Reviews for Casey's Marina
Disappointed, 2016-08-30
Captain: , Marshfield MA (10)

We booked a 2 night stay at Casey's Marina a week in advance. It was the weekend of the Newport Folk Fest and we were meeting friends of my wife. I was quoted $5/ft per night. (30' sailboat) We got there and everything was fine. I was slipped in front of a 150' sailboat Friday night. Saturday morning we picked up our friends and powered over to Fort Adams to anchor and listen to some good music. It was a beautiful day until we returned. There was a Mega yacht on the dock with no room for us. I repeatedly called both Casey's cell and office number to see where he was going to put me. This went on for at least a half hour as we powered back and forth from the north side to the south side of Newport Harbor. I finally pulled into a neighboring private dock to retrieve my folding bikes and my power cord. He never returned any of my calls. We had to anchor out that second night. This was July 22. Well today my visa bill came in and he charged me 340.00. I tried again calling and leaving messages. I know he sells diesel and those mega yachts use a lot but that is no way to treat a sailer. I am fighting the charge. Very disappointing.

Decent place. Hard to get a hold of. , 2016-08-20

The dock was fine. He even gave us free water and power that we really didn't need. The head on shore is shared with a Chinese massage place, and is covered in what I assume is black mold. Definitely wear your flip-flops. Lastly, raising the dock on VHF didn't work. Calling the listed number didn't work. Finally googled him, and called a cell phone that was picked up on the third attempt. Almost gave up and started looking for alternatives.

I guess you can't argue with the price? It was $100 cheaper than all the other docks in town.

Help When We Needed It, 2016-07-22

We picked up something on the prop while on Rhode Island Sound. Called around Newport Marinas and only Casey's said come on in. Furthermore, Casey himself called a diver for us and directed us to his new marina beside the Newport Yacht Club. He met us at the dock, had a nice chat, and wished us luck with the diver. No charge for the tie up! The diver was at the dock within an hour. His name is Jared Carleton 401-480-0188. Courteous, efficient, and a fair price. Another hour later and we were gone.

In a world of mediocre customer service and an area (Newport) of outrageous prices, this experience couldn't have been better. And, yes, the prop and shaft were cleared - no further problems.

Got me in when no one else could, 2016-07-07

Giving 5 stars for the service. Got me a dock space 4 days before the 4th of July, when everyone else laughed and said, 'you mean for next year, right'. Stayed at his northen dock marina so I can't comment on his main southern marina, but I had a dock to town, power, and water. And since it was just for overnight, didn't really need to ask for more. Thank you Casey!

5 stars for fuel prices..., 2009-06-07

didn't use the marina, just the fuel delivery barge. best price in Newport and second best in the area (Pt Judith Marina was a few pennies lower). They come to you with the barge (I was on mooring).
