Reviews for Cape Haze Marina
Best diesel price around!, 2016-10-27
Captain: , Bay St. Louis, MS (734)

Great place to purchase fuel. They sell diesel at cost. The only problem is getting to the fuel dock. It is tucked way in the back of the marina, at the end of a narrow canal. Difficult manuevering a 49' boat back there, then had to back all the way out of the canal. Even then barely enough room to turn around. I probably would not attempt it again unless I needed a LOT of fuel.

Not what the web site shows, 2016-07-27
Captain: , South Pasadena (20)

Bath rooms and showers and pool close at 5 pm. Restaurant we were sent to was closed. No on site food available. Would not return or recommend.

Only in a Crunch, 2016-06-10

Price was wrong...listed at $1.50 but was $2.00

No receipt offered or given.
Restrooms & Showers are locked up at 5:00 PM
Docks in need of repair.
Docks need lighting - broke, turned off, or not present.

Two stars because staffwas friendly.

Stay at Palm Island... same price with lots more.

Great place and amazing staff., 2016-06-04
Captain: , Sarasota (20)

After a mechanical failure late in the evening during a long trip and many calls to many marinas, this place saved our butts. Not only that, they went well our of their way to make sure we were taken care of.
A can't say enough good things about the staff, the facilities are nice and clean and the resident live aboards are super friendly.

Cape Haze Marina, 2016-03-25
Captain: , Kemah, TX (172)

First of all, when we saw this place on Active Captain, it said that it was $1.50 ft. Well prices have gone up and it is $2.00 ft now. Makes a bit of difference when you're on a budget. It's shallow here, but we made it in with our 4'8" draft. Docks are fixed so no floating docks, and they are rough wood, so watch bare feet! In the reviews we had read, it said swimming til late, but apparently the dock owners must've had problems. The pool, access to showers/bathroom, laundry, snacks, beer, ice, etc. are all closed down at 5:00pm. The folks here are very helpful and nice. Every Wednesday Abel's Repair comes here to the marina to help any boaters who may have problems. They fixed our generator in 1 1/2 days. It's a small marina, about 3 docks. It's hard for sailing vessels over 35' to get into the pump out and the fuel dock. Water and electric (30 amp) are at the slip. Retaurant within walking distance with good food. The office will fill you in on that info.

OK to get out of a storm but!, 2015-12-02
Captain: , Las Cruces,, NM (180)

We pulled in here because we could not get into the Plam Island Marina where friends where staying, The Pro's, Its well priced and they had $2.00 diesel the day we where there, staff were friendly, Pool is nice although it's a three day camel ride from the docks as are the restrooms. The Cons, docks need repair although they are on concrete pilings the wood is very weathered (splinters). No Pumpout dockside and it would be fairly challenging to get to the Pumpout and Fuel Dock, there is no room to turn a 40 footer you would have to back out. The restrooms close at 5:00 pm so your going to need to pump out sooner rather than later.
Would probably make a good Hurricane Hole though, pretty much surrounded by Condo's and Mangroves. Very sheltered an quiet.

First Rate staff and liveaboards, 2015-10-22
Captain: , Mullica Hill, NJ (688)

I would have given the marina 5 stars except the heads and showers close at 5 and wifi is almost non existant at the transient dock.
The staff is first rate and the live aboards on the dock were really friendly and helpful. The Placida Grill is a really first rate restaurant.
The basin is protected 360 degrees from the wind and wakes.

Warm and friendly, 2015-10-11
Captain: , Cape Haze, FL (10)

Tim and his crew are simply the best. The facilities are everything you would want and free beer for us live aboards on Saturday afternoons. The restaurant is first rate and a great place for a date night. 24 hour pool and hot tub.

Protected Marina, 2015-06-14
Captain: , Austin, Texas (1774)

This marina is tucked back in the mangroves on the mainland side of the ICW. Very friendly staff, and the best diesel prices on the west coast of Fl. Docks are fixed wooden, and need some work. Watch out for splinters. Other than that, this is a very nice marina, at $1.50 ft.

