Reviews for Cavalier Golf and Yacht Club
Very Nice Facility, 2016-07-22
Captain: , Lottsburg, Va (264)

We stayed for about a week, our club came for a visit. If there is a nicer facility on the Bay, we just haven"t been there. One must be a member of a yacht club to visit Cavalier and if you are, go out of your way to stop by. The trip up Lynnhaven Bay is a slow one as most is under controled speeds; but we're in a trawler anyway. The vistas along Lynnhaven Bay are beautiful, some over the top homes on one side and raw natural beauty on the other. the Club has well maintained docks, great food and service and an interesting golf course. I didn't bring my clubs so can't speak to the playability but it is in great shape. Very tight too. Lynnhaven inlet is also very tight, perhaps the new bridge will make the entrance wider; we had a close encounter with a VA Pilot boat as we were leaving. There's a lot of current thru the bridge. If heading south, stay close to the resturants on your port side, ignore the other channel. There is 10+ feet by the resturants and plenty of width for 2 boats to pass.

Wonderful secluded golf and yacht club., 2015-11-21

This facility has it all! The docks are new, the basin and grounds are beautiful, and staff is excellent. The location is bit off the beaten path, but well worth the 30 minute or so run in from Lynnhaven Inlet, a good bit of which is at idle speed. The only caution area is the west side channel as you approach the narrows between Broad Bay and Linkhorn Bay. We've never encountered less than 8' MLW, but you need to pay attention not to stray out of the marked channel, which is relatively narrow in that area. Oceana Air Station is about 2 miles south of this location. At certain times fighter jets do a fair amount of training and generate the corresponding noise. Beyond that this is one of the most peaceful places you'll find in a highly populated area. There's no better place on the Bay in terms of beauty, great staff, and easy access to shopping.

Joe Andrew and team were wonderful to work with. The grounds and marina are perfect. We kept our boat there from October until April, and it was almost as clean as weaken we first arrived. Easy access, nice docks
We will be back next year
