Reviews for Charleston Marina Complex
Rough place but out of the weather pattern, 2016-10-04
Captain: , Seattle (140)

This place has a very commercial flavor and the docks are quite dirty & old. High voltage is 208 & not in great shape. Ours blew out but an electrician came within an hour even on the week-end and fixed it. Heavily used by non-boaters to crab & fish from the docks. This contributes to the excess of fishing scraps, dog & bird crap. But when it's blowing hard up in the bay, this location is more sheltered & warm. Staff is friendly & helpful.

Interesting Marina, Very Small Town, 2016-05-18
Captain: , Seattle (212)

The marina is quite sleepy. The office is closed on the weekends, and wasn't open by 9:00am Monday when we left. The docks are in good condition. There are several restaurants within walking distance. The area is beautiful, and the bar entrance is visible from just above the marina. Navigation was straight forward following the ranges and cans, which is good, because there are lots of shoals.

Nice fishing village, 2015-04-19
Captain: , San Diego (302)

We spent nine days waiting on weather here at the marina's guest dock. Lots of fishing boats and activity on the docks during the day but peaceful at night. While there were big swells outside, the guest dock was comfortable and affordable.

Wifi is now available for a fee, $7.50 a day or $22 for a week. Fairly good for everything but streaming.

Local resturants are good, some provisioning nearby but you are a bit far from the main towns of Coos Bay and North Bend. We rented a car and saw the area, which we would recommend if you have time.

Charleston Marina, 2014-07-28
Captain: , Newport Beach, CA (420)

Transient dock has good power, 30 amp and 50 amp 125/250. No wifi. Dock not secure and has many people crab fishing during the day during the season. Reasonable prices.

Unbelievably rude, 2013-10-17
Captain: , Portland, Oregon (52)

I called to request a fuel price quote and the operator would not quote over the phone, then hung up on me. I called back and he said he was too busy to quote a fuel price and hung up again. I mean I only have an 80 foot boat that holds 3600 gallons, price can be important. Guess I will give my business to newport.

Good basic transient moorage, 2012-05-26
Captain: , Kirkland, WA (4478)

Transient dock is a good basic moorage with few extras. There is still a lot of activity on the dock including people crabbing and workboats coming, going, and repairing. Restaurants, small grocery, seafood sales, and Englund Marina supply are all within walking distance.

Noisy Transient Dock, 2011-09-22
Captain: , Seatte, WA (131)

The transent dock at the main marina can be ver loud with the town drinking and crabbing crew going late into the night. But its CHEAP.

For $10 more a night, you can grab a slip down by the shipyard just past the draw bridge. Closer to Englund and quieter.

Safe harbor, 2011-09-18
Captain: , Edmonton (150)

Put in here when forecast for farther south was poor. Harbor is safe from winds. Vew frills, a bit of a walk to shopping (not great), pub a walk and very good marine store. About 5 miles to North Bend or Coos Bay. Marina staff very accomodating and helpful. Not expensive moorage, fuel dock is good.

Marina Office is a slight walk from the marina., 2011-05-07
Captain: , Alameda, CA (811)

This marina is a working commercial marina so there are few frills. But the office staff is friendly and there are a couple small cafes onsite for food and drink.
