Reviews for Constitution Dock
Difficult and inconvenient access. Hazardous entrance (bridge)., 2012-03-14
Captain: , Hobart, Australia (203)

While Con Dock has a long history as a place for long term mooring of cruising boats it has its drawbacks.

In order to enter or leave, contact has to be made with TasPorts who will send out a security officer to open the bridge. When open, the bridge leaves a fairly narrow opening for masts. More than one boat has had their mast hit the bridge. Because the area is open to the public 24X7 one has to sometimes reckon with intoxicated party animals from one of the nearby pubs.

Kings Pier marina (across the road) offers better access and security (if a spot can be found).

Constitution Dock Hobart, 2012-02-19

Lovely olde worlde hobour city, surounded with heritage buildings. Great restaurants catering for all budgets. Hobart is the capitol city of Tasmania, the most southern state of Australia. Hobart hosts the 'wooden boat festival' every second year. If you want to see square riggers Constitution Dock is the place to visit.
