Reviews for Coeymans Landing Marina
Our home port, 2016-09-05
Captain: , coeymans landing, ny (21)

We've kept Courgeous here for many years now and have always been happy. Every year they make improvements. There is a protective wall out on the river that dissapears during high tides so watch the charts when you come to visit. The great thing is that it protects the boats from wakes when it starts to peep out as the tide goes out and that makes sleeping aboard very nice. We get great diesel prices, free internet, free cable TV, pump outs, plus they have made a great porch area where you can sit and watch TV and hang out with other boaters. Yanni's Too is a great restaurant. The mechanics (Jim and Carl) are the best. Boats are brought here from up and down the river for winterization. I could go on and on but 'nough said.

Marine Service, 2016-08-08
Captain: , Manotick, Ontario (10)

Jim from the Marine Services is an outstanding mechanic. After spending a good part of the day troubleshooting the problem with my boat, he only charged me the "Real" time he spent on the problem (which I have to tell you was likely less than actual) He also was told by Mercury that I required a water pump, Jim took the pump off tested it and put the old one back on when he easily could have continued, put the new one on and charged me for it. If you are traveling the Hudson River and need a place to stay or repairs to your boat, I highly recomend Coeymans

Really good friendly marina, 2016-06-30
Captain: , Newcastle upon Tyne (463)

Left our boat here on the hard for the winter, winterised and shrink wrapped by the marina. Also some extra work done on the engine. Good work, reasonably priced. Nice restaurant next door.

great stop, 2015-10-13
Captain: , Dover (65)

restaurant is great. jim the Mx is even better- he was very busy but took the time to do extra work in my engine and look up specs for it. very reasonable rates. Hedy and Karl are also quick to help. highly recommend

VERY good staff, 2015-09-22
Captain: , Norwalk, CT (82)

Very knowledgeable and helpful in docking. Great ships store, nice set up for restrooms and showers. Yannis Too (the resturant) was VERY good and priced right. Would stay longer if we could. Good price on fuel as well.

Tow visits o month apart, 2015-09-19
Captain: , Meredith, NH (638)

We stopped here for two days when heading on the Triangle Loop and stopped again on our return. The people were exceedingly helpful and friendly. The restaurant was great. One of the owners ran us to the local malls. We filed up 400 gal on first visit & 500 gal on our return. Hope to visit on our Spyder next summers.

Great Stop on the Way to Lake Champlain, 2015-07-07
Captain: , Mashpee, MA (541)

Stayed here overnight, breakwater protects boats from rolling wakes on the river. Kim the store manager was very helpful and all personnel went out of their way to make our brief stay enjoyable.
Yanni's Too had good and varied menu and pleasant seating on the deck overlooking the river. Very clean showers. Coming in from the south keep between the markers and the shore. starboard

Great Marina, 2015-05-07
Captain: , Gregory, MI (60)

The owners Hedi and Karl are great at making their customers feel right at home. They have a full service marina with employees that take their work very serious. Kim the store manager is very knowledgeable in what she has availabe and the service department has just about anything you might need to fix your boat. When we called in for a slip Hedi said no problem and Karl gave great instructions on entering the channel, which has a submerged breakwater half of the day thanks to the Army Corp of Engineers. They were right at the dock helping us out.

Terrific marina and people , 2014-08-02
Captain: , Wilmington, DE (780)

Had our 42' Grand Banks hauled out here for bow thruster and prop repairs. Hedy and her staff were fantastic in scheduling the haul out and work, making transportation arrangements for us and even driving us to the local supermarket! Eric, Mike and their team were very professional and did a first class job on all the repairs. They sent pictures of the work and communicated frequently. No surprises and reasonable prices. You'd be hard pressed to find a better marina or people on the Hudson.

A first class establishment, 2014-07-15
Captain: , Rochester NY (310)

We stayed here both on our way down the Hudson and again on the way back. Hedy and Kim are super helpful as are the rest of the staff. I had a start battery added by Jim in the service department and he was done in 4 hours. He even had to build a platform for the battery in my bilge. The restaurant serves fresh seafood and is not to be missed. As for the breakwall, it's charted, know what you're doing. It does protect you from the wakes of passing boats.

Great support, 2014-06-25
Captain: , Alexandria Bay, NY (63)

After finding "something" on the Erie Canal, we needed a haulout and repair. A call to Eric just a few hours earlier, found us in the slings, repairs initiated and back in the water within 24 hours. The folks here could not have been more helpful. And with a great resturant right on site to help ease the pain too. A big thanks to the owners and crew of Coeymans Landing.

Good fuel prices, 2014-06-22
Captain: , New Braunfels (51)

The best deisel prices I could find in the area, We have a 48' trawler with a 5' draft and came to the fuel dock at about half tide and saw nothing less then 6.5' to the fuel dock. The dock hands were waiting with good attitudes and did a good job of getting us tied up.

