Reviews for Charlotte Harbor Boat Storage
Great DIY Yard, 2017-05-27
Captain: , Punta Gorda, FL (124)

Brought my boat there for some bottom maintenance and to install a new thru hull fitting. Staff is great and very accomodating. Yard is secure and safe. Lift operators are very good and very attentive. I highly recommend Charlotte Harbor Boat Storage. I will certainly bring my boat back here again when I have more work to do.

Great Boat Yard, 2016-05-25
Captain: , Saint James City,FL (52)

You'll not find a better boat yard anywhere. The folks here really know boats and how best to help you with yours. You can do all the work on your boat here or farm some of it out to approved, insured contractors. One may also stay on board using the clubhouse(aka The Hut) with showers, kitchen facilities washer/dryer and picnic tables. The guys that handle the travel lift are really cautious in putting your boat on the hard and blocking it up. They are also good sources of info for finding parts and supplies.

Long stay at the Charlotte Harbor Boat Storage, 2016-03-25
Captain: , Kemah, TX (202)

Our boat was on the front page of the Charlotte Sun Sunday Newspaper. We were the ones whose boat got away from it's anchor and ended up on the sea wall. Lots of people wistnessed the event, and we actually made some good friends who were there. We were given the instructions to go to the CHBS so we could get our boat fixed, and work on it ourselves as well. It's rather a trick getting into the place, and if you're a sailboat with a 5' or deeper keel, you will need to wait until high tide, or go very slowly. There are some very shallow areas. MV' problems.

We were in the boat yard for 6 weeks. We met some wonderful people there, got lots of work done on the boat, and had the bulk of the damages that we didn't fix, fixed by Joe and Ronnie and their crew. It's a homey place, the folks who run it are great! Very friendly and helpful. The people up on the hard are a good group of people as well. We really enjoyed our stay there...and loved having the ability to work on the boat. Decent prices, too.

Sorry for my error but the review of mine from 2016-1-2 was intended for Safe Harbor Boat Storage but I was unable to change after I noticed that I made the review notes to the incorrect boat storage yard.

Exceptional, 2015-12-15

Professional - organized - hospitable. DIY dream yard, very accommodating, clean. If you need ahaul out in Charlotte Harbor, this is the place.

Great DIY Boatyard, 2015-11-17
Captain: , ft pierce fl (40)

Clean DIY facility, smoothly run by an accomodating owner and staff. Screened in boater's lounge "The Hut" is a MAJOR benefit- with TV, showers, library, water fountain, free ice machine, new refrigerator, blasting fans, a kitchen of sorts, and laundry. Nothing fancy, but all useful and well planned.
Brady runs a good operation and is very thoughtful ; he anticipates needs and goes out of his way to help everyone.
Best of all: no major restrictions outside of safety and county enviro regs (no pets in the Hut is the only thing I can think of).

2nd summer here for storage, 2015-04-23
Captain: , Englewood, FL - Winter, Cape May, NJ -Summer (1076)

Its been a pleasure storing at CHBS. You set up a date with them, and they keep to the agreed time. You get a key to the gate so you can come and go after hours.

Safe & Sound on the hard, 2014-07-25
Captain: , Punta Gorda (30)

Great place to layover for the summer. Professional boat handling with no short cuts, just courteous service by really nice people. Facilities for boat owners are simple, clean and self policed by boat owners who share information, sailing experiences and knowledge. Need a hand, ask...someone will invariably step up and usually suggest a better or faster way. So nice!

Friendly community-like place, 2014-01-25
Captain: , Toronto (31)

You can live on your boat while you get it ready to splash, do your own work and be with great people.

Excellent yard to DIY, 2013-12-25
Captain: , Brandon, VT (422)

One can stay on one's boat, work on her, get help from quality mechanics, and enjoy the companionship of like-minded boaters. We have been at the yard for hurricane storage for the past 5 years. While there have been changes over time the yard is a wonderful part of our experience. Highly recommended.

They are the best !, 2013-11-02
Captain: , Newport, RI (204)

I stayed here for the off season (summer). Very good people work here, they let you work on your boat and will help if asked. They suggested who to use fore services and got me a deal. I have a large steel rudder sand blasted for less than I can fill one of my diesel tanks. Highly recomended !! (drawback is you can not walk anywhere from here..)

a great haulout facility, 2013-08-23

Good management. A wonderful DIY yard with good facilities.

This is the place for the do it yourself skipper, 2012-01-09

Wow, what a difference between Charlotte harbor Bost Storage and All American next door. These guys are friendly, helpful, and willing to do whatever it takes to help you get the job done right. Also, if you need help, they have a list of great contractors. I particularly found J&R Marine very helpful and reasonably priced. You can stay on your boat, water and electricity is included. They have a club house with cooking facilities and shower. Very nice and helpful group of cruisers up on the hard. All American was exactly the opposite. Maybe that is what Charlotte Harbor Boat Storage was packed with boats and All Anmerican was almost empty.

Best Haul-out yard/storage in area, 2011-07-09
Captain: , Punta Gorda, FL (639)

The do what they say - when they say they will do it. Not like other boatyards. Their travel-lift is remote controlled. It operates with precision. They are very professional and careful. All of the yard people are helpful and friendly. You can use outside contractors. They are good people. You won't be disappointed.

Very competent operation, 2011-04-29

First Class Operation, 2010-11-02
Captain: , Ft. Myers (406)

I used one of their recommended contractors, Impact Marine, to paint the bottom of my boat. Joel Schindler owner of Impact did an excellent job. Charlotte Harbor Boat Storage is well run, clean and reasonably priced. CHBS takes credit cards unlike the storage yard next door.
