Reviews for Cape Ann's Marina Resort
Too Busy to Book, 2016-08-10
Captain: , Wickford, RI (550)

Business must be good; very hard to get in touch with the dockmaster to make multi-night reservations. Finally did call back but not until we had made alternative plans - very frustrating.

Great rest but bring tip money., 2014-07-30

When you need a recharge, this is the place. The indoor pool is warm and helps works the kinks out. Across the street is a small movie theater. Plenty of places to eat.
When you are tired of anchoring out or mooring and want to splurge, this is great.
This year we stopped in for a break and a swim, after walking the length of the marina in our swim suits, the person behind the desk says I have to charge $2.00 for each towel. Would you bring your wallet to the pool? Every year previously towels were included in the premium $3.50 per foot dockage fee. We left the pool area and took long hot showers. Is there no end to bad ideas?

Excellent Customer Service, 2013-07-24
Captain: , Deltaville VA (140)

In addition to all the good things said, FRI July 19, 2013 after a last minute schedule change, I called and asked for a slip for the following day. I am not from the area & have never been to this marina. I was told they were full but would try to accomodate me. Christian, the Dockmaster called me back at 9PM Fri and said he had an opening for the following day. A level of customer service rarely seen today.

Worth the trip, 2013-06-21

Really good staff, good dockage, good navigating up the channel, good store, good food... I can't think of another "good". This is about as good as it gets with history, good food and drink, friendly people. This place even has good prices on really good hotel rooms if you need a shore day to get the land legs back.

Full service marina, 2013-03-27

Great dock staff, pool, Clean bathroom and showers, Marina store has basics, You might find a "Wicked Tuna" boat captain working restaurant is good ,across the street, The Causeway restaurant is fantastic also a small movie theater. a short walk to the Fisherman memorial worth the walk. A longer walk to downtown Glouchester with great restaurants and bars. You may want a taxi ride back.

Lots of fun!, 2012-09-05
Captain: , Hingham, MA (1079)

We (two sailboats) stayed at the marina over the long Labor Day weekend. Unfortunately, they were all booked up and the other five boats in our flotilla had to stay elsewhere in Gloucester.
The 17 people in our group dinghyed over to Cape Ann Marina. We used the pool and spa and ate several times at Mile Marker One. The marina did not complain about the additional visitors (probably because we spent so much $ on food and drinks).
The Parade of Lights and the Schooner Festival were excellent and well worth coming to Gloucester to see.
The odd-looking thing just outside the Blyman Bridge is the Greasy Pole, a local Gloucester tradition that I am sure to come back and check out.

Good access to everything, 2012-03-07
Captain: , Pawtuxet Cove, RI (272)

We stayed here, arriving at the end of the day after transiting the canal. People were friendly and helpful. Found a great restaurant nearby and had a wonderful time hiking into town. Even found nearby places for provisions. Well worth considering if you are in this area

Excellent Marina, 2011-06-06
Captain: , Gloucester, MA (807)

Excellent marina on all fronts. Great dock service, good facilities, and excellent storage and repair. Ship's store has the basics and can get most anything next day.

Local flair makes this a charmer., 2010-05-19
Captain: , MA and Southwest FL (538)

We spent 2 nights and 3 days at the marina. It is ideally located in protected waters just off Gloucester harbor. Easy to get to, very nice docks and slips. The dockmaster was excellent, and very accomodating.

While the buildings are a bit dated, the ammenities are nice. We used the grill under the tent, the pool, hot tub and showers. Never made it to the restaurant and pub.

For coastal explorers it is a great launch point for day tripping to Rockport, Plum Island and Newbury Port. The Annisquam river is a nice cut to the north, avoiding the 15 mile treck around Cape Ann. This is the best facility around Cape Ann and we will be returning soon.

Great Marina, best place to stay in Gloucester, 2010-04-23
Captain: , York, ME (1971)

Although it's a bit of a walk to town, everything you need is right here. This is a full-service marina, with fuel. The indoor pool is a nice touch, and the showers in the pool building are nicer than the marina showers. The staff is always friendly and helpful, and they always seem to have room for a transient.

There are some good restaurants in the area, but the only one we go to any more is the Causeway Restaurant. Look around at the other tables before you order, you won't believe the portion sizes at their low prices. Obviously in Gloucester the seafood h
as to be terrific, but so is the italian food.

There's free wireless Interent through the hotel, with a good signal on the docks.

Excellant stop, 2007-09-13