Not helpful..., dangerous SUBMERGED JETTY, 2014-06-12
Captain: , Toronto (20)

If you go here, watch out for the SUBMERGED JETTY in front of the entire village! Many have scraped their bottom. People I've asked have said, "It happens all the time!" If you do run into a rock, they will gladly charge you $10/ft to lift and check for damage. They are NOT sympathetic. They blame it on the Coast Guard and say it's marked on the charts. There are only 4 white warning buoys over several hundred feet of frontage! They taunted us for being Canadians when we said the warning buoys were inadequate. "Canaaadian's gonna sue us... Get outta here Canadian! We're through talkin'!"

Nice owners, good boat shop, 2014-06-07
Captain: , catskill (290)

Not a bad place at all. However be warned there is a large group of drunk men who hang out here and own boats. They tend to hit on men visiting the marina. AKA ask out on dates, ask to come back to boat and party. If they got rid of this rif-raff, it would be a 5 star location.

We will come back, 2013-08-05
Captain: , Sorel-Tracy (50)

We stopped for a second time on our way back; the owners Hedy and Carl did exceed our expectations of what is good service at a marina. You cannot ask for better attitude and willingness the help.

On top of this %u201Cthe price is right%u201D.

Great little marina for overnight, 2013-06-26
Captain: , Mystic (909)

Staff cannot be friendlier or more helpful. Nice facilities. Nice resturant on the premisis, a very well stocked marine store. Docks are very stable. Be careful though, as the entrance from the NORTH is now blocked thanks to Irene.

Update 6-26-13 Still great, a delightul stay.

2013 and service is still their hallmark, 2013-05-20
Captain: , Seattle, Wa (91)

Just stopped by for a night on our way North and the service and amenities others have talked about is still going strong. As an example I hailed them from just outside their entry channel to let them know I was heading in. They acknowledged my call and before I knew it they had sent a dingy out to meet us and guide us in. Wow...what a surprise! Also we found the pricing very reasonable compared to what%u2019s around there. Resturant, Service, Marine Store, nice walking area, good prices and great service makes this a great place to stop.

Obey the marks!, 2012-08-17
Captain: , Powder Springs, GA (214)

Well protected, but be careful of the reef--obey the marks. The buoys are strange colors, so simply stay to the marina/dock side of them. Good professional people, but I suspect their fuel pump isn't accurate.

This Place is GREAT, 2012-08-13
Captain: , Barrington RI (127)

I don't like to write overly complemenary reviews. But if I could give this place 6 stars I would. These folks rescued our vacation when we struck some rocks up in the Champlain Canal. With almost no services in the canal, the sea tow captain on the Hudson (they don't cover the canals!) recommended I get to Coyemans Landing Marina by my own power if at all possible.

After an exhausting 11hr ride down the canals, Hedy, the wife and owner of 20 years saw me coming and hailed ME before I had a chance to radio in. 5 minutes later we were tied to their fuel dock with a promise to be hauled first thing in the AM.

They were true to their word about that and everthing else. Haul and block, run out of shafts, removal of mangled props that Carl, husband and owner personally drove to a prop shop 1.5hrs away. In the mean time they lent us a vehical so we could get shopping and laundry done. Mike, their long time mechanic even fixed a tachomenter issue I was having. We spent 2 nights on the hard, plugged in to power with access to their deck, TV's, Grills, Hot Tub and very good restaurant.

And two days later we were relaunched with perfect props. These folks could not have been more friendly, helpful or professional. And all this at a totally reasonable cost. My familly and I will always be greatful to them for rescuing our trip and making it all seem so easy. Thanks from Pandemonium!

Excellent service! , 2012-05-27
Captain: , Wilmington, NC (74)

The service at Coeymanns Landing Marina was truly excellent. We had ordered 12 engine batteries, and they were waiting for us when we arrived, moved to a location convenient for installation. The manager, Hedy, could not have been more helpful. Her staff was equally excellent--especially Neal, who helped us instep our mast for the bridges in the next part of our cruise. There's even a fabulous restaurant next door to the marina , with excellent food. The view of the Hudson River from the marina is also exceptionally pleasant, with woods on the other side of the wide and beautiful river.

Great place to stay, 2012-05-22
Captain: , Midland Ontario (660)

People make this place special. Husband and wife team who run the marina will go out of their way to make sure your stay is perfect. Yanni's restaurant next door has good food in a casual setting.

When the boat alarm sounds, 2012-05-17
Captain: , Jacksonville, Oregon (10)

We are on the "loop" and were experiencing problems with the lower unit on our boat. When the alarm went off we were just South of Coeymans Marina. We put more oil in the lower unit and pulled into Coeymans. Within 3 hours we were out of the water on blocks, and they had fiqured out the problem. The mechanics are top notch, the store is well supplied, the restaurant next door is great, they have a travel lift, good fuel prices, and the staff is helpful and very nice. They are putting in a new washer/dryer while we wait for them to put in a bow thruster on our 28 foot Bayliner. If we didn't live in Oregon we would stop here many times.

Nice place, 2011-09-04
Captain: , New York (22)

We stayed over during Hurricane Irene. A little tricky to get in between the seawall and the shallows, but the channel is well marked so don't worry about it. Once you get to the dock, you are well protected though.

