor.

Best Stop on the Potomac, 2013-07-23
Captain: , Colonial Beach, VA (650)

Our boat club, with 8 boats made reservations. We were welcomed with email info before hand, personal help tying up and provided access to the club house facilities by the Commodore herself. We could not have been treated better and we received a special low anniversary year rate for each boat. No one wanted to leave even though we had an 8 day trip planned.

Perfect Secret, 2013-07-20
Captain: , Cape Canaveral (1191)

The staff are very friendly, helpful, and made us feel at home. The clean, well maintained facilities harken back a few decades that create a charm all its own. We draw 4' and had no problems, though get instructions before approaching to assure no confusion with stakes marking oyster beds. We really liked it here and will be back.

Peaceful place, 2013-07-20
Captain: , Jacksonville Fl (1550)

Attended a "looper gathering" here this week, couldn't be better. Wife had to tend some business in DC and they graciously allowed us to extend our visit. Enterprise will pick you up for rental car, lots of history and sightseeing in the area. The members strive to make you feel at home and the facilities are all clean and functional. Look forward to returning in the future.

WHAT A FIND!!!!, 2013-07-19
Captain: , East Falmouth, MA (1643)

We would have never known about this place were it not for a fellow Looper who arranged for a Looper get together. Clean rest rooms, nice pool, covered slips, very nice air conditioned lounge, and friendly people. The only downside is the distance from stores and that could be a plus if you are well stocked. We will definitely be back.

Feels Like Home, 2013-07-17
Captain: , Stuart FL (835)

July 17, 2013
Corinthian Yacht Club is a lovely setting that beckons you to stay. The waterway is lined with trees and the country setting is great for taking long walks on quiet roads.
The club has a pool, large kitchen with ice maker, and clean facilities. Reasonable rates-most slips covered-and transients welcomed!

Classy Place, 2013-07-12
Captain: , Washington, DC (149)

We tied up to pilings on a t-head beyond the covered docks. Excellent fixed docks, no cleats. Easy 50 amp connection and good water. The pool and grounds are beautiful. Jim Test, the current measurer, was very friendly and helpful. You need to call him on his cell phone to make arrangements for reciprocity priveleges.

Great place to tie up for a night or two, 2013-06-26
Captain: , Prince William Marina, Woodbridge (100)

We discovered this through AC, everyone we met is super friendly. Not many people around durring the week, but everyone says "enjoy yourself" and use the pool etc. located on a very quiet creek, very calm waters......just a great place to lay-over

Corinthian Yacht Club, 2013-06-21
Captain: , annapolis (391)

Ditto previous comments. Stayed 6-21-13. Isolated; walk 1 1/2 mi. to restaurants. On return walk, picked up by local resident in truck after first 2 blocks. Scenic, restful, friendly members anxious to help with grocery shopping, other transportation if necessary. If we lived in this area, would consider joining CYC just for friendly members.

Great place, 2013-05-30
Captain: , Essex, CT (37)

Spent 2 nights for a total of $60, including electric! Had the place to ourselves. There is no staff here to help tie up but over the phone we were directed to a nice shady spot at the end of covered docks. We could have had a covered slip if we wanted it. The grounds are beautiful and a nice swimming pool. Several clean heads. Bike ride to groceries and liquor store. The creek is magnificent for anchoring as well. Great place to dingy around.

Great Looper special, 2013-05-11
Captain: , Athens, AL (641)

What a wonderful retreat from the hustle and bustle of most marinas. Chuck gave us a choice of covered or outside docks with the 2-night Looper special of $25/night plus electricity. Would definitely consider joining this club if interested in living in this area. Prices are very reasonable and location is good mid point of the Chesapeake.

Beautiful and very friendly, 2012-09-05
Captain: , Venice, Fl. (949)

We stopped in Friday for the annual Luau taking place Saturday. The grounds are lovely and very well kept. Bathrooms are very clean. Chuck is the measurer and delayed his trip to town to show us around the facilities. Everone we've met so far has treated us like family. I would recommend this stop to everyone passing by.

Corinthian Yacht Club, 2011-10-09
Captain: , New Rochelle, NY (1000)

We visited in late September and no one was around. Very nice grounds and Rear Commodore Paula arranged for us to stay on the T-Dock for the night. I can't wait to come back in season and meet some to the members.

Friendly spot for relaxation, 2009-08-18
Captain: , Stafford, VA (1079)

Caveat: You have to be a member of another yacht club to stay here. However, if you can meet that requirement, you won't find a friendlier place to stay. The facilities are very nice, the grounds are spacious, and the people go out of their way to make you feel welcome. This is a very sheltered location to be at in a storm also.
