Reviews for Cape Fear Boat Works, Inc.
Quimby will keep coming back, 2017-05-25
Captain: , Meredith, NH (638)

We arrived late in the morning with an engine oil leak. After 1/2 hour diagnosing the engine trouble and another less critical issue they ordered the parts needed which they received the next day & installed the 3rd day & we were off. As a result of their fine service without attempts to inflate charges as so many marinas do we are leaving Quimby here this summer (2016) for storage & hull & deck maintenance. Sam Long is one of the most upright gentleman you will ever meet with a memorable sense of humor.

Quimby was back for the summer of 2016 & had substantial work performed on her including hull reapir & painting, deck repair, skeg replacement, steering seals, Cummins rear seals & much more. Quimby now runs like she never did since we bought her 4 years ago. We are in love with her all over again. The people at CFBW were wonderful to work with & we will be back next summer together with some of our friends we introduced CFBW to.

Great people and always willing to help. I had overheating problems on my way to a pullout, they sent a small boat to me to help pull me the the pullout.

Great DIY yard, 2015-01-16

We stored our boat over the summer and the spent September getting it ready for the cruising season. The staff and other boaters there were helpful and friendly. A little out of the way but well worth making the trip. Would definitely recommend this yard especially if you are DIY'er. Nice facilities while living aboard..

I like the service, the staff and the storage/service fees. The only problem is the height of the bridge coming in. I have a 60 ft mast that hit coming and going at extreme low tide. I make it about 52 ft at high tide.

Hidden Gem, 2014-06-08

Can't beat the people, friendliness, service, atmosphere, or price! Whether working on DIY projects or having work done by the on site staff or others, this is by far the best place to be! Gated security access from the road, facilities available for showers and a beautiful clubhouse style area above the offices for relaxing after a hard days work...even my dog loves it here! If they had a marina we would make this our full time home space in the water. Peace, quiet, and beauty at it's best - this place has it all!

Cape Fear Boat Works Can handle just about any boat from a bottom job to a complete refit. DIY or let thier highly efficient staff do it for you. They are friendly and knowledgable. Inside or outside storage. They are well protected on the Cape Fear River a short distance North of downtown Wilmington.

Cape Fear Boat Works has helped me replace my engine and refit my tired Irwin 35. I sure am glad I found them.

Highly Recomended, 2013-05-23

Just finished a full refit of my boat here. Had indoor spot for my boat. Quite, out of the way, and allow you to do your own work if you please. Highly skilled workers or will get one for you. Great deal, won't break the bank and will help you get anything you need.

Best DIY yard ever., 2013-04-05

Very good service, and do it yourself if you like. Great people.