During the storm and its (much worse) flooding afterwards, the staff of the marina worked tirelessly to make sure that the boats in their care were safe and the dockage remained secure.

The folks who run the place were as nice as can be, Eric the dockmaster was very good in making sure that we got to our slip and were tied up securely.

They also run a well stocked ship's store with reasonable prices on routine essentials. The restaurant, Yanni's Too, was a nice place to have dinner with good food and great service.

On shore bathrooms were about average but not a whole lot of privacy - the showers were great.

They have a travel lift on site and appear to have a full service department ready to take care of any needs.

I hope to return next season under better weather conditions.

Careful at low tide, 2011-08-04
Captain: , Stony Point, NY (852)

We were travelling south, and attempted to approach from the entrance past the Yacht Club. The river was very low, and we had to back out (we draw 4', 2") and went around the sea wall, which is submerged at high water, and carefully kept clear of the flats entering the south end.

Very nice and helpful dock crew, ship store, restaurant, full service marina.

Inconceivable, 2011-07-19
Captain: , Richmond VA (281)

Coeymans Landing Marina is the first marina to get my full 5 stars rating. As a captain I look at marinas with a cruisers eye. When I am in port I would love to have the following services from the marina;
%u2022 Electricity
%u2022 Water
%u2022 Fuel
%u2022 A service department
%u2022 Ships store
%u2022 Friendly staff
%u2022 A loaner car to get the other odds and ends
Well Coeymans had it all, and that is very rare indeed. Not only did it have it all it had it at the best price around. I drove an extra 70 miles to get here because the difference in fuel was over .50cents a gallon. When I left I had full fuel tanks, full water tanks, empty holding tanks, had the lock pass paid for, picked up mooring balls to complement my fenders, fully provisioned and laundry was all done. The marina let us use a car to get my son to a doctor and to get groceries. Can%u2019t say enough for this marina as they surpassed my expectations and for that they fully deserve the full 5 stars.

Emergency service 7-4-2011, 2011-07-05
Captain: , NewYork (15)

We were taking on water. Called on the VHF and Coeyman's sent out Eric in the dinghy to helpl. Within minutes after assessing the situation he had another boat and the fire dept arrive with pumps to bail us. Cared to follow our progress afer we got to the dock. A short haulout first thing next morning was done expediously. Very kind and caring people. Highly recommend

Coeyman's Landing Marina, 2011-07-04
Captain: , Hampton, VA (389)

A great stop for us. The current can make for some challenging docking. However, the staff is on hand to help you out. Heidi lent us her car so I could get my son to the Dr. A very well stocked ship's store, great fuel prices and we picked up our canal passes as well. The restauant was packed all the time. The restrooms were clean and convenient. We also enjoy a dip in the hot tub. We will be stopping by here again. Great southern hospitality!

Waiting in Coeymans, 2011-05-11
Captain: , St Augustine (403)

Stuck here waiting for NY to open canals, high water.
Owner Hedi was very helpful with reservation. She met me at the fuel dock and helped secure the boat with a strong tide and wind.
I have been here several times and will return often.
Adjoining restaurant was very good.
Only drawback to Coeymans is no rail or bus service. Must get taxi to Albany.
Now just have to learn how to pronounce Coeymans.

Coeyman's on the Hudson, 2010-09-26
Captain: , Williamsburg, VA (745)

We usually stop here to lower the short mast on our trawler. It's quiet enough from the wakes on the river for us to lower it safely. The folks here are quite helpful. There is a good restaurant and ships store here as well. Dockage can be a bit tight but, the staff will help you in and out.

Marina of Refuge, 2010-07-15
Captain: , Westbrook, CT (296)

The Hudson River was closed to all traffic all day on 7/13/2010 due to construction work on briddge section headed to NYC. The Coast Guard and Local Sherriff released no information when the river would reopen in days or weeks. We found refuge at Coeymans Landing Marina. Adequate showers and rest rooms. Terrible power and hose connections with extensions running five or six boat lengths to find a source. No help on docks. Single person at ships store/dockmaster to service customers.

Coeyman's Marina, 2009-07-08
Captain: , Annapolis, MD (1090)

The dockhand was not the greatest, but she tried hard. The ships store was well stocked and had everything we needed. We noticed that we had dinged our prop on the dinghy and the service folks were very helpful in trying to find a replacement. The owner, Hedy, was very pleasant and knowledgeable.

Coeymans, 2009-07-01
Captain: , Howard Prairie (500)

We started our great loop trip here. I think they are nice enough but not really service oriented. Not much close to the place Would be an ok overnight stop. Basic marine supplies in the store, fuel and water

A littel less than was advertised..., 2008-06-12
Captain: , Knoxville, TN (1)

Docks are floating, but rough. 30 amp but not 50 amp available. "Courtesy car" was a private vehicle. We borrowed it the first day but it was not allowed to be borrowed again. Instead, the staff drove us to the store and waited while we shopped.
