Reviews for Coral Bay Marina
Work done at super short notice., 2015-12-29
Captain: , Bermuda (219)

Small, old school Keys boatyard with a knowlegeable staff and extremely reasonable prices.
We were anchored round the corner and called on spec due to genny issues. Sue the dockmaster appears to run a tight ship and had us on the t head as soon as space was available. One hour later, Dan the mechanic had us up and running., and we were on our way. Pricing was excellent.
A few friendly liveaboards on site, space is tight, but well worth a call if you need work doing by experienced crew. Thanks guys.

Small marina but great protection, 2015-03-02
Captain: , Fernandina, FL (448)

Sue was most helpful getting in from ICW. Short finger piers and narrow fairways but good spot in Islamorada. Walk to groceries at the Trading Post and many restaurants. Pumpout $15 at haulout slip.

Great Location, 2014-07-26

Large Marina with good facilities and great mechanic, Danny. Our family has used Coral Bay for many years. Also a short walk to great shopping. The Trading Post is a fanatastic, family run mini- supermarket that is open 24 hrs/365 days/year. Very short walk from the Coral Bay docks

We tried to call them several times with no response and then finally listen to the recording that says open monday through Friday. I wanted to stay with them, but I guess they didnt need the business.

Nice Working Boatyard Marina, 2013-12-28
Captain: , Deerfield Beach, Florida (150)

We called the office and talked to Sue who was very helpful and she advised a 150 degree heading from the ICW. She had us call when we got to the mooring field for further instruction. There are PVC pipes marking the entrance to a small canal behind the mangrove barrier island. Call the office for the best appraoch. A thirty something footer sportfish was kicking up some mud when leaving the mooring field but there are many bigger vessels at the marina. A current runs in the narrow canal behind the mangrove barrier isle so use caution. The marina is the first left and is mostly liveaboards and long term with a few transient slips. Good amenities nearby. The bathroom is clean and not too far of a walk. The laundry looks ok although we did't use it. There is a travel lift and gravel working yard just behind the rustic fixed wood docks. A mechanic is on premises. Wi-Fi was strong. The electrical outlets were mostly used up and in variable condition. Ask if you need 30A instead of 50A. Sue and the owner are very nice people. Laid back Keys style. A rack and stack sales marina is nearby further South as is the Word Wide Sportsman store.

Saved the Boat, 2013-12-12
Captain: , Fort Lauderdale (61)

I had a failure in a through-hull fitting while at Founder's Park. The boat took on a lot of water but was salvaged and brought to Coral Bay and hauled. They have been great to work with in getting the boat back in shape. Their pricing was fair and they were very accomodating. Kudos to Dan, the mechanic at the yard who saved our engines.

Small but friendly and nice, 2013-11-15
Captain: , Miami (100)

This is more of a boatyard, liveaboard place than your typical marina. With that said Sue is great, very helpful and they can do repairs, haul outs etc. The prices are typical for the area. It's walking distance to shops, stores and great restaurants. Pretty safe. Be careful on the approach. It is safer to zig zag between sailboats as you approach the entrance. Don't go around them towards the South side. You may find yourself in very swallow waters.

Go there if you can!, 2013-03-09
Captain: , Wilmington, DE (780)

Had a genset problem, contacted these folks late on a Friday and they had someone there on Sat. Couldnt get the part in until Tues, so we stayed a few days. Nice relaxing and typically rustic Keys spot, incredbly accomodating staff, an interesting bunch of live aboard characters and good stores and restaurants in walking distance. It's like going back in time and finding yourself in an old black and white movie - what a fantastic experience!! Buddy, Sue and Dan are extremely nice & very professional. Can't say enough good things about the place and the people.

small, but nice, 2013-02-21
Captain: , NORTH EAST, MD (125)

Very friendly place (is there an unfriendly place in the Keys?) that is clean and close to everything you might need. It's a short dinghy ride over to the Lorelei tiki bar and you can hear the music at night (good or bad, you decide). Very reasonable slippage (lowest on our whole trip) fee. Current in the entrance canal can be strong, so be aware of it.

Top Notch Service & Repairs, 2012-05-19
Captain: , Wickford RI (200)

We dropped our boat here to be hauled and some work done on the running gear while we were away for 3 weeks. They did a great job at that and because we were there anyway, decided to have them service the cooling system on our 2 6/71 diesels. Danny, their mechanic did an excellent job, and basically went through both engines, making suggestions on what needed doing and what could be delayed on this new (to us) vessel. The communication was excellent with emails and pictures, sometimes 3 times a day. Buddy and Sue were very helpful, both during the work and continued to help and advise us for sometime after the bills were paid. This is a great place to get routine maintenence or a major project done. I would recommend them highly.

Great Location, but small, 2012-03-31
Captain: , Austin, Texas (1774)

We enjoyed our 4 nights here, but the marina has very few transient spots. If you are lucky to get one, there is a full service yard if you need repairs. A very nice deli is a minute away, but do not expect Publix type prices. You pay for the convienence. The staff is helpful with anything you need. However, the docks are needing some repair, and there is only one bathroom/shower for the entire marina to share. If they would upgrade their docks and bathrooms, this would rate a much higher score.

Small working marina, nice owners and staff, 2012-02-17
Captain: , Wanakena, NY (759)

Stayed for 2 days to avoid weather. Not fancy but welcoming staff and locals.
Watch the approach if the tide and wind push you into the basin.
A well supplied grocer in 1 block and other interesting business and restaurants. Ace hardware about 1 mile.
We liked it here.

Best boatyard experience we have ever had ..., 2012-02-16
Captain: , Hampton, VA (20)

Recently had our bottom painted, cutless bearings replaced and some other misc repairs completed at Coral Bay. Buddy and Sue run a very professional operation. We received a detail itemized estimate followed up with regular emails updates (incl. pictures) describing the job's progress, problems encountered, etc. All work was completed competently within estimated amounts and timeframes. Cost was reasonable relative to quality of work. If your boat is in need of a boatyard visit, I highly recommend you consider the fine folks at Coral Bay Marina.

Great little marina. Weekly rate is $1/ft, including 50 amp electric. Two shower/bathroom units which are small but clean. Very freindly and helpful staff. Slips are a bit tight but totally protected in all wind directions and strengths. Grocery, restaurants, and Worldwide Sportsman in walking distance. Short dinghy ride or walk to the Lorelei to celebrate sunsets.

Family owned and run, superb location and great people. Could not ask for nicer management. May offer to summon the fuel truck for you if you are a customer. Protected from weather, short dinghy ride to terrific bars and restaurants. Spent much time at Coral Bay, loved every minute.

Coral Bay Marina, 2007-07-17
Captain: , Naples, FL (57)

This is a working boatyard with transient slips, but has the most accessable dockage in Islamorada. Approach thru the PVC stake channel from the bay. Depth can be a scant 4 ft. till you get in the creek, then ample water. Slips/face dock have full power and water. No fuel , but pumpout next to travel lift. Simple, clean restrooms/showers. My rating due to location, 1/2 mi from World Wide Sportsman, several very good restaurants, library w/ WIFI, and grocery store one block down "hidden path". Dockage 7/07 $1.50/ft incl elec.. Office closed weekends.
