Reviews for Columbia Island Marina
Great Facilities-Rude Employees, 2015-06-27
Captain: , Colombia Island Marina (20)

As the previous review stated, this marina has taken a turn for the worse. I have been here for 6 years and for the most part have enjoyed every part of the marina, the family atmosphere, the facilities are nice and clean, etc. But over the past year, myself and several other members have seen a decline in all aspects of customer service and simple kindness, especially the cafe/restaurant. Rude, obnoxious and unpleasant is becoming common when order food/drinks and boat supplies.
I will update my review if changes are made in the near future.

They've become officious lately., 2015-04-17
Captain: , Washington, DC (44)

I've dealt with Columbia Island Marina in varied forms for the last 10 years. I've purchased 2 boats from their docks in that time, and visited for varied reasons with friends and on my own boats. Some of my earliest dates with my wife, 20 years ago, were there. I have a soft spot for the place.

For some reason, of late (Spring 2015), they've become unpleasant to deal with. Their staff has gone from warm and friendly, to difficult and officious. Almost annoyed by your appearance at their office. 3 men sitting in an office, hoping that they don't have to actually help anyone out. No spirit of boating community. Feels as if there's a change of leadership, though I have no idea if that's the case, and it's brought everyone down. Very dissappointing. I'll update this review if things improve again at some point in the future.

Otherwise, yes, as others have said... watch your height coming in at high tide especially. Preferably go through the bridge w/ no oncoming traffic. Definitely avoid entering if you see a boat coming if conditions aren't very calm.

Nice Fuel Dock, watch the shallow water to the South, 2013-07-10
Captain: , Washington D.C. (231)

Great fuel dock, getting under the bridge with a large boat can be tricky on the weekends with boat traffic. Stay close to the docks as water can shoal quickly to the south. Great helpful staff.

Loved Keeping Boat Here Through Seasons of 2000-2005, 2011-07-12

Kathy was the Harbor Master, and they have a killer happy hour and outside deck, the showers were a bit dated, but new tile has gone up since then. The food is good too, but not gourmet. Ha.

nice marina, 2009-03-19
Captain: , silver spring Md. (20)

nice marina $5 launch fee trailers must be removed from vehicle to park. parking is provided by the park service ,and very strict. that is the only reason for the low rating
