Reviews for City of Barrie Municipal Docks
Bayfield Street Boat Basin, 2014-07-28

Tied up to the cement pier in the middle, room for a dozen boats. Has 30A power and one water spigot with enough hose to reach all boats. For a $10.00 deposit you get a key to the new "boater's bathrooms" in the adjoining park which have showers.
Lots of foot traffic, swimming, fishing, dragon boats and small boats operating late.
Park is overun by geese, wear shoes at all times!

A good place to tie-up for a day trip to Barrie. There is no charge if you don't overnight. Restaurants, patios overlooking the lake, bars, downtown stores, coffee shops, etc. are within easy walking distance/stroll, as is the expansve Barrie waterfront that oftern hosts craft shows and music festivals. The dock can get busy so best to be there either first thing in the morning or later in the day if you want to find space to tie-up. Watch for prevailing westerly wind that can keep you pinned to the windward side of the dock on a blustery day.
