Reviews for Casa Rio Marina
Deceptive billing and engine service maintenance, 2015-10-22
Captain: , Annapolis, MD (45)

I contracted Casa Rio marina to complete engine services that were identified in my marine survey as part of my purchase agreement (boat not purchased from Casa Rio). I was quoted $2,800 for the specified repairs. when we received the bill it was over $10,000.00. during the course of the winter I kept asking Lynn how we were doing on schedule and cost estimates, she continually told me all on schedule and budget. While we're having the services done additionally I asked for the starter and alternator to be sent out for overhaul. I was also told I needed a new heat exchanger. All of which was masked by using Red Westerbeke paint. When I asked for receipts from the overhaul service vendors I was given Xerox fabricated receipts with no vendor names or information. I am now a extended cruiser and stuck in a boatyard heading south due to a failed supposedly new heat exchanger I had purchased. to the point, they are deceptive, Do not provide accurate services, lying to the customer. beware of this facility

Great service hauling before hurricane Sandy, 2015-09-23

I have added a revire on eBoatCards under "Mechanical" about a great repair experience I had on 09/23/2015. I recommend Casa Rio for repairs.

I hauled my boat this year for the first time at Casa Rio. The rates good, better than Annapolis, and setting up th ehaul date, etc. was easy with great communication with the marina office.

I pulled the Sarurday before hurrican Sandy hit and there was a line of boats out the river waiting to get hauled. The marina crew worked dilligently to get every boat out and handled properly. Kudos to them!

It is shallow in there so watch your charts. I draw about 4.5' and went in 2 hours after low tide with no problems. A boat behind me drew about 5.5' and they said they never touched bottom.

Deceptive Billing Practices, 2013-10-04
Captain: , Mayo, MD (10)

I kept my boat on the hard there last winter into the summer so I could make repairs. I was told that land storage was $145 per month to which I agreed. I was also told that I would be sent a contract to sign in the mail. I never received the contract and I inquired about it twice over the winter. I was always told that they would send it out. When I was ready to launch my boat in the summer of 2013, I went to pay the balance due on the account (had to put down half on haul out and the other half on splash). When reviewing my bill, I noticed that they charged me $300 PER MONTH for the last two month. I asked Lyn about the charges and she told me to refer to my contract (which I reminded her I never received) as it was stated that during the summer months the land storage goes to $300 per month from $145 per month (talk about a bad business model). She would not take off the charges, and I had no choice but to pay them since they would not splash my boat until I did. Please beware of this...they lost a loyal customer over $310. I will never go there again for any of my boating needs.

Helpful and knowledgeable staff. Friendly folks. Will let you do your own work. Reasonable rates.

Great Marina for Mast-Up Trailer Sailor Storage, 2011-05-08
Captain: , Gulfport Small Craft Harbor, MS (168)

I give the ramp only 3.5 out of 5 stars but the facility overall is nice. Single ramp is well protected from winds and wake. But the ramp is insde piling lined walls so be careful to protect gelcoat.

I keep my boat at Cadle Creek Marina, but use Casa Rio for haul out and storage. Good service.
