Reviews for Cooper Boating Centre
Top Bareboat Location, 2007-02-14

There are only a few charter locations in the world that send me a catalog that includes pictures of all their boats, but the catalog from Coopers looks like a beauty contest delivered to my door. Page after page of very fine pics almost makes you forget about the real fashion star ... the shoreline of Vancouver.

Cooper Boating is just a first class charter company. The boats are loved by the staff, and it just shows as both spotless decks and flawless function of all systems within the boat. Just like Club Nautique in San Francisco, both of the companies manage to deliver a product that isn't only flawless on delivery, but gets you thru the entire charter without any major, or even minor breakdowns. These craft are well cared for, and appearently go through a rigerious maintenance schedule vs. other companies that only seem to to maintenance when things break.

I am not normally a big Hunter fan, but there's nothing like doing a day sail with corporate guests in the cockput of a Hunter 38, and Coopers has a pair of these craft in mint condition, as well as numerous craft in various size ranges to fit any need.

Why does great maintenance matter ... Overnight sails out of Vancouver are gruely. Unlike the BVI, you need to put many hours under the keel to get to most destinations, even if your not heading for Desolation Sound, and the Georgia Straights can present many challanges, and any breakdown is going to put a real crimp in your plans.

In short, this is the place to go for a boat that will get you there and back, and Vancouver is the place to be to enjoy the great outdoors.
