Reviews for Chesapeake Harbour Marina
Simply fabulous again! (and again), 2017-07-16
Captain: , PooleUK (1023)

Now aboard another Nordhavn, and back again jut in time to Wish JD well in his new job, my fingers are crossed that the new staff (nearly all of them) maintain the outstanding service and faclity as it has been historically. Fingers crossed for you all! (ps, see you in September!)

After another spell here this last summer (2016) I can do little but prise the service and staff of this most excellent facility! Thank you all for your help, dedication and fabulous service. See you next year!

After a period from July until NOvember was happily spent here, I can only thank the staff again for going above and beyond once more.
Thank you!
Please save me a space for the 76 in two years!

Having spent the period from October until March at the Chesapeake Harbour Marina, I can happily report that the guys are making an all out effort to improve the experience further, this is one of VERY FEW places that I am happy to leave the boat and return to the UK for vacations, as I know that the staff will keep a good eye on the boat, her lines, fenders, power and keep me in the loop. The staff have been attentive, hugely helpfull and a huge credit to the marina, please keep it up chaps!

Now if only MD would encourage a few more larger boats the marinas would be full again!

Attentive staff, great shelter, stable power and WIFI, very good facilities, wonderfull access to the bay.
If they had a small convienence store on site it would be perfect!

During my current visit the Owner handed over the marina to his son, who has disposed of Managers Rob and Fred who realy made the place the gem it was. I shall watch this space with genuine interest to see if I shall visit in the future.

If you can get to the pump out dock you may have as much waste as you desire pumped out. We managed with the Nordhavn 64 just fine.

A little gem outside of Annapolis, 2017-05-31

Friends held a graduation party at Sam's and told us to come by boat and stay the night - glad we did. Access was clearly marked from the Severn. Sam's a nice restaurant with a tiki bar outside. Dockhands were friendly and helpful. Cable tv actually worked. Bathrooms were bright and clean. If you want to avoid downtown Annapolis, this is the perfect option.

First class and very protected, 2016-10-17
Captain: , Erie, Pa. (1896)

First class operation, first class docks, good power with 100 amp plugs, good water depth, $4 foot for dock & power. Good restaurant.

10-2-16 Same as before. Very protected and water has strong pressure, good depth, power is good.

Very Protected, 2016-07-27
Captain: , Lancaster (31)

We have had a slip here for the last two years. The condos surrounding the marina make it very protected from the wind. Bad for those that don%u2019t have air-conditioning, but great for those that do.
When it is blowing 20-25 knots out in the bay, it is still very calm inside.

Well Protected in a Private Community, 2016-05-17
Captain: , Annapolis (411)

This is a gated community with security to enter so it is safe. Well protected and Sam's Cafe on site. Don't let the name fool you, Lunch and Dinner cater to the 3/4 Million and up homeowners and Yacht owners. The food is excellent and the prices are reasonable. Very nice staff here.

Well protected marina easy access, 2014-07-09
Captain: , Rock Hall Md. (138)

Staff works hard to make your stay a great experience, although they forgot what time to pick us up after a day in town. After a call they were there in less then ten minutes. Depth at the end of J dock shows 3.7 ft at low tide as you move closer to fairway depths increase. Bar is nice but the area needs a good scrubbing to get rid of stale beer smell. Overall a nice quite spot to stop and enjoy the pool and restaurant.

nothing to say but "Great", 2014-05-28
Captain: , Boca Raton, FL (1522)

Everyone here is great. The food is great. Tonja in the office goes out of her way to make sure that your stay is the best it can be. Eric and crew are responsive and friendly. Transient docking right next to restaurant if you just want to drop in for a bite or drink.
Shuttle to run around. Big west marine close by. Great docks although they are fixed.... I've gotten spoiled with floating docks. Laundry and showers are clean.

No other marina like it!, 2013-10-09
Captain: , Annapolis (160)

Most secure, out of the weather dockage in Annapolis
Nice resaurant and bar
very accomadating staff
reasonable prices
closer to a grocery store, Fawcetts & West Marine than downtown marinas

A fine marina, 2013-09-24
Captain: , Jupiter, FL (1306)

It's a little hard to locate because it's so tucked in, but for that reason it's a great marina to tie up in.
Not much wind and no current.
The restaurant is good.
The bar is great.
The staff will work hard to make your stay a good one and they're always available to lend a hand.
The folks in the condos are friendly and the marina residents are too.
Great for dogs.
Internet is excellent and free.

High End Marina and Restaurant, 2013-09-07
Captain: , Annapolis Md (280)

We visited in July 2013. The weather was hot and the pool very welcome. The docks are very nice and the staff friendly. Two meals at Sams Restaurant were very good and reasonably priced. Transportation to Annapolis was provided for a small fee. All in all a very nice time with a beautiful view.

Nice place, nice boats..., 2013-05-06
Captain: , Rock Hall, MD (250)

If you don't want to anchor-out on Spa Creek or Back Creek to save a few bucks, this is a perfectly nice marina -- Nice local resturant/bar, beautiful boats, shuttle (during some hours) to take you to town... Short hike to the pool.

