People select marinas on things like, having been there before, word of mouth recommendations, and convenience to particular resources. Catamaran Island is an under appreciated gem. Beautiful well maintained properties, clean swimming pool, excellent food and professional courtesy. The island has a reputation for being one of the most secure and its location is such that it is away from the traffic and noise associated with Frontaras, the bridge and the trucks. The peaceful nature of the place makes Catamaran a top choice.

Enjoyed our time there during the summer months of 2014. Kevin and the staff are great. The grounds, Pool, restranents and security are great. Could use some upgrades on the docks.

Marios Marina, Rio Dulce Guatamala, 2011-09-03

Hello, we are Mark and Lori Phelan formerly S/V Last Penny. Our New boat Is Noa (Nowah) At Marios Marina, Guatamala. Marios Marina is down stream of position shown on chart. At least a mile below the bridge.
Marios is run by Marco and is a geat place to leave your boat. They have a great restaurant, pool, bar, laundry service and water Taxi to town.

Day labor is $4 per hour. Its nice to watch your boat getting waxed while having a coldie at the bar.
