Reviews for Coconut Grove Sailing Club
Nice stop in Miami, 2017-04-19
Captain: , Rock Hall, MD (225)

CCSC has a few protected moorings that are available to transients and are much prefered to Dinner Key Marina mooring field for the calm waters inside. The club is nice, people are very nice. Showers and baths not so nice. Fishermen next door make lots of noise at 4AM. Moorings near the shore hear the fisherman. Try for one near the harbor entrance.

Super Stay!, 2016-05-14

Wonderful location with well-protected moorings. Staff was professional and helpful.

Duwayne the dockmaster could not be more friendly, super helpful.Price was right, the launch ran 24 hours a day. Fresh Market within walking distance... about 1/2 mile. Walked to West Marine.Transit bus stop close by. Took bus to train to get to the Apple Store at Dadeland Mall. Endless restaurants in Coconut Grove.

We spent a month in the mooring field, and had a wonderful time. The proximity to restaurants, grocery, mass transit, dog walking parks, running trails, etc. can't be beat. It is very protected behind the picnic keys.

This is a very active sailing club with a very friendly staff. The 24 hour boat taxi really spoiled us.
We were made to feel welcome from the moment we arrived. The commodore and all the office holders went above and beyond to make sure we had a great stay.

Shopping is nearby and downtown is in easy walking distance.

We will definitely stop here again.

Oh My God! We have found Narvana!!, 2012-06-01

5/29/12 Just ust arrived 15 min ago and feel like we are in God's Country! Wil;l add much more soon. 6/1/12 Well been here several days Club is friendly and well located. The heads and showers are 'used' but for the $ well worth it and perfectly usable. This is a sailing club and lots of kids learn to sail here --they make a great use of the smnall heads. No laundry facilities is a draw back as there is no convenient location to dry the damp stuff.
LOCK EVERY THING EVERY WHERE!! We lost our Trek Bike in town. Dede went in to a shop to look at a shirt, parked her bike out siide the window--I parked mine ten feet up the sidewalk and went back to the shop to pay the visa bill for the shirt~! In that two minutews --my bike wasa gone!! Crimes of opportunity-don't let them take advantage of you. Becarefule biking --locals drive MB, BMW, Porsches, and exotics like its Sebring they will not give you a break! Very wealthu community "in town" -- and the right suburb -go the wrong way and be armed!

Nothing short of wonderful!, 2012-02-14

We spent one night on a Dinner Key mooring, which was fine but far away, then had a call from Coconut Grove Sailing Club that a mooring had opened up. The mooring field was tight, but Duane really knows the field, and we've been just fine for 5 great days. Coconut Grove is a blast - great eats, a wonderful bookstore with wifi that lets you bring your dogs inside, and more. CGSC has free wifi for both on land and on the boat, and it's been great. Super people, super club, and very active sailing community.

What a great find!, 2011-05-03
Captain: , Deltaville (200)

We arrived here by accident, literally. We were trying to get the the city mooring field and went aground in <5ft near the sailing club docks. Without asking, they sent out the launch and guided us to a mooring and made sure we were OK, what's better than that ?

Suits smaller (<40ft) boats better than really big cruisers. Has one spot for bigger boats, but you will swing VERY close to the big catamaran that's always here.

This place has it all : 24Hr launch service, easy acccess to stores, free water, great protection and cheap, easy public transport.

The trendy Coconut Grove area is right on your doorstep (check out the local cinema complex for $6 matinees) and it's easy to get to Miami for just a couple of $'s on the Metrorail / Bus system.

West Marine and another marine store (Crook & Crook on US1 by the Metrorail station) are fairly easy to get to on foot / bus.
