Reviews for City Marina at Garrison Bight
Good price for KW and a nice place, 2015-10-12
Captain: , Montgomery Alabama (1102)

We stayed here in 2013 and decided to come back to here , this year . It is confusing which is which with all the marinas in this little harbor .

The rates in Oct are reasonable and we enjoy sitting on the boat and watching the parade down Highway #1 in the evenings , everything from stretch limos to skateboards .

Terri , the dockmaster is very friendly , and loves dogs . The marina is within walking distance of groceries and Duval street . Our dock neighbors are very friendly and made us feel welcome .

We have enjoyed both our stays here , and if we ever come back by boat it will be to here .

Its not the fanciest place , but its nice and reasonably priced .

Good times, 2014-03-29
Captain: , Lanexa VA. (260)

used there moring field and it by far the least expensive way to stay in key west. Not well protected from a north wind.

great stop, 2014-02-09
Captain: , Brookings (308)

thanks to the staff at Key West City Marina for their helpfulness & pleasant attitudes while we visited your city for a week. The location is great, especially if you have bikes to explore the town. Gets you away from all the crowds on Duval. They have made some great improvements and more to come. Hope the shower/restrooms are on their list. And best of all, it's a great value. Very reasonable rates.

Garrison Bight City Marina, 2014-02-09
Captain: , Illinois (2444)

We justs spent a week at Garrison Bight City Marina and really enjoyed the facility. The floating concrete docks were such a pleasant change from the posts used at most marinas. Dock hands kept them clean with power washers.
Soon, pump off stations will be operable on the docks. At present, a pump off boat will visit on request.
Personnel were helpful and understanding of visitors needs. Jan was especially helpful. We hope to visit again soon.
Thanks to all at the marina.

Mooring Field a Bargain, 2014-02-03
Captain: , Seabrook, TX (250)

We used the mooring field for a couple of months, and were very happy with the service and facilities. The mooring field can be very much affected by N-NW winds, but otherwise is fine. While the showers and laundry were in good shape, the dinghy dock is poorly monitored.

It's Key West, 2013-03-07
Captain: , Doylestown, Pa. 18902 (414)

Great place to launch, super launch ramp with floating dock. Trailer storage available. We trailered a 23' boat here and stayed for a week. Bring bicycles as they make it easier to tour the area. They have a bike rack Bathrooms are kind of used up as they are public. The showers are clean but no sinks, nothing extra. You can park your tow vehicle pretty close by which for us was a plus. They have no weekly rate just daily or monthly. We will return.

Bargain, but not very scenic, 2012-08-29
Captain: , Atlanta, GA (291)

Good staff and adequate facilities. A bit far from Duval and the crazy party of Key West, which is either a good thing or a bad thing depending on your perspective.

Great Key West bargain, 2012-04-13
Captain: , Dunedin, FL (6484)

At $1.90 ft, City Marina is a bargain. It is on bus route, easy walking/biking distance from anywhere on the Key. Note City Marina has dock space on both sides of the causeway, the outer harbor is mostly floating houses, the inner harbor has large charter fishing fleet. Staff helpful although we docked on our own. Floating concrete docks about the dirtiest we have seen, staff apoligized saying they were behind on dock washing. Pump out boat comes out anytime you request.

Good location, 2012-03-15
Captain: , Charlestown (946)

Nice people run this place. The bathrooms are public and leave a lot to be desired. Lots of bird excrement on the docks. Can be a bit noisy being on the main drag, but for the price as compared to other places in Key West it wasn't a bad value.

Staying Month of January 2012, 2012-01-08
Captain: , Orange Beach (70)

We have stayed the first week of our month long stay at City Marina.
Bath and shower facilities are basic, we are on Wahoo dock along Rout 1 so we get a lot of traffic noise during the day.
Floating concreate piers are nice but slips are set up for smaller boats. Our 40 was a stretch but worked fine in the first slip location. No cable TV.
The staff is good and accomidating most requests, as much as a city employee is allowed. For KW the prce was right at 1460.00 for the month. We are only one mile from Duval, groceries and K mart available within a mile as well.

Good Value, DON"T WORRY about the water depth at Trumbo Point, 2012-01-06
Captain: , Muskegon, MI (2982)

Good people run this place. We came in at low tide and we draw 6 feet. We never had less than 8.5 feet anywhere in the approach or entrance. Inside Garrison Bight we had some 6's, but never outside of the bight

Interesting Municipal Marina, 2011-12-12
Captain: , Punta Gorda FL (1709)

A good inexpensive way to visit Key West with issues. For those that know Key West, downtown marinas can be expensive, busy and noisy. This is not. It's laid back, easy going and 1 mile from Mallory Square. Great restraurants and interesting shops are close by. Issues are proximity and noise from Route 1, unflexable rates and limited faciltites. Example. I took a one month lease that on the internet was $34 per day but upon arrival it is $45 per day. Stay one extra day and had to pay $88 for the one night. Explanatin by the marina manager was wholly inadequate. Also, there are two sets of restrooms and showers. One for the boat ramp day users and one for the long term liveaboards. The latter is nicer and cleaner. One month lease holders get the boat ramp facilties unless you bitch. They also have WIFI but again you only get access if you fuss. Bottomline, rates are good but marina is not quite up to par.

No Frills, but good value, 2011-06-12
Captain: , Key West (209)

I've had a slip there for 10+ years... No pool, No Bar, No working on boats, but a great value for KW. Houseboat Row is a very close-knit community

Small boat option for Key West, 2011-04-13
Captain: , Pensacola (430)

For boats in the 25-30' range this is a great option for Key West. Take the City bus downtown or anywhere on the island. Floating docks with water and electric. Friendly and helpful staff. Only downside is crossing Palm avenue to get to the shower and restroom. Make eye contact before crossing even if the walk light is on.
