We stopped here for several days to pick up a mooring ($50/nite with launch service) as our daughter's Naid 39 was being commissioned for a launch next month. We were delightfully surprised with the wonderful welcome we recieved. The shoreside bathroom and shower will remind you of a rustic Carribean facility rather than one across the bay from Newport. The biking was really fun with rides to Beavertail, Fort Getty and the north end of the island with a stop at the Jamestown Windmill (facinating history and immaculately restored) Our mooring was the most picturesque we've had with panoramic views of Narragansett bay and the Newport Bridge. We spent a few days here so got to bike everywhere around Jamestown Island. The provissioning is great at McQuade's and the jamestown Hardware is old school with litterally anything you could need. Some marine supplies are available at a marine store across the street but I would suggest a future stop at a Westmarine instead. A Slice of Heaven has the best food for b- fast or lunch and several other restaurants are here as well for dinner. The music scene is very popular Thursday through Sunday with live bands at the Narragansett Cafe.

This is a really great Family owned boat yard. Great customer service. Gary always seems willing to go the extra mile to help out with problems, (like my fathers sinking wooden Herreshoff.) Reasonable rates for Hauling and storage. From what I've seen, repair and refit work is top of the line. Defenitly a better atmosphere than some of the bigger, more commercial yards in the area.

The family running this facility (Clark family) make it. The mooring field is well maintained, but a bit exposed to the South resulting in some rocking. A free shuttle service is provided to shore and to the town docks for a second shuttle to Newport. Also only a short walk to town which has all the amenities.
