If new to the area, use the channel 2 hours either side of HW.

Approach: 0.5
Transient dockage: 2
Fuel dock: 2

Other depth info: The marina gate opens when height above CD exceeds 3.5m (approx 3h 30m either side of HW). The depth in the marina should be maintained at 2m at LW.

Although silting has been a significant issue in the past, a major dredging operation has been completed over winter 2013/14, increasing the depth in most areas of the marina, but it is still advised to keep close to the marina hammerheads (i.e. keep to Port) on entering.

The waiting pontoons outside the marina are still very silted, and some berths dry, so check depth carefully - the deeper areas are to the North (i.e. closer to the marina entrance).

The facilities here are brand new and very good, a small shop with supplies has recently opened which means that basic provisions are available on site. The marina staff are friendly and the Mulberry bar and restaurant on site serves very good food, (this has significantly improved over the last 2-3 years) The 10-15 minute walk into Conwy town is very pleasant along the river edge, and Conwy itself is definitely worth a visit - it's rare because it's a completely walled town with the wall still intact. Britain's smallest house is on the quay, there are good pubs and restaurants throughout town and you can walk around the Castle. Check out the Conwy River Festival (, which happens over a week in August each year - as well as a complete programme of sailing events, there is a nightime lantern parade and live music and events on the town quay and on the river.

Conwy Marina has had major problems in the past with silting up to the end of 2012. However, since investing in their own dredger and instituting an annual dredging plan, the marina is now fully dredged, including the marina entrance channel and holding pontoon in the river. So good work, Conwy is now a 5* marina in all respects. Upped my rating.

This is fabulous marina with all the facilities you need, and only a ten minute walk into Conwy town. It is reasonably well sheltered from most wind directions, and as long as you treat the tides and currents with great respect this makes an excellent base for exploring the beautiful coast around Anglesey and North Wales.

Nice marina, but silting up a bit. Pontoons are packed in quite tight, and on a large boat with a bit of wind, getting in and out can be hair raising ( as I found out).
The town is a pleasent 10 minute walk from the marina, and has plenty of attractions. Is very busy in the summer
