We stayed here a week. Had reservations with Club de Nautico but could not communicate well with them and when we pulled up they asked us to come back in an hour to talk to the marina manager. Headed to the fuel dock which I was not sure was ok as I had not cleared customs but it was some place to park and use the phone after the long run from the San Blas. Managed to get a hold of Club de Pesca and although could not find anyone who cuould speak english they waved me over and I am glad they did. Marina was tight getting in, they dont have full slips its not med mooring but the two poles you tie two off the bow. Once in we had good power , excellent security and great access to the city. Cartegna is a rough town, and you need to be a bit cautious, but it is beautiful and historic with lots to see. I would not anchor out and be comfortable leaving my boat. The folks and Pesca watched 24 hours and I mean really watched the boat . I thouight it was great as I have my family with me. Also rumours about high prices I found to be untrue. they were very reasonable at about a buck a foot for the stay.

Seriously, the same cra. beat music at full blast until 3 AM on Thursday without regard to anybody else in the anchorage. Would not support them with a single peso.

Secure and Convenient, 2012-12-11

Club de Pesca is a private yachting and social club that will accept transient yachts from time to time as space is available. The staff are very friendly and accommodating and the security team is outstanding. We were very happy with all aspects of our stay and given that there are few choices in Cartagena, felt the secured and convenient marina was worth the expense. As they are not really in the public marina business, we felt lucky to get a slip for a three week stay. A humble email in Spanish through their website with information about the boat, crew and our cruising goals was effective in getting a quick response. It is also helpful to have a personal referral from a club member. Contact Lee Miles, Ambassador through the Seven Seas Cruising Association for assistance.

Better alternative in Cartagena, 2012-12-07

There are really the two marinas (only .5km apart). Club Nautica is a slum, de Pesca is a nice yacht club. Great docks and power, nice people. A bit expensive however. Our 44ft cat is $2.65/ft/night (double the monohull fee)
Not much english spoken here so by phone if you speak no spanish it may be a problem
