Reviews for Clancy's Marina
Great Marina!, 2017-05-10
Captain: , Westport CT (484)

Stopped here with Osprey Moon and left the boat for two weeks as we went back to work. Could not have been more pleased with Greg and his marina. Brand new bathrooms/showers, floating docks, right in town, etc. In addition since they do repairs and service I was able to get several items fixed while I was away (windshield wipers and dead shower sump pump). All done on time and well.

Will stop here again in fall on our way south.

a great little Marina, 2017-05-03
Captain: , Galveston, TX (61)

I was met at the dock by Dave and Greg who expertly got me tied up and powered up in a 40 not wind. After a wonderful night sleep Greg came and did a wonderful job on the oil changes and basic maintenance items that I need it done. I rode three quarters of a mile on my electric scooter with my wagon and got a weeks worth of groceries at Piggly Wiggly's. Very satisfied with the stay very satisfied with the work done, I would highly recommend it.

If you can fit under the bridge., 2017-03-29

Great marina. Clean large bathrooms. Walk to Oriental restaurants. Gregg is also a diesel mechanic and has a lift. Stayed there two years. Love it, Wayne

Great marina and people, 2016-11-14
Captain: , Ocracoke, NC (70)

Greg Bohmert of Clancy's marina is a very knowledgable mechanic and electrician who has helped us out so very much! It's a clean marina, with a beautiful view. We held out Hurricane Matthew here at the only floating docks in town and it was a very safe place to hole up.

A great place in Oriental, 2016-11-01
Captain: , Norfolk, VA (701)

We stayed here on 10/29/16 for our first time at this marina. It is clean and close to the center of Oriental. always a wonderful place to visit. Greg Bohmert, the owner is usually onsite, and can probably fix any mechanical or electrical problem. We especially liked the floating docks. Be sure to call ahead, as there are limited transient slips. Call Greg on his cell phone at 252-675-1410. It is good to have a very good option in Oriental. We had no trouble getting in with our four foot draft, though we did see a little mud in the prop wash. We will certainly return.

Hurricane Hideout & Boatwork, 2015-12-10
Captain: , Annapolis, MD (20)

We planned to stay in Oriental for 3 months to do a semi-major boat refit. Our mast-height is about 45 feet so we barely fit under the bridge. We chose to stay here because of the floating docks (which worked out perfectly during the major flood that happened this summer) AND because we needed some major work done.

The marina was very modest and simple, but the quality and crafstmanship of Greg and Dave was outstanding. We had a completely new engine installed and the entire boat was rewired for cruising purposes. Greg is a perfectionist in every sense of the word, and it shows in the quality of his work. He takes every single scenario into consideration when designing the optimal system for us. He also made some wonderful recommendations for other local individuals and businesses to complete the many other boat jobs that we had.

If you can fit under the bridge, and plan for more than just a night or two, as far as we're concerned this is the only marina worth staying at. Its only a block away from town, but away from the hustle of the town docks (which are tiny and awkward if there are more than just a couple of boats). If you need boatwork done, then this is DEFINITELY the place to go.

Best in Oriental, 2012-05-26
Captain: , Oriental, NC (40)

Greg Bohmert has built a first-class marina. The floating docks provide security in almost any weather. He does mechanical work as well. If you can get under the Hwy 55 bridge (49 feet), this is the place to be. The only negative review was because the marker was in the wrong place.

Very good facility, 2011-09-05
Captain: , New Bern NC (20)

This is the place to stop if you need engine or electrical repairs, Greg is top notch. Has the best docks in Oriental. Sometimes it is hard to make contact but if you need work done it is worth the effort.