Super Nice, 2013-01-12
Captain: , Browns Cove, MD (402)

I have not stayed here, but have stopped for lunch 3-4 times when traveling up and down the bay. This is a very well protected manmade marina basin with crazy high dollar yachts. Annapolis has them too, but this is less busy and easier access. The boat site-seeing is a fun bonus. We enjoy SAMs right in the basin for dockside dining and great Mojitos :)

We love this marina. We used to have part ownership in a boat here and gladly stayed here for more than a week on our way down the Chesapeake early this fall. We got a weekly rate. The facilities are wonderful, with very clean abth houses. I think one of the best things is the portable pumpout that comes to your boat on the dock. We did not even jave to move the boat!!!

We had a new refrigeration unit installed by Nate the local Sea Frost specialist (son of Sa Frost in RI). Nate is a great guy, hard worker, and totally into customer satisfaction.

There is a great grocery store, Giant, and many restaurants and stores, including West Marine, at the end of the main road into Chesapeake Harbor (1.2 miles on Edgewood Road). Fawcett Boat Supply and West Marine are across the street and down a block (.1 miles and .3 miles futher than the Giant respectively).

Lovely facilities, 2012-11-04
Captain: , Baltimore (100)

The pool is fantastic, the restaurant a delight. Very nice piers and accomodating for transients.

A very tidy basin, 2012-11-03
Captain: , Londontowne, MD (470)

We've only come for lunch at the onsite restaurant (usually very decent), so can't comment on overnight facilities or other amenties within the surrounding gated community. That said, the marina is always very clean and staff has always been very helpful. We've made side tie-ups at a couple of the T-heads and also along the bulkhead next to the restaurant, always with no problems. Visiting helmsmen, especially with longer boats, DO need to be confident about being able to turn in very tight spaces, since there's no wasted space in the basin.

Chesapeake Harbour Marina Review, 2012-11-03
Captain: , St. Catharines, Ontario, Canada (20)

Water Music just weathered its first named storm under our watch with the help of very helpful, concerned and watchful marina staff who helped us move and secure our boat and who then walked the docks checking all the boats throughout the storm, not knowing how bad it might get. Sandy waited to turn left past us. We didn't get the surge or much of the winds predicted but we will be forever grateful to Eric, JD and Will for their concern and efforts. AND the marina and facilities are first rate and well protected. Five Stars plus the three we just named.

2012 Review, 2012-07-24
Captain: , Austin Texas (120)

Nice marina that has a great staff. Internet is good for $11 a month. Have been here for a week and we have a car to travel into town. The restaurant is ok but not great. The bar is dog friendly and good. Pumpout is 50 gallons at a time. Has pool and showers.

Mixed Emotions, 2012-07-16
Captain: , Aventura, Florida (330)

The staff is very friendly and went overboard to help us. We arrived in Marina after a huge storm, so there was no power. We had to run our gensets and had no access to pool facility or resturants. The work out room was very poorly maintained. on our last day there we did finally get power on and the resturant and pools opened. We we poorly compensated for having to run generators and no use of any facilities during the stay.

Very nice, sheltered marina, friendly staff, 2012-07-05
Captain: , Cape Coral, FL (231)

We stayed a week in June/July 2012. The private channel is well marked and I didn't see less than 8 feet all the way in at mid-tide. The marina is well shelered and has easy access to the beach. Docks are fixed, but in pretty good shape. Wi-Fi is cheap at about $11 for a month, but the bandwidth is inconsistent. Cell service is spotty at this location as well. For extended stays I'd suggest a rental car (we had one). Nothing is walkable, but everything is a short, easy drive. There is a shuttle available. The marina is quiet, which we enjoy. We'll stay again.

two day visit, 2012-06-24
Captain: , Somers Point, NJ (230)

We were here for two days in mid June and really enjoyed our stay. Friendly people in the marina, very nice staff, courtesy car was great and the bar at the marina is a fun place to hang out. Easy in and out from the bay makes it a great place to stop. Carrols creed restaurant is amazing.

Good Sheltered Facility, 2012-06-22
Captain: , Somers Point (460)

Stayed for two days here. Great sheltered place with tennis courts and swimming pools. Bathrooms are clean and orderly. Docks can be resurfaced. Restaurant had good food but overall preperation and delivery of the meal was very slow.

A little out of town, 2011-10-10
Captain: , Fort Lauderdale (1344)

A first-rate marina, well maintained, well managed, very helpful dockmaster, and easy to get into and out of. A couple of downers: cell phone service and Internet service (AT&T and Verizon respectively for me) were poor to very poor, a problem we also had when we stayed here 8 or 10 years ago. We were on A Dock, which is a five-minute walk from the designated parking area.

And the out-of-town location really requires having transportation of some sort if you want to get into Annapolis. The Water Taxi does not come into the marina.

Good protection; great staff, 2011-10-06
Captain: , Portsmouth (372)

The marina is easy to enter and very well protected. Fixed docks are in very good condition. Power is stable. WiFi is via Annapolis WiFi but the fee is very reasonable.

Staff is very helpful and pleasant. An very good spot.

Little Gem, 2011-08-20
Captain: , Daniel Island, SC (330)

Well run, ultra-clean bath houses, protected marina, professional staff with two pools and fitness center. The really good restaurants, including Lewnes Steak House, 3 miles away, Whole Foods and Fresh Market 9 miles.

Totally protected man-made harbor. Very nice facilites, pools, beach. Great upper scale restaurant as well as very good Tiki bar food.

Very good accommodations, 2007-11-01
Captain: , Annapolis, MD (1342)

Clean, quiet surroundings, access to tennis and pools, and outstanding staff. Pump out is free to slip-holders (including transients I believe) to East of restaurant. Pump-out is available in slips for a fee.
