Reviews for Consolidated Yachts Inc.
Really great service!, 2015-09-22
Captain: , Annapolis (10)

On the Friday of Labor Day weekend, we were aiming to catch the morning tide through NYC. Our port engine started to race off City Island and we pulled into Consolidated Yachts. Michael "Pip" Piparo came aboard around 7:30am and immediately diagnosed that the transmission was slipping due to a failed transmission oil cooler. He lined up a replacement part from Lenco Coolers, and installed it first thing Saturday morning, allowing us to catch the morning tide. He not only charged regular rates on Labor Day weekend, he called us on Tuesday to make sure we made it back to Annapolis!

No Complaints, 2012-06-18
Captain: , Rehoboth DE (41)

Hurricane Irene blew us off our mooring on the other side of the island and we were towed here from the beach. After reading the other reviews, I was concerned about over wintering and having the repairs done here, but after the fact I have no complaints.
The work was well done, on time, and for the amount estimated by the adjuster. I was prepared to haggle over Winter storage, but it was no more than I had paid in previous years in CT and MD. True, those yards had spiffier docks and reliable power heads and hose bibs, but Consolidated seem to be more a working yard for repairs and winter storage than a transient stop. There may be a lot of gear lying around, but the travel lifts and trailers seem well maintained and it looks like they are doing some fine finishing work in their shed.
Their hourly rates are not cheap, but I have yet to see a yard that was. They also prevent you from working on your own bottom, but this seem to be the practice for commercial yards on the island. I found the staff to be polite and helpful.
All in all, I was satisfied with the experience and would go back for repairs or Winter storage.

Nothing positive to say, can only echo the previous reviews. Avoid at all costs, and DO NOT let yourself be towed there, as there are some under-the-table deals with some local tow outfits to try and get a racked up vessel to this yard, and abandon all hope all ye who enter here!

Dirty, cluttered, and old stuff laying around everywhere tells the story. Dock are in poor condition, and not well protected. The restrooms are the absolute worst I have ever seen. The mangement is very aggressive and not very friendly.

Nothing good to say about the place... Unhelpful predatory overchargers who are not the least bit interested in boaters.. except their money. Lots of wake at their dock from traffic in the Sound. They were trying to sell it for condos... that says it all.