Friendly and Convenient Marina , 2015-01-19
Captain: , Greenville SC (250)

This quiet marina was a great place to restock supplies while enjoying this section of western Florida. The staff were helpful, even taking us to Publix the first evening we arrived.

Great Staff, Protected and quiet, 2014-05-15
Captain: , Marathon, FL (70)

We purchased a boat near by and spent several months here moving aboard and refitting. Very friendly and helpful staff with the best prices in the area. Will definately stay again and reccomend to others.

Quiet Stop, 2014-04-21
Captain: , Halifax Harbor (109)

Best Diesel price I've seen. 3.60 a gallon on 4-18-14. Nice Pool, staff is helpful and nice. Quiet overnight stop.

WELL PROTECTED, GOOD STOP, 2014-03-19
Captain: , East Falmouth, MA (1533)

Pulled in for the fuel priced and stayed 2 nights due to incoming weather. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The docks are old, fixed, but very stable. The cable didn't work but thyat was the only problem. There's a pool, clean shower and restrooms, but not much else nearby. The do a large dry stack boat storage business with a few transient slips. The fuel is the best price in FL.

Very Helpful Staff, 2014-02-10
Captain: , Hampton NH (252)

Very well protected and the most helpful and accomodating staff we have found on our trip south. The fuel and dock prices drew us in and we were very pleasantly surprised with all of the staff. It seems to have all that you need for an overnight stay. It is not a resort and doesn't try to be. But the good honest and helpful staff make the difference. It seems to be managed very well and we will return if we are in the area again.

Overnight Stop, 2014-02-06
Captain: , Deltaville, VA (602)

Cape Haze Marina is a very quiet and protected marina. The staff is very friendly and helpful. They have a sign on the ICW which directs you to a very narrow channel with a 90 degree angle entrance to the marina. Boats that draw more than 4 feet beware and enter only at high tide. Not many amenities. Nice restrooms and showers but they are inside the ships store which closes at 5:00pm. Nice pool and hot tub, but they also close at 5:00pm. Long walk from transient docks to ships store. No courtesy car, restaurant, or laundry. Has both 30 and 50 amp service and water. Fixed docks. Good for an overnight tie up.

Quiet stop over, 2013-02-19
Captain: , Stony Point, NY (852)

We came in for the cheap fuel ($4.01/gal diesel including tax on 2/19/13) Decided to stay for the night. The staff was very helpful helping us turn the boat to get off the fuel dock and back out to the "T" dock for transients. Few ammenities, but we are self-sufficient and did not need to provision. Sad to see the 2 unfinished condo buildings with empty docks on the other side of the marina

Nice spot for the price, 2012-12-14
Captain: , Athens, AL (641)

Very clean upscale location but as others have noted, not designed for transients. Definitely a protected spot if you need to duck in from bad weather. Ken was very helpful and loaned us his vehicle for a Publix run when my wife mentioned that she was going to make a bike ride there. Ken would not allow that since it's a very busy highway with no room at all for bikes. Thanks Ken. For $1 per foot, a great stop.

Very good stop., 2012-11-26
Captain: , Houston, Tx (33)

Friendly helpful staff. Diesel at cost. Transient dockage $1.00 a foot. Restaurant and bar nearby.

Tuff on transients, 2012-06-12
Captain: , Snug Harbor, RI (30)

Facilities close @ 1700hrs. Condo residents not reallyaccomodating to boaters. Not much nearby (groceries, etc). Is well protected & close to Stump Pass Inlet.

Fair marina ... nice staff and good location, 2011-01-28
Captain: , Clearwater (326)

I like Cape Haze marina for its quiet feel and laid-back attitude. It's not over-run with facilities around it unless you have access to a car but the location itself really cant be faulted!

Not Fancy but Will Do, 2011-01-14
Captain: , Cleveland (2083)

The docks are very good, folks are friendly. Not really set up for transients. Grocery store 2 miles, breakfast place just off the property. Showers/restrooms are near the pool - not terribly close to the docks.
