Reviews for Cedar Point Marina
enjoyable place to stay, 2016-07-22
Captain: , Port Huron Michigan (180)

Family drove here, so we had a car when needed for the six days we docked here. Kids and grandkids love the place. I am no fan of roller coasters, but they love 'em and the marine was very good. Stayed in South basin, fireworks for July 1st to the 4th with a great view.

Roller-coaster heaven, and a nice marina, too, 2015-06-25

Fun theme park and large marina.

Night and Day, 2013-07-07
Captain: , Sandusky, Ohio (21)

Night and day difference between the main marina and south basin transient docks. South basin is close to the main park entrance and has a great view of the the 4th of July fireworks. The actual docks are wide, and have good water and electrical, but thats it. Restrooms for the transient dock is dated, plenty of unrinals but only 2 toilets, so if ya gotta do #2 and its busy you could be in trouble. Wifi is nonexistent, and its a hike to the pool and Famous Daves. Just a bit pricey or 2 days dockage, but what at Cedar point isn't. All in all it was a good experience for the family.

Decent place - worth it completely if you're with kids and hitting the park, 2013-01-29

Very crowded and fairly expensive, but worth it if you're hitting the park. Can't beat the convenience. On weekends you will hear rollercoasters going well past 11.

AWESOME MARINA!!!!, 2012-09-22
Captain: , Grosse Pointe Farms (260)

One of the best marinas I have ever visited! Very clean, friendly service & perfect location for Cedar Point access! Cedar Point is best visited by boat....

The Amazement Park!, 2012-07-03
Captain: , Cedar Point, OH (659)

Good news for Cedar Point transients: The much-preferred Pier 11 (50 ft docks on one side and 40 ft docks on the other) is once again dedicated to transients boaters and BOATERS WITH ANY SIZE BOAT MAY REQUEST A DOCK ON PIER 11! Pier 11 is immediately beyond the fuel pier and Famous Dave's. It has 50 ft finger docks on the near side and 40 ft fingers on the other, with an open section at the end to accommodate large boats. All docks have 50 amp service, so boats with 30A service will need an adapter. The marina office rents them. There's a park entrance about 100 yards away.

The other transient area, the south basin, is also still available. They're numbered 21-23, with 24 being the long common pier. These docks tend to be dirty during off-peak times of the season and the fingers lack uprights. As mentioned, they're far away from the marina office and Famous Dave's, but they're not so far from the pool. The front entrance of the park is fairly close to the south basin, but complaints about the park entrance makes little sense, as most car parking spots are further than the docks, and most people walk all day once inside the park anyway.

A fondness of roller coasters isn't necessary to enjoy Cedar Point. Free shuttles run regularly from the marina to the waterpark (Soak City), Camper Village (the pool is accessible to boaters and has a children's splash zone), the Cedar Point Beach, and to the hotels and other restaurant options.

Nice Transient Dockage for "Big" Boats, 2012-06-27
Captain: , Catawba Island, OH (140)

Cedar Point marina has great facilities, and the transient docks for boats 40' and larger are very nice. However, the transient docks for smaller boats are located far from the marina's facilities and in an undesirable location.

Convenient and Nice, 2012-02-16
Captain: , Erie, PA (100)

We stayed here on one of our stops during a trip around Lake Erie. It's about a 5 or 10 minute walk to Cedar Park amusement park entrances. We particularly liked that we had access to the nearby pool. Nice facilities but can be a bit of a walk.

Fun area, but not perfect, 2011-09-16
Captain: , Detroit (720)

Obviously the point is to go to the park, so that part is great in terms of proximity. I was shocked to find out that my 24ft slip was no in the nice end of the marina they show you online, but down 1/4 mile back in the dirty segretated area looking at the parking lot. Low docks are nice, but otherwise I felt like we trainsients were relegated to the underiable end of the marina.

Pool was nice and large. You go here because you want to ride in Cedar Pointe. If you don't want the amusement parke, then go elsewhere, because you will be almost completely annoyed with everything else about it as just a marina.

Excellent place to spend a few days!, 2011-05-24
Captain: , Catawba Island, Ohio (83)

Great spot to visit. Obviously lots to do. Some of the facilites are a far walk from the transient docks. A little noisy, but you'll get that docking next to an amusement park. Docks are new and very nice, but no upright boards to grab on the way in, so you might have to adjust your normal docking strategy.

Nice restaurants, 2011-05-04
Captain: , Southport, NC (523)

Not a quiet place, but good if you are going to the park. Probably better to anchor outside of the marina in the bay if you are not going to the park. There are two decent restaurants walking distance from the marina.

Experience depends upon which dock you're on, 2010-07-25
Captain: , Newport, RI (10275)

We arrived at the Cedar Point marina late in the afternoon and were assigned a slip on the furthest dock from the amusement park. According to the people at the gas dock, this is where they put all of the sailboats. As one reviewer said, it provided a great view of the parking lot. We were the only boat on the dock and it was one of the most disgusting docks that we've ever been on as it was absolutely covered by seagull guano. After a discussion with the marina staff, which included them trying to charge us more for a larger dock, they moved us to a nice, clean dock right next to the park. This was much better and it didn't feel like we were banished to Siberia.

You really need 2 days to do the Cedar Point. We spent from 9 to 3 in the park and from 3 to 6 at the water park. After dinner we wandered back through the park going doing some of the more sedate rides.

For transients, could be better, 2010-03-02
Captain: , Huron,OH - Little River, SC (680)

Overall, this is a great marina. However, they moved the transient docks from the main marina, in the heart of the theme park action to a location away from the activity. Now, everything is a long walk, and you get a nice view of their parking facility.

you have to love the noise and have kids to enjoy this marina.
